Hey guys, what’s the low down on Gomes? I have to admit I don’t know much about him. Is he a quality player that was just in a poor side? What’s his strengths, weaknesses, etc.
This one kinda came from nowhere, I wasn’t expecting it to be honest.

He has definitely been sold way too cheaply, but that's typically what our club loves to do. He is a fantastic player and is easily one of the best in his position in the Premier, with a lot of potential to get even better.
We all knew that he was destined to leave. He will give his all every game and it's like a little bulldog snapping at your heels to win the ball back.

Well, Whackattack, ur getting an exceptional defensive midfielder. On his day he is unplayable. He is Mr consistent, 7 to 8 out of ten every game. Gutted he is leaving tbh.

In 3 years time, you will be able to sell him to a top European club for double what you are paying for him now. An excellent player and an excellent character.

The best player by a long way, albeit in a very poor side.
He is a good defensive midfielder.
However, his passion and commitment can lead to him getting into trouble with refs, and sometimes losing his positional discipline, trying to cover less able/committed colleagues.
I would imagine at Villa this will be less of an issue, as refs will be more favourable and colleagues far better.
He is also far more skilful and creative than he is given credit for, being very comfortable in possession.
Consequently, at Villa he will blossom as a CM rather than the DM he was limited to in the very poor Wolves sides of the last few years.
At £35m he is an incredible bargain, and you would imagine that after a season, let alone the 3 Derry suggests, he will be valued at double or more what Villa are allegedly paying.
PS 2nd Gen - If this goes through, add it to the list of bad deals you asked me to name!

Fair play for all the polite responses, fellas. You can read articles and watch YouTube videos, but the best source for credible info is fans who watched him every week.
Keep the faith, my old pals. I have no doubt that this time next year ye will be building for Premier League return. ???

Amazing person. Humble, down to earth, and gives everything for the cause. Superb player on his day. Might improve massively at Villa.
Is he worth £45 million plus? No chance. Wolves have got the right fee for him.

Whackattack, Gomes is a fabulous signing. The price you are paying is ridiculously low. To put in context, how would Villa fans feel about selling Rogers for £40-50 million? Yeah, welcome to our Wolves World!
