Rumours going around RE to be sacked loads of rubbish imo. See who Wolves sell in Jan then let RE get his own men in. let's see if any improvement with new signings and outgoings then make a decision.
For people on here saying sack him sorry would Ferguson or Pep or Wenger make a difference no. Simple as Fuson and Shi have screwed Wolves for years now they realise it will cost them more money with relegation.

The 3 names mentioned as replacements are:
Derek Mcinnes - Hearts
Brian Barry Murphy - Cardiff
Gary O'Neil - Unattached
As much as I think Rob Edwards isn't good enough, I'd stick with him rather than go for any of the names mentioned.
Also, if this is the quality of names being looked at by Matt Jackson and Nathan Shi, we are well and truly doomed.

If you take Rob’s results in isolation, I think it is 7 defeats on the bounce, or is it 8 now, can’t remember. This would normally result in a PL manager being replaced, if it stretches to 10, if there is someone available, and it big if, then I think we should depending on the correct person.
As others have mentioned nobody out there is going to come, shame but reality.
With the transfer window fast approaching I can understand why a normal club would consider their options. Problem has been we have been far from normal for sometime now.
What we do need, in my opinion, when we do get relegated we have to go down with some wins to carry through on to next season, this is essential otherwise we start next season with the hangover of this one.

I can't see RE being sacked, our season can't be saved and preparing for the championship will have to be a priority.
January will see the dead wood going, but who would want to join us now unless they were dedicated to next season?
RE is in a no win situation at the moment when really he is fulfilling the fixture list as best he can with what he's got.
Recruitment and prep in the summer will be his real tests.

Got to give RE a chance. Give him 2 transfer windows to assemble his own playing staff. I think relegation would be a blessing as it would flush out Fosuns real ambitions. I’m a wolves fan of 60 years. Tired of this 5 year nosedive.

DMac - good post.
So much going on and so confusing and depressing.
Where do Wolves go and what should they do?
Re players, posters are correct that selling now will get better prices than this summer however I suspect that most of us will be suppressed and disappointed at just how little that is even now!
Indeed to be honest it is possible that Wolves will even struggle to sell some of this squad, (other than at not insignificant losses), and possibly, given the inappropriate contracts these modest players have been awarded, might even have to pay some of them to go!
Also if you take out Gomes and Andre - plus perhaps Krejci, (if he actually signs), and maybe Emmanuel, and Tolu - this side will not only fail to pick up another point this season but may well drop straight through the Championship.
So the question is if they sell now who should they attempt to sign and who might be willing to come?
I am sceptical that in January Wolves will be able to attract players who will be of the calibre required to alter the doomsday scenario i.e. good enough to survive in the Championship?
Similarly with managers if you sack Edwards who would take the job and would it make any difference?
But for me the biggest question is an odd one you might think - what are the relegation clauses in the "bank loan"?
If, as would seem likely, the bank is entitled, upon Wolves' relegation, to take its repayment from the "charged" parachute payment then either the loan has to be repaid by Fosun - do you see that - or from one of: the player sales or the parachute payment.
In either of those last two cases it is hard to see how the club can meet its ongoing obligations - for example the club, according to the latest accounts, owes other clubs some £70m net for transfers already made.
Jeff said he had a plan but if it is so easy to cut £150m+ from the cost base why hasn't he been able to enact a mere 50% of that so that Wolves were in line with say Brentford and wouldn't have needed to sell a top half of the Prem team over the last few years?
(For example Neto, Cunha, Jimenez, Jota, Neves, MGW, Nunes Kilman, Collins, RAN - ok no gks!)

surprised

Future, I don't know how the transfer market works but if Wolves owe £70m for players they have bought, don't Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City owe us money for Neto, Cunha and Ait Nouri or did they pay all of the money in one lump sum?

Next three games, if it goes that long will determine if they sack RE.
Hes certainly been a mistake.
Be it on his part or wolves,
It certainly will be time to stick or twist
But there's no smoke without fire
Nothing would surprise me this season
29 Dec 2025 22:10:52
Goodwhileitlasted - you are of course correct.
However sadly the £70m is a net number
Wolves, according to the latest accounts were owed circa £65m by clubs for the players Wolves have sold but unfortunately they owed £135m to other clubs for players bought.

Gotta be fair to RE, he inherited VPs squad and their attitude, not to mention the confidence (or lack of).
Their allegiance to us and the cause can also be questioned.
Expecting RE to have the magic personality to win the squad over and get them playing in ways they're not accustomed maybe expecting too much.
Tactically of course he can be questioned, team selection queried, but he's caught between the proverbial to some extent so far.
.
Our season is in all honesty over, and it's really a case of fullfuilling the fixtures as best we can, all RE can do is wait for it to be over, so the dismantling and then rebuilding can begin.
The remaining games should be one of introductions and testers, obviously keeping scorlines to a minimum and also finding players who are enthusiastic in their performance for the old gold shirt.
RE can surely only be assessed after a period of his selection of his required players performing his desired tactics.
To remove him now would be a continued knee jerk to the damage Fosun and VP have done and excusing them from the predicament.

Wasn't Rob Edwards hired to coach them in the Championship?
30 Dec 2025 17:12:09
I think in all honesty we have to write this season off; we're not escaping with only 2 points at this stage in the competition.
With that in mind, we need to stick with RE, he was doing ok at Middlesbrough and has inherited this team.
Let's have a period of stability with a manager who is pro Wolves and not here just for the money, but as someone who genuinely wants what we want.
Talk of him being sacked needs to be shelved in my opinion.
