Well well well... I'm very happy with Cesar.

Just paid 5£ to watch the game.

The fact Mosquera has finally scored a header from a corner has made me post this.

Tripps is such an incredible signing. Him and Bueno are way too good for the champ.

I love that Cesar is pairing Munetsi with Andre in CDM and he's got all his selections right for me.

He's even playing Tchatchoua on the RW.

The squad is absolutely stacked and I love what Cesar is doing and I reckon the Championship is gunna be bigger than the Prem this season.

Good result and a very solid performance.
New GK, keep Krejci (instead of Toti), new CM and Raul for Armstrong, and the side looks ok - bench still needs work though.
Might need to change my view on Lopez - I sincerely hope so, as ability wise he could be v special at this level, but obviously the jury is out as to if he can hack it in the less "friendly" Championship.

Bearing in mind, we've not seen any of our 8 World Cup players in pre-season, things ain't looking too bad! Solid performance all round today, with Hugo the best, as usual. FWAW.

Hugo was superb today, a contrast to his on/off performance the other night.
I'm not yet convinced that CP's style will hold up in the Championship, we'll be facing faster and more physical challenges than friendly rehearsals. What do we do if Andre is missing?
I suspect Krejci, Sante and Wolfe are in the offing for a move, plus perhaps Tchchou, so we're very light at the back.

Fer Lopez, if he stays, will have to perform in inclement weather and attention.
Mane will have to be thinking quicker.
I'm going to reserve judgement for now.
As a footnote, though, wasn't it great to see Mosq score, the pleasure he took and the shared celebration from team mates showed a bit of the spirit we'll need. Loved his celebration.

What would you rather see, Abbey Cesars, attacking flair or Rob Edwards' boring five at the back?

02 Aug 2026 09:15:09
No, no, B Hill, I wasn't criticising. I'm just wary of the press leaving us open and catching us out when we're playing more adventurous opposition and basically waiting to see what our final lineup is likely to be.
To be honest, I'm excited to think we'll have Raul in the middle front to put away some of the chances created.

No one wants to see Wolves go back to five at the back. It's a wretched system.

So long as Wolves bring in one or two more players - and get rid of the deadwood - Peixoto's system should be very effective in the Championship.

I'm just hoping that Krejci stays. Lima or Tchatchoua at right wing won't work in the long term, so Wolves definitely need someone to battle Rodrigo for that position.

Five at the back isn't a wretched system, but the way Wolves have been playing it is certainly wretched!

Over the years, it has been determined that fast Championship style play is inferior to European style play. That's why the best teams use that style.
We just need the players who have the skills to play that way.
