Am I the only person under the impression that Helda Costa is going to leave this summer? As much as I would love him to stay things just do not add up, spending 15m on Neves, the 13m we thorked up for Costa, new signings, loan fees etc. the talk of us spending 20m on a striker? We will almost certainly fall foul of ffp. Why have we signed Jota? Maybe Costa's going and we will sign Jota in January the same thing we did with Costa. Its actually a masterplan if you think of it, their is no way we can fall foul of the FFP rules that way, and certainly works in our favour. Also these rumours of Chris Wood for 15m! C'mon, that's ridiculous. Thoughts?

FFP rules are assessed over 3 years, ergo, any spending by wolves this season, plus the past 2 seasons, less revenue earned, the total loss must not exceed £5m per year average. Revenue earned includes prize money, such as the £120m if you get promoted to the premier league. Having spent very little the past 2 years and having a full molineux every week this season will help mitigate any losses.

Interesting Manurhys.
I wouldn't say Costa has to go there are other players that don't fit in either at the minute. You could add batth, Edwards, Marshall, Doherty etc etc. From that list I mean that it's pointless having Marshall and Doherty. Batth has been found out. He can not pass 30 yards like coady.
The squad needs cutting. We have added quality apart from up front. Also certain youngsters will go out on loan to cut wage bill it's going to be a tidy bit of business from wolves this season. If 26m as quoted comes in from Chelsea I'm sure wolves would allow it knowing they have filled that void already or with another signing.

You could have a point but no chance he’ll go this window, simply because there won’t be enough time to prove his fitness and get the kind of performances that would command the fee required (£20m+) . Its not impossible though that your point still holds with them intending to sell in January, as you say with the Jota fee agreed.
Mind you I’m not sure it would be as ‘necessary’ as peeps think, FFP are a nonsense and pretty easy to work round at this level. For a start the fine is at a percentage of any deficit so the board could just do what all other clubs do and ignore it for the season in the hope that they go up and simply sell if they do not? Here’s an interesting fact, until last season every team finishing in the auto promo spaces would have failed FFP (Newc were the first team to buck the trend through shrewd player sales) . Most clubs simply paid the fine out of the extra millions that Prem football bought or counter balanced it over the following FFP period with sensible transfer policy and the riches bought by the Prem! FFP is a nonsense, not because they shouldn’t be trying to control spending but more because it’s a broken system! Was supposed to make things fairer but if you REALLY look at the way it works all it really does is protect the status quo/ top four/ big teams…which is why all the established clubs were SO in favour of it!

To be fair winston nothing is stupid anymore. 200m for Neymar is a joke. Although I respect he's worth 40 goals a season with assists and goals no footballer is worth that money. Everyone's price has gone up by 2-4 million now that we would be looking at. I can see a further 20m been spent on strikers but we won't get the deal of it been split over 2-5 seasons by our rivals unless they are struggling with FFP.

It is normal to have two players for each position if you are a top club which we think we are atm so we have Jota Bright Bonatini as our attack but Costa Graham Cav Dicko can slip in same with our wing backs where Marshall and Vinagre can slip in for Doc and Douglas and Price and Edwards for Saiss and Neves
A couple more injuries and we will need some of these players.

First fans on here we complaining that nothing is happening and now we have had an overhaul of ownership signed 2 potentially 3 new players in 3 days a new manager and have a week to go. All the fans seem to do is find the negatives around new players and the team. This time 6 months ago we were going nowhere fast and now everything some to be " shot down " with negativity. We are still the same club as last year and at the moent we are a mid table championship club not a premier league giant. The people we have in and types of personal we are getting players and management wise shows we aee punching way above our weight on our current status. Do we all need to wind our necks in and manage expectations a bit? Everyone's excited by the takeover. we get linked to £20 mil signings and a dramatic overhaul of our team and management. A week on we've brought in 3 loan signing of players who couldn't hold down a first team place and a manager whom nobody had heard of. Nothing wrong in this and like it been said any change from what we had and we're going is a bonus, but should we all calm down and get real as to what we're going to spend. We won't know until he plays obviously, but the fact that he's come to us on loan from a Portugese side nobody's even heard of where he's also been on loan to, is a bit of a clue do you not think.
There's no problem with what's going on so long as they/ we manage expectation. We all thought we was going to compete in the transfer market for players who we KNOW would improve our team. unless things change quickly, we need to accept we're not and hope one of the Portugese guys is a new Jarvis or similar nobody else has spotted.

I am just alittle miffed as to why we've been linked to Cavaliero, Baston, Ely, Silva, Lemar, Talisca, Vaart, John, Bamford, etc etc etc (quality promotion type players), yet only have a few 'cheapies' to show for our efforts (Textiera, Costa or being linked to Middlesborough cast offs) . I know being cheap doesn't always mean being crap but we really need some of the 'biggies' to play for us if we have serious ambitions of promotion this season.

Its just been reported by the E&S Mike Williamson has stated he wants to stay at Wolves. If he could stay fit for next season I think he could play a majour role in firing us up. At 33 maybe just a 1 year with an option of another would be best for all of us.

Junior Hoilett would do a good job for us, apparently talks with Swansea have broken down, no transfer fee as he's a free agent, I think our Jeff is being very sensible on wages offerd (Talisca) before he becomes held to ransom with future signings, and some of our current players might become jealous and want bigger bank statements to spend on things most of us can only dream about. We need to take it easy, big money signings and big names = big wages, and that sometimes does not gain sucess, QPR springs to mind.
