Am I the only person under the impression that Helda Costa is going to leave this summer? As much as I would love him to stay things just do not add up, spending 15m on Neves, the 13m we thorked up for Costa, new signings, loan fees etc. the talk of us spending 20m on a striker? We will almost certainly fall foul of ffp. Why have we signed Jota? Maybe Costa's going and we will sign Jota in January the same thing we did with Costa. Its actually a masterplan if you think of it, their is no way we can fall foul of the FFP rules that way, and certainly works in our favour. Also these rumours of Chris Wood for 15m! C'mon, that's ridiculous. Thoughts?

Manurhys

1.) 13 Aug 2017 22:38:11
20m for two strikers LOL.

2.) 13 Aug 2017 23:09:18
FFP rules are assessed over 3 years, ergo, any spending by wolves this season, plus the past 2 seasons, less revenue earned, the total loss must not exceed £5m per year average. Revenue earned includes prize money, such as the £120m if you get promoted to the premier league. Having spent very little the past 2 years and having a full molineux every week this season will help mitigate any losses.

3.) 13 Aug 2017 23:15:14
Interesting Manurhys.
I wouldn't say Costa has to go there are other players that don't fit in either at the minute. You could add batth, Edwards, Marshall, Doherty etc etc. From that list I mean that it's pointless having Marshall and Doherty. Batth has been found out. He can not pass 30 yards like coady.
The squad needs cutting. We have added quality apart from up front. Also certain youngsters will go out on loan to cut wage bill it's going to be a tidy bit of business from wolves this season. If 26m as quoted comes in from Chelsea I'm sure wolves would allow it knowing they have filled that void already or with another signing.

4.) 13 Aug 2017 23:21:50
Rhys - why does your name have Man U in front of it?

Jota is on loan as all Wolves fans know.

Maybe we are going to sign Lukaku.

5.) 13 Aug 2017 23:36:42
He's injured until November so won't be going anywhere.
Chris Wood is exactly that a rumour there's nothing in it, Fosum will get around ffp if they want they could easily sponsor the stadium with Thomas cook or something.

6.) 13 Aug 2017 23:44:22
You could have a point but no chance he’ll go this window, simply because there won’t be enough time to prove his fitness and get the kind of performances that would command the fee required (£20m+) . Its not impossible though that your point still holds with them intending to sell in January, as you say with the Jota fee agreed.
Mind you I’m not sure it would be as ‘necessary’ as peeps think, FFP are a nonsense and pretty easy to work round at this level. For a start the fine is at a percentage of any deficit so the board could just do what all other clubs do and ignore it for the season in the hope that they go up and simply sell if they do not? Here’s an interesting fact, until last season every team finishing in the auto promo spaces would have failed FFP (Newc were the first team to buck the trend through shrewd player sales) . Most clubs simply paid the fine out of the extra millions that Prem football bought or counter balanced it over the following FFP period with sensible transfer policy and the riches bought by the Prem! FFP is a nonsense, not because they shouldn’t be trying to control spending but more because it’s a broken system! Was supposed to make things fairer but if you REALLY look at the way it works all it really does is protect the status quo/ top four/ big teams…which is why all the established clubs were SO in favour of it!

7.) 14 Aug 2017 00:19:33
If we go up we will not breach ffp.

8.) 14 Aug 2017 00:40:42
We have many too move on, FFP works over 3 years, unless you go breaking the bank big time, yes we have spent, but we haven't broke FFP, we have many too move on, Lonergan, Prince, Evans, possibly price, even zyro may end up going, I think we are going to ship out some if not all of the above so gives us more spending power, prince will end up in France, and we may end up getting a good amount for Iorful IF he impresses 👌 Last comment for me. hopefully it is not any kids Ronan Gibbs white etc sold too bridge the gap 👌 wolves ay we.

9.) 13 Aug 2017 23:53:02
What have I just read?!? 😩😩.

10.) 14 Aug 2017 01:07:35
Are you off your head or do you just not understand how football works?
How will costa leave this summer if he's injured? How's he going to pass a medical? 😴😴😴😴😴.

11.) 14 aug 2017 01:21:06
we are fine with ffp! the neves fee is spread over 5 years. and no we are not going to spend 20m again those are just stupid rumours.

12.) 14 Aug 2017 07:04:18
To be fair winston nothing is stupid anymore. 200m for Neymar is a joke. Although I respect he's worth 40 goals a season with assists and goals no footballer is worth that money. Everyone's price has gone up by 2-4 million now that we would be looking at. I can see a further 20m been spent on strikers but we won't get the deal of it been split over 2-5 seasons by our rivals unless they are struggling with FFP.

13.) 14 Aug 2017 10:09:56
Who made you the finance director man u.

14.) 14 Aug 2017 12:27:41
It is normal to have two players for each position if you are a top club which we think we are atm so we have Jota Bright Bonatini as our attack but Costa Graham Cav Dicko can slip in same with our wing backs where Marshall and Vinagre can slip in for Doc and Douglas and Price and Edwards for Saiss and Neves

A couple more injuries and we will need some of these players.

15.) 14 Aug 2017 12:37:08
manurhys is wavid in disguise, spouts exact same opinion.

16.) 14 Aug 2017 12:39:59
Italiano.
Not a criticism, just an observation.

We brought loads of players in last year carrying injuries.

This year we brought Phi Fosu-Ayeh who has been on the treatment table since he arrived.

17.) 14 Aug 2017 16:45:24
George, I can tell you now I am not Wavid. I do not condone what he said about Carl Ikeme. Exactly what 'opinion' have a I spouted? Maybe I am right, Costa may leave, we may sign Jota permanatly as his replacement and copy this season after season. I just put 'my' opinion' out their, no1 eles'. Also, I have Manu infront of my name because I was a red devils fan as a kid, all my usernames were 'manurhys' I realised one day where I was born and bread and that my blood runs gold and black.

18.) 14 Aug 2017 17:13:16
If we don't get promotion jota and boly will b off that's why they r on a season long loan Nuno persuaded them to come in the hope we get promotion and sign them permantly otherwise they will b off.

19.) 14 Aug 2017 17:37:22
How much money will that PPV in China bring in? Apparently there were millions of purchases last year. Think what it will be if Wolves are actually a good team with appealing football and are near the top of the table.

20.) 14 Aug 2017 18:33:09
Ffp is over length of contract nothing else rubbish every club is breaching ffp man utd man city psg Chelsea villa Middlesbrough do I need to go foreign or do you catch the drift the ffp is to stop clubs who haven't got our chairman and money rubbish people do you realise we are the 6th richest owners in the business we can spend like utd city Barcelona Chelsea psg.

30 May 2017 03:01:22
Nuno is in Wolves I can confirm, Lambert has left via mutual consent, backroom staff sacked (including Thelwell) . Annoucement tommorrow morning. BIG signing to follow THIS week. Exciting times.

Manurhys

1.) 30 May 2017 05:31:52
Manurhys, really hope you are right! . particularly Thelwell, he has had a big part to play in the mess we are in.
As you say, exiting times if confirmed!

2.) 30 May 2017 05:43:12
No more mediocrity for Wolves! Let's go for it now.

3.) 30 May 2017 07:36:09
QUALITY NOT QUANTITY PLEASE! BEEN THERE DONE ALL THAT WITH THE QUANTITY!

ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

GOOD LUCK NUNO! let's START MOVING FORWARD.

👍😉⚽️.

4.) 30 May 2017 08:37:15
Tim Nash saying thelwell is safe from the cull!?

5.) 30 May 2017 11:21:19
Who was the last club to reach the Premiership with an agent in charge of the team another 12 months of misery ahead!

6.) 30 May 2017 13:44:14
With Nuno, Batth, Iorfa and Hause will improve, surrounded by more Portuguese talent like Costa and Cavaleiro. Bookies will shift odds for Wolves winning Championship down from 16-1 to favourites.

7.) 30 May 2017 22:40:48
I think every team that finished above us and has an ounce of stability will be favoured over us. If we finished above reading or Fulham for example, I would be amazed.

25 Feb 2017 09:05:52
Its been reported by the Express and Star that Kortney Hause and Jordon Graham have been disiplined by the club, anyone find out what they have done? Maybe been caught out on the lash?

Manurhys

1.) 25 Feb 2017 10:40:34
Only a rumour but apparantly they turned up to training hungover.

2.) 25 Feb 2017 11:14:30
They have been dealt with. HAUSE needs a good slapping to bring him back to reality he is on form and doesn't need to be influenced by that trouble maker Graham.

3.) 25 Feb 2017 11:41:32
So annoying especially when a model professionlal like Ronan would do anything to get in the side at the moment but is injured.
This just about epitomises the ATTITUDE of some players at the moment, just a couple of "wasters" especially Graham after the club has nursed him back. From injury.

4.) 25 Feb 2017 12:02:13
I remember Benik Afobe and Jordan Graham clubbing at 4am Boxing Day 2015. One other player with them who I won't mention as he seems to be playing well.

5.) 25 Feb 2017 12:05:48
I take it you don't like Jordan constantly tweeting about his hairstyle or 'deep and meaningful' life? lol.

02 Aug 2016 16:42:40
Wolves are apparently battling with Nottingham Forest to sign Frazier Campbell from Crystal Palace.

Manurhys

1.) 02 Aug 2016 17:18:52
I seen this.

Linked with about 7 clubs.

Just his agent banding him about.

2.) 02 Aug 2016 17:58:17
Come on it's been several hours since we last signed anyone.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 18:01:03
Let him go to Forest. We can get better.

4.) 02 Aug 2016 18:05:03
Wouldn't say. I though. A few uk based players to complement the Portuguese and Viking and we will be ready to give it a go. Another forward, centre mid and centre back please.

5.) 02 Aug 2016 18:12:10
He is injured and so is Sako so why are Wolves fans saying untrue things.

6.) 02 Aug 2016 18:33:04
We need a lb aswell.

7.) 02 Aug 2016 18:55:38
Silvio will be lb, will be best since Squeak.

8.) 02 Aug 2016 18:56:28
Doherty lb, Silvio rb, iorfa CB?

9.) 02 Aug 2016 19:21:41
Realist most one here won't know who the great Squeek is mate. Best LB in my 50+ years following wolves.

10.) 02 Aug 2016 19:39:18
Yep. Best one since the 50/ 60`s era, without a doubt. Has to be one of the best players not to get a cap.

11.) 02 Aug 2016 19:45:33
Spanish, wand of a left foot.
What would he be worth.

12.) 02 Aug 2016 19:52:33
The best player we could sign .
100 per cent Lee Cattermole.

13.) 02 Aug 2016 20:18:25
What about borwick Jackson as a lb, up 4 loan? I thought he looked good b4 he got injured.

14.) 02 Aug 2016 21:51:29
We won't get cattermole, doubt Sunderland would let go. Would be good if we did though.

15.) 02 Aug 2016 23:49:49
sorry weenywolf, thought you said Boris Johnson.

16.) 03 Aug 2016 12:09:05
If he were happy to stay in the UK, I would have a punt at Bastion Sweinsteiger, he's out of favour at Utd but what a job he would do for us. Captain in the making, German organisation, Portuguese skills and Icelandic battering ram.
Tasty.

17.) 03 Aug 2016 13:22:45
7bastian would want 100k + per week at least and would never sign for us anyway, we need to be more realistic.

18.) 03 Aug 2016 16:39:50
Let me dream man, let me dream. I love watching him play, typical German, short sharp precise passing and takes no shit, also he can dish it out too. Hard as nails. Let me dream.

01 Aug 2016 11:07:07
Joao Teixeira apparently having medical and close to signing on a 1 year loan, usefull player if true.

Manurhys

1.) 01 Aug 2016 11:38:19
only seems to have made 2 appearances for Benfica first team and they were both cup matches!

2.) 01 Aug 2016 11:47:32
Isn't he coming from Porto?

3.) 01 Aug 2016 11:52:27
Is this website reliable?

4.) 01 Aug 2016 12:00:29
He's Porto and ex Liverpool who was on loan at Brentford and Brighton. Doesn't seem to have played much at all in 2016.

5.) 01 Aug 2016 12:04:23
There's 2 players with the same name. 1 that's just left Liverpool to join Porto and the 2nd who has done f all with Benfica.

6.) 01 Aug 2016 12:04:56
He is a great player left liverpool for regular football and moved to Porto. Can't believe he is coming to wolves.

7.) 01 Aug 2016 12:09:50
Melbourne that's the wrong one. That one played for Brighton from Liverpool and joined Porto.

8.) 01 Aug 2016 12:16:18
are we in danger of becoming mendes testing club for up and coming players? could be hit or miss, but will any of these players put 100% in?

9.) 01 Aug 2016 12:18:11
Its hard to believe the doom and gloom surrounding wolves.

First fans on here we complaining that nothing is happening and now we have had an overhaul of ownership signed 2 potentially 3 new players in 3 days a new manager and have a week to go. All the fans seem to do is find the negatives around new players and the team. This time 6 months ago we were going nowhere fast and now everything some to be " shot down " with negativity. We are still the same club as last year and at the moent we are a mid table championship club not a premier league giant. The people we have in and types of personal we are getting players and management wise shows we aee punching way above our weight on our current status. So let's get being Zenga and his boys and see what the next 9 months hold. COYW.

10.) 01 Aug 2016 12:19:35
and to add we don't to need to financially analyse the Fosun group they are bigger and bring more to the club than the Morgan era and will do JAck hayward proud. let's focus on football and not what they are doing across the world.

11.) 01 Aug 2016 12:33:57
if it is the one that was at brighton he was class, got ****ed up by to many players for having to quicker feet.

12.) 01 Aug 2016 12:35:39
Nugent is on his way to wolves how do I know he's my uncle goals goals goals.

13.) 01 Aug 2016 13:00:32
I have a feeling a few players will be having medicals this week. I think this will be why they've shut the training ground to fans so that they don't all get leaked!

14.) 01 Aug 2016 13:18:44
I wouldn't say Nugent was goals, goals, goals. He and Forshaw couldn't even get into 'boro's first team last year.

15.) 01 Aug 2016 13:42:20
Ans where did 'boro finish last season? Exactly! They'd be better than what we currently have or foreign rumoured coming. Nugent doesn't give defenders time and has a decent record all through his career. Good if it happens.

16.) 01 Aug 2016 13:48:15
Liverpool fan here.

if the above is true, you are getting a fantastic little player. many of us Liverpool fans were gutted he didn't get more of a chance.

17.) 01 Aug 2016 14:03:38
Lukhys:although I acknowledge what you say, we do need to monitor how well the Fosun Group are doing because that will have an impact on the funds they are prepared to release. To date, bu**er all has been spent on players. That needs to change and quick. In my opinion a decent centreally half and 2 quality strikers are essential.

18.) 01 Aug 2016 14:35:09
Our Texteira is the rubbish version, stop getting him mixed up with the Liverpool lad.

19.) 01 Aug 2016 14:56:20
The rubbish version? He hasn't even played for us yet. He could turn out to be brilliant for all you know.

20.) 01 Aug 2016 15:00:37
How do you know he is rubbish.

21.) 01 Aug 2016 15:11:27
Do we all need to wind our necks in and manage expectations a bit? Everyone's excited by the takeover. we get linked to £20 mil signings and a dramatic overhaul of our team and management. A week on we've brought in 3 loan signing of players who couldn't hold down a first team place and a manager whom nobody had heard of. Nothing wrong in this and like it been said any change from what we had and we're going is a bonus, but should we all calm down and get real as to what we're going to spend. Can't believe we'd take an aging Nugent over McCormack or foreign loanees over Pritchard if money was no object.?

22.) 01 Aug 2016 15:13:57
He's signed and if you look on YouTube he looks class so how you can say he's rubbish is beyond me.

23.) 01 Aug 2016 15:18:47
Look at his highlights on YouTube from last season with Benfica B, he looks very good.

24.) 01 Aug 2016 15:20:56
We won't know until he plays obviously, but the fact that he's come to us on loan from a Portugese side nobody's even heard of where he's also been on loan to, is a bit of a clue do you not think.
There's no problem with what's going on so long as they/ we manage expectation. We all thought we was going to compete in the transfer market for players who we KNOW would improve our team. unless things change quickly, we need to accept we're not and hope one of the Portugese guys is a new Jarvis or similar nobody else has spotted.

25.) 01 Aug 2016 15:23:10
Via Offical Wolves twitter
"It has been confirmed that João Teixeira is set to join Wolves on a season-long loan from @SLBenfica"

26.) 01 Aug 2016 15:24:22
3 new players, hopefully another 3 before Saturday. Let's give these players a chance they've certainly got to be an improvement on the c--p from last season!

27.) 01 Aug 2016 15:35:10
the better version, then.

28.) 01 Aug 2016 15:36:19
Looks like his got some talent and potential from what I've seen YouTube him. confirmed on wolves twitter season loan.

29.) 01 Aug 2016 15:44:20
spot on with the teixeira deal manurhys - well done - proper ITK .

30.) 01 Aug 2016 15:45:13
I am just alittle miffed as to why we've been linked to Cavaliero, Baston, Ely, Silva, Lemar, Talisca, Vaart, John, Bamford, etc etc etc (quality promotion type players), yet only have a few 'cheapies' to show for our efforts (Textiera, Costa or being linked to Middlesborough cast offs) . I know being cheap doesn't always mean being crap but we really need some of the 'biggies' to play for us if we have serious ambitions of promotion this season.

31.) 01 Aug 2016 15:59:10
could it be that the larger deals take longer? Someone who's playing regular would be a bit harder to convince I think than a player that sees this as an opportunity to shine. I suppose Fosun have only officially been in charge for a week or so.

32.) 01 Aug 2016 16:03:01
If true it will. be, a quality signing. Seen him at brighton few times two seasons ago.

33.) 01 Aug 2016 16:11:19
If all of these foreign players give 70% they will be better than what I witnessed against Swansea.

34.) 01 Aug 2016 16:26:30
In fairness people moaning about the players we've signed being unheard of or cheap I'm pretty sure Leicester fans were complaining signing a QPR reject in Danny Simpson a villa reject in Albrighton a lad from Fleetwood by the name of vardy and French second division players in mahrez and kante but look what happened there. Don't judge individuals by name or where they're at as team ethic and players fighting for their place can go a long way.

35.) 01 Aug 2016 16:35:34
Wavid they're probably tying up the loans to get the numbers up and spend money on key areas. Or at least that's what I'm hoping. Loans should be easier to settle too which makes them quicker. We'll spend this week for sure.

36.) 01 Aug 2016 16:49:47
wage cap in the championship so loan deals get round this.

37.) 01 Aug 2016 17:06:05
For me the performance of Ennis on Saturday was like having a new signing. He was our one player who didn't look out of his depth against a good Swansea side and it will be interesting to see how he progresses as we add creative players to the team! COYW.

38.) 01 Aug 2016 17:15:55
Nugent? 8 goals last year in 38 appearances.31 years old. Option (b) McCormack 37 goals in last 2 seasons in a struggling Fulham team. Option (c) Crouch. Ex England international with a couple of years left in him, ideal foil for Ennis/ Dicko.
Options b and c cost money. Which do you think we'll go for in this new era of wealth?

39.) 01 Aug 2016 18:59:21
I know you're all thinking it, so I might aswell say it - we may as well sign Ted Nugent instead.

40.) 01 Aug 2016 20:36:07
You tube videos mean nowt! Sigy what sit even looked good on that via a wonder goal against dust bins!

Rumours circulating were going for che Adams, not sure about him tbh.
Our form over the last 10 games is worrying, though I do think if fosun back GON and with a full pre season it could be an interesting season.
I predict Neto will be sold to give GON funds to strengthen the team, don't want to see Pedro go as he's our best player but he is injury prone so not sure we will get 60mil for him, let's all hope we do spend this summer or we could be in trouble.
JEFF SHI OUT!

Manurhys

1.) 20 May 2024 06:05:50
Everyone seems so confident that Neto will be sold but who exactly will be willing to pay the £50m+ that we'd want for a player so injury prone? No one, that's who.

2.) 20 May 2024 07:06:56
Agree Manurthys, I haven't understood for 3 seasons now why Shi is allowed to mismanage our Club!

3.) 20 May 2024 09:45:30
How has he mismanaged the club? Are we in danger of breaching FFP like Everton and Forest did? Are we in massive debt like Villa, Palace, Fulham, Arsenal and Newcastle?

4.) 20 May 2024 10:31:44
I fear Neto will leave for a cut price but with an appearance bonuses payment.

5.) 20 May 2024 11:03:09
You always look on the negative with shi Rugeley.
You never look past that.
Accept what we have or forever be confused and hacked off.

6.) 20 May 2024 12:07:37
Jas.not this again. You keep telling me the CEO is responsible for all things good and bad.
FFP a mega issue last year and
we are told we still have to be cautious this coming season.
So what are you now saying?

7.) 20 May 2024 12:22:24
Phil, I love our Club.
It has been a brilliant season, we have now survived well in the end, 2 seasons running.
For us, to not just survive, but to thrive, we need decent leadership from the top.
If the odd fan does not see that, I am sorry.
On all Forums you will see the vast majority of fans say the same as myself.
If it is not a view you share, not a problem.
Seeing our Club do well is what we all want.

8.) 20 May 2024 14:29:18
And Rugeley, all you ever bang on about is tge Fabio Silva signing which doesn't actually impact our financial situation as it falls outside of the 3 year period.

Remind me again who oversaw the Lemina, Gomes, Hwang, Dawson, AIT, Cunha signings. Why do you never mention the positives, only the negatives?

9.) 20 May 2024 14:44:21
Alot of fans have blinkered views when things aren't going as well as they did a few seasons ago. Who brought us the good times then? Oh yea, duh. Sure the partings of some may have contributed to our dropping from those heights, but new faces are in place, we're not in financial concern and we're in a new position to move forwards again. Blaming Shi all the time is not a realistic observation. He's too quiet and generally keeps himself to himself to prevent misconceptions, maybe over so, but we can't keep anchoring down to it. What Fosun and Shi have given us as been some of the best football we've seen, how can that now be criticised over and over?

10.) 20 May 2024 14:51:34
Rugeley you're the odd one or two on this site.
Only you bang on about shi the same thing repeated for last 3 years.

I've been on other sites and are mostly moaners talking codswallop.
I've seen them sat by them at the match and why pay money to go and moan.
Stupid and annoying.
I see you as not one of them but don't you think I feel the same about our club.
Don't you think I'm frustrated that there's being no ground development, the way we made bad signings,
Covid the intense worry financially for all ofcworkd football, the long term injury for our star striker,
The introduction of VAR, the new ffp added rules.

It's common fans know better how to run a football.
But best part of 40 years we've hardly been in the top flight year om year of disappointment, now we are established top flight so that's good right?

Lastly you could see and acknowledge others like myself point of view about shi fosun the running of our club but you never do its black and white for you no middle ground that's my big issue.
As I feel I'm being told by you that what you say is the only actual way.
If it is then I make my own mind up.

I hear talk to locals (Wednesfield)they tell me it's
fosun not shi.
So there more to it.

Ps I'm not good at social media and apologise for my grammar and how I come across

I tried to be as nice and polite and proper genuine as I can.

The Shi Out thing is Shi Ite. He is doing a job that not many here would have any idea where to start.
Hobbs is dealing with the football side, Jeff is juggling the money.

12.) 20 May 2024 17:02:58
Funnily enough, Wolves have been voted one of the better run clubs. As soon as we found out the financial issues, we dealt with them unlike at least 8 PL clubs.

13.) 20 May 2024 18:25:44
To those questioning my lack of balance to how our Club is run.
Football: The Club is so lucky having now 2 great guys running the football side.
To progress, the Club has to find inward investment beyond just football revenue.
What that generates is not enough to progress.
Solution for many is a strong, well networked individual who can attract Sponsors/Investors required.
Unless those who critise, believe there is a different way to look at the way forward.

14.) 20 May 2024 19:04:07
ps
Jas, totally share your views on Podence, a talented, but flawed player.
Also your separate thoughts on the squad make real sense.

15.) 20 May 2024 19:43:50
I'll ask you the same question for the 3rd time then Rugeley. What would you do to get the investment in? You haven't answered on the previous occasions. I recall you said that most CEOs last 2 years and if they are failing, the company removes them. But when I pointed out that Fosun have actually promoted Shi to Chairman, you soon changed your tune. Likewise when I pointed out the amongst Shi disastrous record is growing the clubs value from £30m to £400m, you never had a reply. Or when he turned huge profits on MGW and Nunes, or before the financial turmoil, Jota etc. As you said. You've worked for big investment companies so you are better placed than anyone, including Guo, how to invest. I mean it's not like Guo started with nothing and now runs a company worth billions of £s.

16.) 20 May 2024 20:22:00
Jas, I anm sorry you have to adopt such an aggressive tone. I have tried to look at things where we share the same views and move on as this is one we are at variance.
However.
Inward Investment: One example to consider, reduce shareholding as other Clubs like Man. City and Spurs have done
Club Value, while in the Championship it was the initial £30m, plus a reported £15miliion when promoted.
Once in the Premiership clearly, like all Clubs, it moves up significantly. Dalrymple was in charge the Promotion season
Totally agree, there have been some good transfers out but as you know, more poor ones in.
If you refuse to ignore my responses, it become a pointless discussion.
Let's both hope for a positive transfer window this summer.

17.) 20 May 2024 22:53:00
Rugeley, it's clear that we will not see eye to eye on this. Again, you've got your facts wrong. Jeff Shi was installed as CEO by Fosun. Jeff Shi then installed Darylmple as MD.

You still haven't answered the question regarding how to generate additional funds. What does 'reduce shareholding' mean? Please excuse my ignorance as I'm not from the financial world.

Are you honestly suggesting that we have made more poor signings than good ones?

We both want the best for the club but see things very differently.

Sorry if you think I'm being aggressive, that honestly isn't my intention.

I will no longer allow myself to comment on your posts as you deem us to be in battle with each other.

18.) 20 May 2024 23:48:11
Gents this has become somewhat academic for a number of reasons but the main one being none of us on here will EVER really know how much input Shi has. Does he make the decision or just sign the cheque because that will come down to the clubs structure.
I actually think you guys are getting stuck on the wrong debate/question anyway. For me the bigger (more important) question is are the guys now making the decisions finding the right players? Cause last season we signed Bellegarde, Doyle, Bueno and Doherty (with a few other small/development signings along the way). Now of the four mentioned so far (to me) only one looks like he can hold down a regular place and that's Doyle! In fact the only window we've had were we signed multiple first team players was when Lope was here. The Shi argument is just going round in circles now, but for the me the REAL question should be have our signings/deals been good enough since Lope left? We are all going to find out this summer but it's all well and good signing cheaper players but doesn't mean a lot if they aren't up to pushing for the first team!

19.) 21 May 2024 06:01:07
Bellegarde looked good until he got injured. The last few games he looked OK and with a full pre season. I think he'll do well. Doyle we all know is good. In my opinion, S Bueno looks good. He wasn't given a chance when Dawson was fit but to me, he looks better and more assured that both Toti and Kilman. Next season, I think he'll excel playing alongside Dawson and another CB.

Morning Bully (thanks for your moderation) and Jas, like both your thoughts on players.
Jas, one final, final point on the Club's stewardship:
To answer your question: "What does 'reduce shareholding' mean?"
Probably a good recent example is Man. U:
December 24, 2023: Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquires 25 per cent of Man Utd for a reported £1.2billion from the Glaziers.
So that is what I mean by reducing shareholding and generating inward investment.
Another way would be decent global brand sponsorships.
Again using Man. U. as an example:
"Manchester United‘s total sponsorship revenue for the 2023/24 season is over $332.5m, with the biggest single investment coming from adidas, which is an agreement valued at $128.44m per year."
Source: Sky Sports.
Jas, not pretending Wolves are in that league, but there are opportunities there we are not addressing.
Anyway, that aside, enjoy the summer and let's hope for a good transfer window.

21.) 21 May 2024 06:49:53
Rugeley needs to see that he is listened to always and he should do the same but rarely does.

Jeez you hard work Rugeley way too much for a simple wolves nut like myself.

Hope Rugeley you get what you want someday from our club.

The way you are you seem so unhappy with wolves.
Maybe if you look at other areas of our club it may help to give you a break from your extreme angst against Shi.

22.) 21 May 2024 07:29:09
Phil, Jas and I on the footballing side seem to share the same views.
We also both what is best for the Club.
To help us move forward I have highlighted many times how I see that happening.
If others feel we can progress with a different approach, that is fine.
This is a site to exchange views.
You have a great summer and here's hoping to a great season next year!

23.) 21 May 2024 08:58:42
Okey dokey
Just going on what you have posted in this feed.
You have good summer too.
All the best Rugeley.

24.) 21 May 2024 09:31:15
Dawson isn't going to go on for any period of time at his age and was purchased to bring experience to the defence which he did until his injury. Doherty was probably signed as a squad player at his age as well. So I would say the better comparison is Bellegarde, Bueno and Doyle.

Its just been reported by the E&S Mike Williamson has stated he wants to stay at Wolves. If he could stay fit for next season I think he could play a majour role in firing us up. At 33 maybe just a 1 year with an option of another would be best for all of us.

Junior Hoilett would do a good job for us, apparently talks with Swansea have broken down, no transfer fee as he's a free agent, I think our Jeff is being very sensible on wages offerd (Talisca) before he becomes held to ransom with future signings, and some of our current players might become jealous and want bigger bank statements to spend on things most of us can only dream about. We need to take it easy, big money signings and big names = big wages, and that sometimes does not gain sucess, QPR springs to mind.
