I only watched the first half last night, thought we finished the half the better side. It seemed to me after Hwang gave the ball away for their goal all the players stopped passing to him.
As we have said for a long time now, don’t understand how he is playing week in week out.
Amazing to see this morning Hwang played most of the game, did he improve 2nd half?

Happy for a point achieved, now they need 3pts v West Ham and a good performance, we have been here before, good performance away followed by a diabolical home game.

Yes he stayed out there until he got cramp Banksy, even then he laid flat out as we were breaking and we put the ball out for him. Fair enough the mancs hit the ball back to Sa but a promising movement was broken up, surely he could of sat up or something?
Sad as it may sound, hypocritical as I may sound, I don't think we have much option against him starting as it stands, there's no doubt he can run and provide questions for the oppo defenders, it's just what he does when he gets it. He did seem to be closing down on manc players better in the 2nd.

The energy was good last night, the difference in tolu over larsen and the running of mane most notable.
I though Doc lead well, mosquiro over enthusiastic at times, jackson getting where he should be, Hugo almost quality, kreicji getting everywhere, Arias much improved and of course Sa, not just for his scraping save from mosquiro back header but his 3 times punching clearance.
The identity of a pack was there it seemed, and the fact we took a point, maybe deserving 3, shows that if we turn up we can take some pride in the remaining games.

Cheers for the info Abbeywolf. As you say it seems he has to start, someone said he has created 4 goal assists so far this season, unfortunately for the opposition.
Must be frustrating for his teammates, surely they must question why he is playing, realise we are struggling for players at the moment, however last night at HT or 60mins I thought Rob would replace him, even with one of the younger lads.

Onwards and upwards regardless ?

Good performance last night and nearly got a win with Krejcis shot and Mosqueras follow up great header for the equaliser. The game clarified that Larsen cannot play as a target man Tolu did well at keeping the ball but it kept coming back when Larsen came on. If he stays I would play Larsen on the left with Tolu down the middle and drop Hwang who once again gave the ball away for the goal.

Mane was great again and with him on the right it will really stretch West Ham. The question is do we bring Andre back in as he an Gomes play the same role. Jackson was a threat and would keep the back five the same for West Ham. COYW

Excellent performance last night after conceding a soft deflected goal. What is really tragic is that we have now proven in a few matches that we can match the likes of Spurs, Brighton, Villa, Arsenal and Man U when we put our backs into it.

Too late for this season though, short of a miracle. Sa saving us from yet another own goal was probably the save of the season for him.

Hwang signed a new 5 year deal at the end of 23 I think, so he's 2 years into a deal until 28, no idea if he started or was involved in every game unless injured since then which would surely be the case if he has a contractual obligation to start.

I would seriously consider playing Hugo in hwangs position with Wolfe behind.
Hugo started as a frontsman before dropping back, he can cross the ball and scored several for the U21. He and Wolfe overlapping would surely give us better outlet that Hwang, but as you refer to Arddunby, we don't know the contractual appearance agreements.

Hugo Bueno should have started on the left yesterday with Wolfe behind him. Hwang offers nothing. Gonzalez, Lopez (if he stays), Rodrigo, Bellegarde, Mane, Arias are all better options than Hwang as they all try and attack.

I add Liverpool to the list of teams we have played well against this season, namely Spurs, Brighton, Villa, Arsenal and Man U. Is Hwang just being played out of position? He's more dangerous centrally and he's fast.

He nearly scored against Arsenal when he broke away pursued by an Arsenal posse. Against Man U he had at least a couple of shots at goal, off target, but shots all the same. The Sky commentators said he had a good match.

Hwang had 2 shots yesterday which were both wide, high and handsome. He mis kicked the ball into touch when clear in the box and trying to cross. He was dawdling on the ball when Heaven dispossessed him and we conceded. Then a few minutes before we scored, he was just outside the Man Utd box and had 3 players (Arias, Gomes and Tolu) to pass to but he panicked and got easily tackled. He isn't good enough.

Over the last few seasons if say, Jimenez, Jota, Sarabia, Cunha or even Guedes were clear through on goal, the fans would expect them to score and be surprised if they missed, whereas with Hwang, you expect him to miss and are surprised if his shot is on target.
