Starting to think Edwards went as his transfer plan meant buying players? If he had lined players up to get them in early, possibly put too much pressure on the board to build a new side if the current squad have no takers.

Yep, he said the players weren't good enough.

I think u may well be right. He wanted an overall s9. Fosun got him gone.

Certainly, Edwards was reported as having said he only wanted to keep 7 from the squad.
He signed Trippier and Raul, and then was sacked!
Approaching the 2nd league game, and, apart from those 2 and one injured player, the re-structuring of the squad seems to have hit a brick wall. Not encouraging.

Where is the proof it's all speculation if and it's probably a big if let's hope they would be better than Armstrong and Angel Gomez i think you must st want Rob Edwards as manager the way you talk you must love that boring five at the bback it's time to move on and give Cesar a chance it' only one game yet and he's being written off give the guy a chance

They certainly don't make them like Mike Bailey anymore. A true professional and a real gentleman of the pitch. Shame we don't have a leader like that now. RIP Mike Bailey.

The Edwards part is speculation, I grant you, but the rest isn't. Nathan Shi stood at that fans forum and told the fans we'd been planning for this since Jan. He said that the squad would be overhauled, and the correct players bought in. He even had the shame-faced audacity to mention figures such as £200m! And what have we actually seen for all his talk? Two free transfers and an £8m winger who's already injured and seemingly hasn't pulled up trees anywhere before! Yes, there's a few weeks to go in the window, but considering it's taken three months to sort just three signings, I'm not especially optimistic. I think the real problem seems to be the hangover from last season.

It turns out if your players looked horrifically off the pace in the Prem, then clubs are reluctant to pay Prem prices to sign them, who would have guessed that?! Clearly not Nathan, who, like the man before him, is somewhat notable by his absence from proceedings! Here we are yet again £30m up in the transfer window, with a lot of work needed to compete.
I watched Cardiff and Wrexham last night, and both looked much better than us! Let's hope the next few weeks prove me very wrong, cause right now it feels like we will need a small miracle to go up. No one would be happier than me to be proven wrong, mind!
