Bit random but, does anyone recall a goalkeeper called Jesus Barbosa (I think) that played for us about ten years ago? I was only young, but I seem to remember him playing really well in the first half against Worcester city in a pre season friendly,

Werewolf

1.) My god does he know?

2.) Y? Siewolf

3.) Yes I remember him he was on trial I was there right behind him making acrobatic saves when he could of just put his hand out and grabbed it funnily enough I did not see him again after that game

I can understand how some of you are disappointed but, can we really afford to be complaining about a new potential owner simply because the face of the company isn't quite as high up on the rich list as a previously mentioned potential owner?

Also, the way the stories have read to me, this new bloke was only investigated by Chinese authorities and it sounds like he complied with everything they said and so, has not been convicted, so what's the big fuss?

Werewolf

1.) 20 Jul 2016 11:52:35
It's not a question of disappointment, it's the fact that this (appears, by all logical sense) to be a total stitch up and rip off. I'd rather we didn't sell and kept Kenny Jacket, at least he has integrity and is English.

They are debt ridden, they probably approved the Moneyshop, Mendes involved probably means we will be an exploited feeder club for Europe and China. It's just unacceptable.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 12:10:38
How do you come to that conclusion though? If the FL's tests prove this new guy, what exactly suggests it's a rip off? Some of their acquisitions have been made with debt, this doesn't mean they are necessarily in debt. They are a group that made a billion in profit last year alone.

With regards to Mendes being involved, I can kind of understand your concern due to the trouble he has caused at Valencia, however it seems (from reports) that he'll do it differently with us as we have only been rumoured with younger players on potentially permanent transfers.

Distin been released by Bournemouth, might be a decent experienced option to add to the current squad.

That a joke yeah?

If not I can't quite see the angle you are coming from with this one. Care to enlighten me?

2.) 24 May 2016 23:56:07
Bloody hell, I never realised be was 38 now!

3.) 25 May 2016 12:56:48
38?

That's about the youngest and hungriest we can afford these days. Makes Mike Williamson look like a nipper.

4.) 26 May 2016 15:25:23
He may be old but he's more athletic than Williamson. Not sure what kind of season he had last year though.

I really think everyone's getting a bit carried away at the moment regarding the sponsorship and the potential sale.

1) it's not nailed on that we will be sold at all, let alone within a year, so everyone needs to be patient and just wait and see. I know it's difficult, because we've had a backwards season and everyone wants to see where we're heading now but, the fact is, none of us are going to know what's happening until it has happened, it's the wolves way.

2) Some of KJ's decisions this season have confused me, and many others, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is a bad manager. Not every manager can have a great season every year. Don't believe me? Look at Mourinho this season. And "bad managers" can make a turnaround as well. (Hint: Ranieri) .

3) Regarding the money shop, like most fans, I don't think the sponsor is an ideal fit. However, I do think people are overreacting just a little bit with the claims that its ruining the club and it's legacy and whatnot. I know plenty of football fans, as I'm sure many of you do, and not a single one is bothered by the fact that they sponsor, in fact most football fans I know didn't even have a clue that they were our new sponsor. So claims that people will only associate us with payday loans are probably a bit far fetched.

Most of you will probably disagree with me on all of this, but I'm just reporting the facts.

I was born Wolves, but grew up rural and became a Professional marketeer, so I guess became middle class. I know what identity means, and that Wolves-Moneyshop is almost impossible for many people to support, particularly rural and middle class, it's not part of their World and they won't be willing to identify with it.

Despite being born Wolves, whose Dad supported Wolves through the 50's and 60's (and despite Wolves being my only tangible link to him) and despite me having supported them all my life, the moment they step out in those Moneyshop shirts, I'm done with Wolves forever.

2.) 28 Apr 2016 16:34:57
And just to add - apart from Moneyshop identity issues (that are for many people irreconcilable with Wolves and their own identity) the really big problem is Moneyshop conflicts with peoples principles.

People learn their principles by around age 7, after that it takes something monumental to change them, conflicting peoples principles is where real revolts come from. No marketing that conflicts with peoples principles has ever worked in the history of the World, it only causes disaster. Moxey thinking he can succeed allowing Wolves to be marketed with Moneyshop against peoples principles, is like that Einstein quote about expecting a different result from something that's been tested over and over again, it's insane.

3.) 28 Apr 2016 16:41:17
Middle class as transient as ever, just us working class guys to carry on then?

4.) 28 Apr 2016 17:32:04
I was born Wolves, my Dad supported Wolves, I've supported them all my life, but I'm not supporting Moneyshop Wolves, it conflicts with my identity and principles (and I believe with the identity and principles of the club and region too) .

It's WWFC that are changing, not me. To paraphrase I think one of the FC United of Manchester statements, I'm not leaving my club, my club left me.

I believe Wolves are choosing to disenfranchise a big proportion of their supporter base with this, particularly rural, are looking to turn the club entirely local and urban, they're choosing to asset strip and prostitute our identity, no one can expect anyone else to support or put up with that. But as much as I can, I'll fight to stop it because I don't want to be shut out of my club, I don't want WWFC's potential ruined, I don't Wolverhampton branding to the rest of the Country as a pay-day society, because it would blight Wolverhampton's opportunity to regenerate and improve.

5.) 29 Apr 2016 05:38:14
We only have potential with investment. It looks to me like no one other than Moneyshop was prepared to stump up the nescessary ££££'s to help realise that potential.

6.) 01 May 2016 02:08:29
I don't mean to be too dismissive or blunt when it comes to people's opinions Ulf, but I'm pretty sure you're getting too far into this whole sponsorship thing. You're making it sound as if our link to the money shop is the equivalent of our entire staff committing mass genocide at a game. Bigcheese68 is right, if there was a better option for investment out there, I'm sure we would have taken it up, and I'm pretty sure Moxey is smart enough with money to consider the potential backlash of our new sponsor before deciding. The fact of the matter is that this sponsorship deal lasts for 3 years and after that 3 years, only wolves fans will be the ones remembering our previous sponsor, no one else will remember, or even care, that we were sponsored by the money shop. And, if their money helps us buy the next Steve Bull, I can't see anyone in the molyneux complaining about its source.

Heard Wigan and Celtic are in for Ciftci from Dundee United, surely we've got to make an attempt for him. He looks like a much better prospect than wood and seems to be available for around a million quid. The recruitment team obviously know what they're doing but I would be bit confused if they didn't make a move for him

Hull have finally had a bid accepted for Maguire, shame really, could have been an important player for us in the future but never mind. Kenny must have his reasons otherwise he'd have probably bid the asking price earlier on

Werewolf

1.) Yeh, I'm guessing that we were something like £1mill+ short of what was required and that doesn't take into account personal terms. The reality is we have to move the Group of 8 on and free up their estimated £11mill+ wage bill, the other reality is - if you want good players you got to go the distance, it's not all about bargaintown.Jez.
wolfshead.

2.) 28 Jul 2014 14:12:13
I can see us using some of these group 3 players especially if we get a spate of injuries and/or we haven't signed anyone else. Cup matches too, when he wants to rest first team players.

Kenny hinted that as he has yet to take a look at Boukari (cuz the guy is always injured) so he hasn't really made his mind up.

3.) Kortney hause joined gillingham till jan on a youth loan. hull still to decide on maguire even though there bid was turned down last week s/utd changed there minds,

No matter what everyone says, he is a very talented player. If he had the right attitude and wanted to move to wolves to prove himself I'd take him in a heartbeat.

His scoring record for his country is more representative of his ability and if he wasn't that good, why would Wolfsburg (German top 4 team) sign him in the first place.

Rhodes is nothing like McCormack or Dicko 😂 Rhodes is a classic centre forward, almost always in the right place ready to score a decent chunk of his teams goals. Dicko and McCormack score goals however, they also like to run at defenders with the ball from deeper positions, both probably contribute a lot more to their respective teams in others let's of play as well. Rhodes doesn't do much other than score goals and that's not always what you need.

Spending money doesn't guarantee promotion, look at Derby for that.

I think Price actually has improved this season already, he seems to have added a good set piece technique to his array of abilities.

Borthwick-Jackson played for United last season because Luke Shaw had a broken leg whereas Campbell played for Arsenal quite regularly as Wenger rated his ability over a few senior players.

Joel Campbell did not seem like a realistic option to me. Lots of people suggested it was possible but I think it was just hopeful, he's played champions league football for the last two years why would he come to us?

Spending more money doesn't necessarily mean you'll get better players. Ross McCormack cost like £10-15m and Zlatan was free for United, who would you rather have? (Not saying Zlatan is a realistic target for us just making a point)
