5 posts today
One was post 8: WFs
One was a comment on the manager debate
One was a rating of the players performances against Bristol City
One was a comment on the Cesar debate and the last - this one - is a personal thanks to BB for his very kind post the other day.
Firstly BB I really appreciated your comment.
You are aware that I have always regarded you as one of the serious/sensible posters on here, (hence your approbation means a lot to me), but I hope you don't mind me saying that I believe this description also covers a number of posters, some of whom tend to post stuff I fully agree with, some post stuff I partially agree with and some post stuff I don't always agree with.
However it is the range of views and opinions that often make this board so successful and interesting - plus of course the brilliant work done by Ed 1 and his colleagues.
But BB I assume from your note that you have noticed that the frequency my posting is somewhat erratic.
So at the risk of somewhat besmirching my reputation as the voice of reason I will explain why that is.
I do sometimes go several days, even a couple of weeks without posting and then post several posts over a few days, sometimes, like today, even a few in a day.
This is not just due to the ebb and flow of my life activities or as a result of Wolves results - I know some people post more when Wolves win and others do the opposite, but I try and post regardless of the results - but I guess more to do with the state of the board and my reaction to it.
On occasion I find myself frustrated with the board for one of two reasons.
Firstly, and I suppose less importantly, posts that have taken a fair time to create with serious thought invested receive virtually no reaction at all - I guess I would like there to be more posters and those posters that there are to post more regularly - (Old and Suffolk I enjoyed a lengthy thread on a game from the late 70s with you the other day).
Secondly, even acknowledging my previous comment on "the range of views" I feel frustrated that some posters seem unable to avoid what can only be described as hyperbole.

I accept that people are passionate about football and obviously Wolves in particular. I also accept that we all have a different view (and indeed an idea of what is a hyperbolic view).
Some might argue that in the past my anti Fosun or Fabio posts may have bordered on hyperbolic.
I wish people could both try to be more balanced and more importantly, despite perhaps ironically the tone of this post, accepting of alternative views.
The level of negativity - and I not talking about negativity towards players, the manager, Fosun etc etc - but towards other posters on the site is disappointing.
I hope all of the views are genuine views of real Wolves fans - although of course the board is vulnerable to non Wolves fans posting simply to wind up real fans- and that they have considered what they post before they do.
However without wishing to appear overly arrogant some of the posts are clearly nonsense!
I accept views on football/footballers, however black and white - whilst in reality of course everything is grey - are just that, views, which of course everyone is entitled to
But when I post, particularly about finances, I clearly state what is a fact and clearly identify what is an opinion or an interpretation of a fact.
However many posters state, as if they were facts, things that are patently not facts and despite this being rebutted either they or another poster simply repeats the nonsense a few weeks/months later on.
They often use these "non facts" to push an agenda that is often so out there as to leave me as I say above to wonder if these posters are indeed Wolves fans?
Perhaps childishly this does leave me frustrated and I guess I feel - as sadly I know various other posters who haven't just taken "breaks" from posting but have stopped posting all together - disappointed that the board cant exhibit a more mature face.
Rant over!
ps Am I still the "Voice of Reason"?

Are you for real or AI?

Tfiog. Good comments today but so much that it's hard to figure out where to respond! I go through cycles also. Usually the constant negativity or some of the outlandish comments made when people don't even watch the game starts to rile me up and then I decide to not write or I just don't read the forum posts for several days. I do think some are non-Wolves fans though.

You, Rated, Bullys, VB, Long, Old, Abby and a few others provide thoughtful analysis which is appreciated.

It's an interesting point NJ, re people not watching game, I can't get to the Mol nowadays and rely on Wolves radio or TV and on the odd occasions radio reports or print outs, it's easy to be 'influenced" or misled by different forms of media and by example the highlights programme after the Bristol game would suggest it was far more balanced than it actually was. So I can understand various responses.
Add to that our own opinions and view points biases or whatever, it is that that makes the game what it is, and indeed this forum.

Tfig, and by the way your honest analysis and explanations are very much appreciated, always brings things back to earth when we've maybe been lost in the hyperbole.

Reality is sometimes hard to focus on being a wolves fan, but at the moment the reality is that we're 2nd, only 1 point of the top, but at this stage I'm happy to be in the running, and somehow getting over the fences in front of us.

Thanks for the compliment NJ. I'm not really qualified to comment or respond to detailed match analysis as I don't get to many games these days. That's why I tend to focus on the clubs other issues such as, management, recruitment and ownership, etc.
Some just post on what they see on the pitch which is fine but I like TFIOG and a few others take a broader view as these things are also inextricably linked to performances on the pitch.

TFIOG I always enjoy reading your well informed, honest and thoughtful posts so keep 'em coming. Anyone who can make use of the word 'approbation' on here gets my vote.?.

Alot of the posters have now stopped. Phil789 is missed. Anyone heard from him recently?

Phil's posts were wonderful. In the days before I posted, I enjoyed reading his views and enjoyed his positivity and clear love for the club. I hope he's ok.
