Can't fathom what Lambert is doing now safety has been secured. He keeps switching the same old faces. O. K. he has given Gibbs-White a chance but that is about all. Is he giving the rest a Testimonial before they go in the summer? Very strange selections the last two games in my view. Two defeats and no goals - again. And suddenly Silvio! He must have had long enough rest to draw sufficient energy to lace his boots.

It's weird isn't it. I suppose he's trying to try the team out with different players, who's brown? He was on the bench last night.

2.) 26 Apr 2017 17:10:10
We now need to step it up with a top quality manager at the helm. PL is good but we need to go to the next level at the top. Marco Silva please. All out, go for him. ⚽️💕😉.

3.) 26 Apr 2017 17:25:35
This is an honest opinion of what I think we need to do going forward. A big shake up top down, starting with a new leader at the helm who can attract quality players and move us into PL. that person in my opinion would be Marco Silva. His contract at Hull is until the end of this season. Just try and get him! With a please on the end of the request. ⚽️👍😉.

4.) 26 Apr 2017 17:47:58
I agree with your choice Coast they can but try but from Shi has said in his interview stability and continuity seem to prevail so don't go getting your hopes up.

5.) 26 Apr 2017 20:34:50
I wish I had a pound coin for every time Wolvescoast has said "Marco Silva"

6.) 26 Apr 2017 21:51:31
Hull staying up and silva not coming get over it its dragging on now bk lambert and the player's he brings in.

7.) 27 Apr 2017 10:04:45
Marco Silva was Fosun's second choice after the Spanish national team manager pulled out last summer. Instead, for some reason, we got the playboy Walter Zenga. When that didn't work we got Misery Guts Lambert. So, we are now on Fosun's 4th head coach, or 5th if you include Jackett, who was briefly in the job. Let's stick with Misery Guts, give him a decent chance.

13 Mar 2017 07:11:40
If Fosun are contemplating sacking Lambert before the season ends then I hope they have observed and learned from the past, and have a quality replacement lined up, who will provide an instant bounce. Just remember not to re-run Clipboard and desperate Dean!

wolabby

1.) 13 Mar 2017 10:34:22
Correct. Every time we sack a manager we're left thinking: the last one could have done better. Have we ever done better since Mick McCarthy in fact? Or, more recently, Kenny Jackett?

No, keep Lambert for now. We're not Norwich and we're not Derby, both safe enough to fire their managers and going nowhere. Yes, we might still go down but history shows we're even more likely to go down if we fire him now. Besides if we win at Brentford he'll be a hero again. We have short memories.

2.) 13 Mar 2017 11:16:25
He won't ever be a hero! He's a dead man walkin.

3.) 13 Mar 2017 11:29:23
I'm pretty sure approx 99% thought he was a hero when we beat Liverpool. You and Wednesfield Wolf must have been the unhappy 1%.

4.) 13 Mar 2017 11:55:19
U still livin off one cup win? Do u go to games? Have u looked at the league table and Lamberts record? Obviously not!

5.) 13 Mar 2017 12:01:36
I'm less confident we'll survive after Saturdays win than before the match I know that sounds a bit daft but I can't remember a performance that bad for years . I've always said a manager needs at least 3 transfer windows in which to build his own team but I'm sorry to say it but if this guy stays then I think we will be relegated I hope i'm wrong .

6.) 13 Mar 2017 12:12:55
Lose against Brentford and Fulham and Lambert will be history. Win both games and he will be a hero. Someone's a here because we might not go down? Just shows how far we have fallen.

How can we beat Stoke and Liverpool, do well against Chelsea and yet still be in danger? Teams that win things, titles, cups, promotions etc are nothing if not consistent. We have been so inconsistent this season it's unbelievable, it's tragic. I don't know the answer, I thought Lambert was the answer but he's apparently not.

7.) 13 Mar 2017 12:20:27
Paul, why are you so aggressive if someone doesn't see things the way you see them. When did I say PL is doing a good job? If you actually cared to look, you'll see that I'm replying to your direct quote where you said PL will never be a hero. What was your opinion of him immediately after the Liverpool game you know before we went on the losing streak? I bet you didn't want him out then did you considering he'd only lost about 2 games. And yes I do go to the games but not all of them because I have a job which allows me 1 weekend off every 9 weeks. What's your point. We ain't all as negative as you.

8.) 13 Mar 2017 13:11:36
I'm not negative but I certainly don't bury my head under a stone! I'm not aggressive I'm passionate about Wolves!

9.) 13 Mar 2017 13:26:54
Paul T, so what's your view on our next coach if PL is dead man walking?

10.) 13 Mar 2017 13:34:09
Jas the trouble is that nobody really wanted him in the first place (myself included ) so every time things go wrong then we all jump on him straight away. You are right in what you said about the Liverpool match but that was a long time ago now and since then its gone down hill fast. Saturday was awful and we should have lost to maybe the worst team in the history of the championship. There is no excuses for this and if we don't do something fast then I think we will go down and this would be a disaster for the fosun project. HOPE I'M WRONG.

11.) 13 Mar 2017 14:13:43
I've had a think about it and I feel a foreign coach would be best as we seem to do a lot of business through Mendes, I'm sure Fosun have got someone lined up. I wanted British but as Lambert has shown it doesn't mean best. U only have to look at the top places in our division and the Prem, foreign managers and coaches.

12.) 13 Mar 2017 14:54:00
we will not gain anything by changing managers who have to work with some another managers players who simply are not good enough as it has proved season after season . Let him clear out the dross in the summer and bring in his own, then you can truly judge him .

13.) 13 Mar 2017 15:08:07
All the focus is on the manager. he may be OK, he may not. but he is the 4th manager to have a go trying to find the right formula with the dross assembled under Thelwell. That must tell us all something!
Like many, I don't understand the team choices, but there is clearly a major issue in the squad. Most who get selected go "missing" in games.
I don't rate many in the squad, but there is enough there to be doing a lot better.
For me no point in changing managers for the 4th time with just 11 games to go. look what happened last time we did that!
Let's hope we survive and THEN review.

14.) 13 Mar 2017 15:29:54
I was never keen on Lambert'and still don't want him up the mol, but what is happening now isn't just down to him' this is down to the players at his disposal more than anything, they just aren't good enough'as a whole, the players who have come through the academy haven't really set the world alight and players brought in from outside haven't been any better, but this is what happens when you try to compete with clubs willing to spend money while you won't spend yourself'and you are committed to reducing outgoings by any means possible'as was the case with Morgan/ moxey, what we are living with now is the hangover from that regime.
How many decent signings did we miss out on because of wage demands etc'in life you get what you pay for, football is no different.
If he can keep us up this season then he will have to be given the funds to rebuild the team, let's just hope the majority of the squad get shown the exit.

15.) 13 Mar 2017 15:36:31
Rugeley the last sentence is about right. IF we manage to stay up and the rumours are true that PL goes then I suggest Denis Bergkamp.

16.) 13 Mar 2017 15:44:08
It's funny PL is at the forefront for us in this position yes he carries the can but we can all see the lack of quality in the squad. I don't see many moaning about our great strikers who got picked week in week out and still can't find the net. In Dickos case coming back from injury ok but 20 plus games is a joke. They get comfy lives these players most of which are not fit to wear the shirt. It's clear we need patience this isn't Lamberts squad we can better judge him when he has more than 1 player he has bought in. If he goes this week or the summer I think Fosun should too. Apart from deep pockets what success and football knowledge had they bought so far.!?

17.) 13 Mar 2017 15:51:15
Having thought about this for a while, I'm not one for wanting any manager sacked unless it's clear that we are taking a backward step like we were under Connor and Saunders. However, the vast majority of the team that played against Rotherham were not signed by Lambert. The 2 players in the team that he signed created and scored the goal. It cannot be all Lamberts fault because these players have let down KJ, WZ and now PL. It is the players that need to go. PL has a proven track record at taking teams up. Of course I would love the football to be better but I think getting us safe and then giving PL a free reign in the summer to get rid of Ikeme, Batth, Saville etc and bring in his players. At the moment he is forced to play who he plays as he doesn't have the players he wants at his disposal.

18.) 13 Mar 2017 16:06:45
The only cash I'd give Lambert is severance pay! Sorry if that comes across as me bein aggressive Jas 😂.

19.) 13 Mar 2017 16:11:52
I wish that cup run had never happened.

20.) 13 Mar 2017 16:14:32
If we can't get Rowett now, I wouldn't bother. Nobody on the current list is any better than Lambert anyway.

21.) 13 Mar 2017 16:15:52
Warburton is the only other I would consider, but it is too late for this now and is best left until the end of the season.

22.) 13 Mar 2017 18:30:34
Think Paul Tamworth is being treated a little unfairly 😂 He has a very valid point. PL is not the same manager he was at Norwich, he feels broken to me, maybe the Villa job has ruined him. Yes he's got limited resources with us and hasn't had a lot of time, neither has Warnock at Cardiff. I'm not saying I'd like Warnock as manager just pointing out it can be done. I'd like Rowett or if at all possible Jokanovic or again if possible Dyche (even though his voice irritates me)

23.) 13 Mar 2017 18:58:00
All good head coaches will have a system of play that they believe in. The instil this belief into the players that their system will bring out the best of them and that the head coach will play the best players in that position to deliver his tried and trusted way of playing. Villa, Huddersfield, Leeds, Fulham, Sheffield W, Brighton Cardiff, QPR, even blues under Rowett to name a few have had issues but have managers who deliver their system. The players need to believe in the manager but I don't think they believe in PL.
I'm losing, probably lost faith with him after Saturdays shower. We need a manager not head coach, someone who has 100% control over what players come, go and contracts. Who it is I would look Pearson, McKay, even Giggs.

24.) 13 Mar 2017 22:18:02
Jas M I thought you said Evans, Saville etc were quality? Well at least that's what you said when we beat Liverpool now you want rid of them. Talk about have your cake and eat it! You need to think about what you actually want instead of trying to cain PT all the time. You change your mind more times than the weather!

25.) 13 Mar 2017 22:33:42
Well stuucorbett HE might be getting on a bit, but you are right with Warnock saved Rotherham last year done brilliant with Cardiff on limited resources this year, you may laugh but Warnock would of got we out this Division with the money we spent, put it this way we would not of been in this position if he were in charge.

26.) 13 Mar 2017 22:29:03
Next season starting XI: League One

Burgoyne
Iorfa Batth Hause Doherty
Price Gibbs-White Ronan
Zyro Ennis Graham.

27.) 14 Mar 2017 10:34:41
Evans and Saville quality 😂😂😂.

08 Mar 2017 10:25:02
During his tenure Zenga got berated for his policy of rotation. How not with Lambert, after all this time it appears he doesn't have a clue of his best team. As for the lack of goals, when is he going to play Enobahare as a second striker? Come to think of it what about a new partnership of Gladon or Duckens and Bright. Enobakhare has more skill in his little finger than Bodvarson and Dicko.

wolabby

1.) 08 Mar 2017 18:52:34
I don't get why you would place a bet on your team to get relegated or to lose so jas m if rotherham are winning one nil then youd want them to score again to win your bet i'd that's not the case why place the bet to me backing against wolves is a no no and another no no is placing tesco town in an acca because to win my bet they would have to win and I never ever want them to lol still each to there own.

2.) 08 Mar 2017 22:05:38
Come sat we need to throw everything at em I would put the most attacking team we have this will make or brake us I know it mite be a bit mad but play hause and iorfa lb and rb doc in the middle with I hate to say it batth get them forward as much as we can Marshall one wing weimann other saiss middle cav costa bright 433 plez plez WIN.

3.) 08 Mar 2017 23:51:48
Bigste64, I've also got Wolves to win 3-1. I always put the us to win 3-1 and 4-2 and always for the opposition to beat us 2-0. Just hedging my bets.

04 Mar 2017 16:51:33
Going, going, probably gone especially as Williamson sent off! Zenga will be back next. Whatever is wrong needs sorting quickly, perhaps a recognition that winning is about scoring more than the opposition might help.

wolabby

1.) 04 Mar 2017 21:23:41
Lamberts team today was strange:
saville left back? really?
marshall left wing? really?
Coady midfield.?
He changed the entire defence for heavens sake.
We cannot afford to experiment with a team that has never played together before!
Time for a change but its not the players that need to change!

2.) 05 Mar 2017 13:47:05
I actually agree with back 4 except Savile, Doherty should of played there he offers more with is attacking down that side and can take a free kick also as eye for goals as he as proved this season as agreed with Coady and Saiss in midfield, think Weighman is a waste of space done nothing for me for a contract why he took Dicho off at a time when he was playing well surprised me like a lot of times for me with is weird team selections, Bodvarson was brought on to late.
Lambert seams to be getting a lot wrong to me with is team selections and he is definitely to blame for the mess we are in how Saiss as not been playing in team is a big surprise to me and him saying he didn't need striker says it all for me and what on earth is that all about a 3 year contract for Evans and he cannot get in team, says it all how this club is run.

3.) 06 Mar 2017 09:40:34
Agreed. Saiss might not have consistency but as nobody else is showing any form his skills are needed more then ever. Pair him with Price or Coady and unless we're playing 5 across midfield, Edwards can make way.

4.) 06 Mar 2017 11:15:08
Good answer Euroman to the Edwards situation, I also would only play him in a 5 midfield, Weighman is rubbish send him back done absolutely nothing against Reading at a time when Dicho was doing well, Bodvarson was left to late to change game and Savile at full back before Doherty does not make sense.
To think that what we have paid for our team to what others have paid does not make sense 20th in championship and £20 million on 2 players without the other millions spent needs sorting out quickly,6 defeats on trot and home form is an absolute joke, heads should roll and roll quickly with Amateurs running our football club.

25 feb 2017 16:42:30
lambert wants to play his preferred way which seems to be 4,2,3,1 which in theory is fine but unless teams come on to wolves it appears that he doesn't have the players to make it work. the cup games showed that wolves can counter attack effectively but if the majority possession is in wolves favour they look totally lost with that formation. time to be pragmatic, abandon the ideals and survive.

although he may have been a naughty boy i can't understand why we should shoot ourselves in the foot and leave hause out ( more ideals? ) .

why leave out enobakhare? he looks more skilled than those selected, let him play up front off the striker. why can't saiss play a holding role, he's supposed to be a tough tackling, quality player- his style is needed.

why were williamson and marshall not playing against birmingham, both were on the bench and so i presume fit. it doesn't make sense, williamson is star defender ( when he's fit) and why buy marshall if he's not going to play.

everyone will have a view and they will probably all be different but come on lambert what you are doing isn't working!

wolabby

1.) 25 Feb 2017 17:17:01
I completely agree it's Lambert way that's annoying me loads. Sack jimmy at the end of the season get Rowett in he should be able to get us up.

2.) 25 Feb 2017 21:42:06
Totally agree. If fit Williamson should be the first name on the team sheet - his leadersip and organisational skills are the only chance we have of keeping a clean sheet.
Similarly Saiss - a regular international - at least he can tackle and pass the ball even if he lacks a bit of pace.
Up front surely the likes of Bright, Wilson and Gibbs-White must be better bets than Weimann or Bod. At least they would add skill, pace and enthusiasm.

3.) 25 Feb 2017 22:16:03
We have being sacking Managers regularly since Stan Cullis in fact you could say we invented the sacking of managers and where has it got us seriously where absolutely nowhere that's where and we have got to stop it and let the current man have an extended run at it we will not get relegated because there are 3 worse teams than us and it just will not happen because eventually it will all click in place of that I am sure I have seen worse teams in Gold and Black and they stopped up so have faith you are all supposed to be Wolves fans.

4.) 26 Feb 2017 08:17:46
Everyone is mad at Lambert for going back to Jackett's rubbish. I can't imagine Fosun being too pleased, either. My guess is that he's got 4 more games to prove himself and if we are in the bottom 3 by then, he will get the sack and be replaced by Rowett (hopefully) .

5.) 26 Feb 2017 08:54:55
Unfair to judge Lambert yet, he inherited a completely unbalanced squad, too many similar players, not enough spark or quality to change a game, so his tactics are battle hard and work harder than the opposition, which is fine when your not having 50%+ possession, but when playing teams like Burton Wigan ect. it doesn't work. We don't have players to dominate a game. They only player we have that suits domination football is Jack Price because he's constantly on the move and wanting the ball and moving the ball on. Edwards is'nt very good in possession he can't make a pass, works hard but doesn't suit domination football. Saville is terrible. Evans can't keep fit. Maybe Saiss and Price could work well together? Lambert needs to shake things up and try the youngsters. Cavaliero will help when he's back fit because Costa and Cav are a serious threat, and if . that's a big IF, IF Dicko has confidence back now after his goal it MAY be a turning point.
My Team for our next match

Ikeme
Iorfa Batth Hause Doherty
Price Saiss
Gibbs-White Enobakhare Costa
Dicko.

6.) 26 Feb 2017 10:18:10
Jack Price is worse than Saville, Evans and Edwards in my view. Can't believe after all these years we are still arguing about these rubbish midfielders.

7.) 26 Feb 2017 10:22:32
Liverpool want Helder Costa. He has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave cut price if they get relegated this season. At least we get our money back lol.

8.) 26 Feb 2017 11:29:12
I don't like to talk about sacking managers without them having a fair chance BUT did anyone notice Lambert look at his staff and bench and his face told you what he was was thinking "what the hell do I do"?
This was at 2-1 against a crap 10 man Brum side and with attacking players sitting on the bench giving him the option to go all out attack. Unfortunately for us he didn't do it - plain and simple he bottled it, he looked worried, he lacked ideas - he could have gone 4-4-2, 4-3-3 and changed a few players Saiss for Saville and Bright for Edwards who was AWOL or Weimann is supposed to be going forward with the ball but he made more back passes than most players on the pitch, Batth lumps more long balls than any player I've seen and the same with Coady, if Lambert can't snap out of this formation then at least try this line-up:
Ikeme
Marshall Williamson Stearman Doherty
Edwards Saiss
Costa Bright Bodvarson
Dicko.

9.) 26 Feb 2017 13:16:03
When you weigh it up its Jacketts side who were not good enough, but in an better league position than we are now, before he was sacked.
To spend around 25 million and be fighting relegation tells me, we need a big clear out from top to bottom, and get rid of the person or persons giving these average division 1 players not championship players long term contracts, If and it's a big if we can stay up.
Also let's get to the bottom of this playing crap at molineux or should I say turning up at molineux because I cannot see the fans buying season tickets to lose to the likes of teams that are beating us, LAMBERT NO MORE EXCUSES SAYING WE ARE GREAT, we are a crap team of very average players and there are people that should be dismissed now for wasting Fosuns money.

10.) 26 Feb 2017 15:13:59
Costa will leave cannot see him staying with these players round him as Sako, Afobe before him also left, were are we going as a club worries me, we have money and wasted every penny so far except Costa, Bodvarson works hard but not the answer up front on is own, think Cavaliero will become a good player.
One thing that is positive is we have a good division 1 side if we go down, with the long term contracts given to players we the fans thought we would of got rid of by now.

11.) 27 Feb 2017 14:45:52
No offence wavidsmith but you make me laugh. Jack Price was arguably our best player against blues. At least he wanted the ball, got it moving and showed a bit of passion. Think he was the only one who recognised it was a derby and got stuck in. Agree the midfield needs looking at but I think it's more a case getting the right combination if and when all our players are fit.

Here we go again against Blackburn. Wolves are constantly dragged down to the standard of teams below them this season. Just look at their pathetic record and it's happening again!

wolabby

1.) 22 Apr 2017 18:01:51
That is our standard wolabby, don't kid yourself were better. As I've said before without Costa were nothin. Costa saved Lamberts job! For now?

Not safe yet and looking dicey.

1.) 15 Apr 2017 10:44:19
Beating Blackburn will be crucial.

2.) 15 Apr 2017 12:26:18
Not losing to Blackburn will definitely see us safe, the final relegation spot is between blues, forest, Blackburn and Burton.

3.) 15 Apr 2017 13:02:17
Be interesting to see if PL still has a job after the last match of the season. I know they are not his chosen men but his swApping and changing and playing people out of position is wearing thin.
Personally I think his chances are 50/ 50 right now.

4.) 15 Apr 2017 15:23:55
I think they have something up there sleeves.

5.) 15 Apr 2017 21:09:42
Wolabby, totally safe! No team with 50 or more points will be relegated from the Championship this season. The information is all there, you just need to know how to interpret it.

6.) 16 Apr 2017 09:25:47
Jack Russell, just the sort of complacency that begets trouble. Woof.

7.) 16 Apr 2017 15:42:05
Wolabby, That is not complacency. That is understanding the statistics! For example, have you looked at the remaining fixtures for the teams below us, it would need several teams to produce miracle results to catch us. Whilst I agree it is possible we could be caught, the probability says otherwise.

8.) 16 Apr 2017 19:33:35
Still at it you little terrier 😋.

9.) 16 Apr 2017 20:31:35
Yep! :-)

10.) 17 Apr 2017 12:22:07
We are 99.99 percent safe which is good enough no way are all those teams below is going to get enough points to send us down

Blackburn I hope stay up Burton or Forest can go down or even Brum who seem to be losing the plot more than us they need their old manager back!

Neil Warnock, master tactician of the excuse game.
Run away and lick your wounds you were outplayed and next season you will be outclassed.

I've got a great idea. We're playing bottom of the table and need points so let's start without a regular out and out striker. Genius.

1.) 11 Mar 2017 18:04:54
Which out and out striker? didn't think we had one. oh sorry you mean the two who have 3 goals in 100 games.

2.) 11 Mar 2017 18:40:06
Obvious to all we needed a striker in Jan. In his defence Weiman had a good season at Villa in premier league, scored 15 I think. I would try Marshall in place of Edwards, Cav, WL, Weiman up top.

Early in the season Zenga got castigated here for his rotation approach but surely this was nothing to what Lambert has done since. Has he played the same team two games running? Once I think, mostly half the team is changed game to game. Small wonder that there is tremendous inconsistency in performance.

He says he wants a tight squad but everything else suggests he want to be all things to all men and give everybody a game. Then just as it looks that the youngsters are doing O. K. he drops them for weeks on end or blames them for another defeat. Yet PL's commentary is usually another solid performance we were just unlucky. Well you make your own luck. Serious echoes of desperate Dean I'm afraid.

He might if he was offered a player coach role with a route to management. Can't see that his arrival would be less than positive afterall many of the existing squad need a good kick up the bum.

Word of warning to Costa, Sako wanted Premier League at all costs and look what has happened to him. Only sign for a top club Helder and that's not the Baggies.
