When we had a few better results I was happy to stick with Rob and hoped performances and results would continue in a better way until the end of the season.
Everything has now changed, some of the things he says don't help, apparently when he first came in we were playing survival football, keeping it tight and trying to gain points, well that went well.
Then we have him saying the situation is not his fault, sorry but he is part to blame being the manager. I understand he came in to a bad situation with little chance of turning it around, awful owners and poor players.

The least you would expect with 70+ points to play for is that we would at least play in a positive way and gain as many points as possible.
Now it is the players who are letting Rob down, he picks them each week, why not pick others if he is not happy. Then we have signings and substitutions, Angel and Adam don't fill me with any confidence for the overhaul in the summer.

Who does he pick? The entire squad, bar a couple of players, is utter s***. There's no squad depth at all. There's nothing.

Imagine having RE's job and looking at the bench when you need to shake things up. The last time I remember seeing such a rubbish squad, completely devoid of quality, is when they went down to League One.

Do Burnley have a massively better squad than us then, cause I'm not seeing it, I'm afraid! 22% possession is not just about the players, it's also a complete lack of any tactical plan. Letting soft corners in again is not the players, but the coaching. Not being able to keep a clean sheet for just one flipping full minute of the match. Sorry, but League One Mansfield managed to do that. Do they have better player options than Rob as well, do they?!
Yes, the team's poor, which is precisely why no one expected Rob to keep us up.

What they did expect was for him to get the team fighting, and at least leave it all on the pitch. Can anyone honestly say they've seen a single performance when that's been the case this season? Cause I know I can't, I'm afraid. I like the guy, but he just hasn't ever been good or experienced enough for the monumental task at hand, sadly.

Well said BBoy ll, I was thinking the same about Burnley.

10 May 2026 19:11:08
Agree, BullysBoy, if he's been that unhappy with the squad, what's wrong with putting a couple of the young players out wide when needed? Yet he didn't give Gonzalez a try, or Edozie in midfield. He had nothing to lose. Was he too scared or too stubborn to try something different?

10 May 2026 19:26:13
The answer was there for me, BB, when after the match Re said their minds were still in the nice hotel. Well, he should have made bl**dy well sure they were fixed on the game and ready to get out there from the off.
Every game I've watched this week has displayed an effort and desire not seen in our efforts.

We haven't got a side of club-minded players, and, more to the point, we haven't a manager or on-field captain/character to inspire or lead by example.
It's time for change, complete clear-out. Big ask, I know, but I dread things being allowed to stagnate further.

Can see all your points.
Beggars belief. Why he even took on the job.
He must have known what would happen.
Maybe he didn't expect us to go down in a whimper, and show some sort of fight in the last few games, any other team performing like us, and the manager would av been sacked.

Fact.
Can't see any improvement next season if he is in charge.

Burnley are a much better side than Wolves. Mateus Mane is the only reason why Wolves are on the points total they are. I know he's fallen off a cliff now, but without him, I don't think Wolves' PL points would be in double figures. The glaringly obvious 'Mane effect' will show that Mane beat West Ham 3-0; Mane drew Everton 1-1, and Mane drew Arsenal 2-2. Five points in three games.

This current Wolves team is as bad as the team that went down to League One. Maybe Rob Edwards isn't playing the kids because they're not good enough, and a 'fans' picked team of nippers pinging the ball about would turn a 3-0 loss into 7-0.

Wolves fans are seeing things that aren't there - because they want Rob Edwards sacked. People are gushing over how good Burnley are, then stating that they're not much better than Wolves. The closeness in points means nothing - Mane gave the team most of those points. Maybe Mane's not a diva, maybe he's calling out pros who lack in every single department - and their fragile egos can't handle the truth from a kid.

Strikes me, Noisy, you're RE's biggest fan. How do you know the kids arnt good enough unless you give em a chance.

What metric are you using to decide Burnley are a much better side exactly, Mangle? According to TransferMarket they are the only team in the league with a squad value below ours. In fact, their squad value is seen as an entire EUR25m worse than ours, so sorry, but again I don't think that's true. And I don't see anyone 'gushing' over Burnley.

I think they are simply pointing out the fact that it shows what a little effort on match day can actually achieve.
As I've asked before, would you also say that Mick McCarthy's final season squad was also better than the current crop, because he is also currently outperforming Rob's current ppm? Which one would you drop for Karl Henry, Andre, or Joao Gomes?!

10 May 2026 21:46:38
I don't think it's so much that Burnley are that much better than us. Perhaps they have a manager who can motivate them. Plus, players have pride in the shirt, our lot just couldn't care less. When they came out at Brighton and saw the big crowd of Wolves fans who spend good money to travel that far to support them, you would think they would fight to give them something back.

But they just literally couldn't care about Wolves and their own pride. Just a bunch of losers.

10 May 2026 21:56:14
Burnley are better than us because they have more points and play better football. As are West Ham. At least they are fighting as a team. We are a disgrace.

11 May 2026 09:36:40
Thank you, Ray and Old, for making my point for me. Burnley are only better because they are actually playing for the shirt, and that, I'm afraid, sits squarely at Rob's door. It would seem that a caretaker manager is getting more from a bang average Burnley team than Rob is managing to get out of ours. What does that tell us? I wanted him to succeed, but, like those before him, he's been set up to fail.

Not convinced anyone would be able to turn this dressing room around with how broken we currently look! ?
Gonna need a new manager before the start of next season, with none of the baggage carried from this absolute car crash of a season!
