Two games in and the negativity around Mane is scandalous! Always a threat, great on Saturday, continuously chopped down. Maybe we should swap him for that Gomes at Villa! Get a grip FWAW.

I don't think it's negativity, Preston, just honesty. Mane was hyped up after lighting up a dull season for us, and, in all truth, he gave us some hope.
However, he's got to learn to be a team player, realise when to pass, and when to take his chances.
His decision-making is letting him down. Last night, there were a couple of instances where his slow reaction could have turned costly for us if Wednesday were a better team.
He needs some one-to-one guidance to finish the player.

Totally agree, Abbey. Raul gave him a few looks at Preston. He gets chopped down a lot, but mostly because he hasn't released the ball when he should.

Not a moan about Mane, just an observation. Is it me, or is he a younger version of adamant, loads of pace and skill, but little end product?

Adamant was a pop star lol.

Haha. Are you suggesting, Preston, that at 18 years old he has absolutely nothing to improve upon? In which case, I'm afraid it's you who needs to get a grip, because 2 assists in 30 league games would suggest otherwise.
Can we all just take a breath and get a reality check here, please? Do you have any idea how many players are up to regularly starting even in the Champ at 18? It really isn't very many, and neither should it be, because the club shouldn't need to rely on such a young talent.
No one's writing him off; they are just pointing out that he needs coaching (which is precisely what I said). Are you saying he's the finished article then, Preston? Cause if so, someone should tell his stats!

Maybe that was Tolu's gripe with Mane last year, and Mane's poor decisions to shoot instead of choosing a better option to pass.
He is still young, and I think the Championship will be better to help him learn without the pressures of the Premier.
Chirewa seemed to do pretty well in place of Mane based on the highlights I watched. Any thoughts on him from those that saw the whole game?

Possibly true, NJ buddy, but that would still mean Tolu is entirely at fault. Mane is a kid, and needs help/mentoring, having a guy large enough to eat you, try and start on you, is not gonna help.
Tolu is the adult in that scenario, and should have used it as a learning moment rather than swinging for Mane. To be honest, I'm pleased we've got rid of Tolu because it seems like he was a loose cannon! ?

I agree, BB. Tolu was at fault and should have been a mentor rather than an instigator. I expect Raul will be much better to help Mane improve his decision making on the pitch.
Originally I thought Tolu was a good addition, but his attitude obviously was poor.
Maybe, had he joined this year rather than last, and had time to mentor under Raul, it would have worked out better for all. I'm glad he is gone. We don't need any attitude problems in the team.
