I just read on x that all players will have a reduction in wages 30 to 50 per cent on relegation that's interesting

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute tosh on X I’m afraid, you’re telling me that every player at the club has a clause in their contract that says they take a pay cut? Not in a million years, some may but the high earners will be gone anyway so it wouldn’t make that much difference.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, it is standard. There are very few players in the top flight without that clause, outside of the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City.}

Yes mate full article - Wolves are ready for relegation financially: every player has an automatic wage drop clause (30% to 50%). And there are no relegation release clauses, so Wolves can set whatever asking price they want.

Rated - if it is only 30 to 50% they are nowhere near sharp enough as the salaries some are on are far more than double a Championship wage

The highly-saleable players will obviously go. We may have a problem with the duds left behind, as their reduced wages in the championship may still be over the top, as Future notes. It could unsettle new players brought in on championship wages, if so and so from this season isn't worth his money. For me, the rot started when we signed Fabio Silva for silly money on silly wages.

Thanks Jeff. Far more talented players were earning far less. Then, the excuse was that the 'generational player' poor Fabio was thrust into action when still too young. Youth hasn't hurt Mane, has it? Didn't hurt the 18-year old Wayne Rooney either.

The key part for me future is gold mate is their are no minimun release fees which means the vultures can't lowball us.

Agreed for the handful of good players that are saleable but for many just getting rid will be difficult especially on the salaries they are on.
Which players are clearly Prem quality
Gomes and Andre are top 6 players.
Krejci looks fine
Emmanuel has the talent but questions will be asked about his poor form at the start of the year
JSL was good last year but huge red flags not only about his poor form this year but also his attitude/competitive edge and professionalism.
Mane in a v v short period is probably viewed as a player with high potential and Gomes R might also attract some interest?
Tolu, Yerson, Arias, (with everything crossed), and Bellegarde might be bottom end players.

After that
Sa and Johnstone are v v ordinary,
Hoever, Jackson and Doherty all sub standard prob not even Championship level - harsh on Doherty but he is not getting younger or quicker!
Wolfe, Bueno H, Santi, Hwang, Munetsi and Toti are Championship players
Fer Lopez is not ready for adult football in England but is in his 20s so sadly not sure he has a future in England!
Not going to be easy to shift any of the 12 I have listed above or even afford to keep most of them even on half their salaries!

I don’t think we will see hoever in the old gold again thank god I’m sure his contract is up at the end of this season
