According to Harry Mansell on YouTube, it was Guo who stepped in and sacked RE, overriding everyone at the Club.
Interesting comments from TalkSport panel, with Simon Jordan unsympathetic, and Brad Friedel saying that in football at this level, when a new manager signs a contract he's just one day closer to the sack.
1.) 11 Jun 2026 18:24:56
Interesting. Longmynd just reiterates what everyone is thinking, in that Nathan Shi has no authority, really, and it's still the same old Fosun epidemic. In reality, nothing changes there. Whatever Guo says, goes.
Simon Jordan is irrelevance personified, so who cares what he thinks.
Brad Friedel is spot on. Piexoto (Zenga 2), take note!
2.) 11 Jun 2026 18:30:53
My typo earlier, Kenny Jackett, not Kenny Hackett. Thanks Doog947 for correcting my mistake.
3.) 11 Jun 2026 18:43:49
Just asking, but which journalists or 'sources' do folks find most reliable? And, by contrast, which ones are not trustworthy at all?
4.) 11 Jun 2026 19:54:19
The best is David Ornstein and John Percy followed by Fabrizio.
Alex Crook and anything posted by Sport Witness I tend to ignore, as it's usually incorrect or 2 days old.
5.) 11 Jun 2026 20:39:03
Think it depends on where the player comes from, to be honest.
Fabrizio is pretty good on European targets, but slower on South American targets in the past.
Wolves are notoriously quiet on doing dealings, as they don't want to jeopardise the deal.
I would imagine someone at Gil Vicente or in Portugal took an easy pay day.
13 Nov 2025 09:09:54
So Wolves may be interested in Niclas Fulkrug of West Ham alongside Fulham according to Keith Wyness.
It would make sense as I'm pretty sure they intend to sell JSL at some point in the near future.
1.) 13 Nov 2025 11:15:41
Sorry LongmyndWolf he's more injured than Callum wilson which says a lot plus he's 32 no from me. Put something on went on to Banters page have a read.
2.) 13 Nov 2025 11:23:07
Fulkrug is absolutely useless, shockingingly average. So we'd be swapping a proven Prem player for one that's not up to it, so like you say makes sense buddy looking at our previous/current transfer strategy! ?
3.) 13 Nov 2025 14:48:46
Absolutely DMac but as Bullys said it actually makes perfect sense given Jeff/Fosuns transfer policies.
4.) 14 Nov 2025 12:53:30
It is all so depressing .
I have been a Wolves fan since the 1960s
and apart from the Bhatti era I can't remember ma more depressing time to be a Wolves fan.
Fosun will hopefully dump us when we're relegated around March time.
Then hopefully we will get owner's who are not just interested in making money and to hell with football and the fans.
05 Nov 2025 21:00:11
Emmanuel Petit has suggested that Mourinho could be a potential candidate for the Wolves job.
His rational being that Mourinho himself said in October '24 after Fenerbahce he would like to take on a lower Premier League club who are nowhere near European competition, or words to that effect.
Now at Benfica where things aren't exactly working out for him, so.
I know so don't shoot the messenger.?
1.) 05 Nov 2025 21:26:05
Could mean massive compensation though Long, on top of salary expectations.
2.) 05 Nov 2025 22:21:09
Probably Arddunby but the thought of Mourinho tearing into Shi over transfers would be hilarious.?
3.) 05 Nov 2025 22:50:37
Mourinho wouldn't take crap from the players either, i'd have him at Wolves.
But as already pointed out by Arrdunby it would require high compensation and high salaries.
4.) 06 Nov 2025 06:19:26
Rated mate no way mourinho is well past his sell by date he's been sacked in his last 4 jobs I think.
5.) 06 Nov 2025 06:21:54
It feels like wishful thinking chaps.
Too rich an option for us. UNLESS, Fosun do look to bring in proper Senior Management at the top and a whole new approach taken.
6.) 06 Nov 2025 08:55:04
Rosenior.be a good shout I reckon
7.) 06 Nov 2025 12:43:51
Rosenior would be a good shout if he wanted the job, but also if he's given 18 months and not just to the end of the season. If / when we go down changing the head coach again seems a waste unless we go down without a fight.
At the moment we just may have to accept whoever it is due to a lack of pulling power (unless it turns out to be Shi in a tracksuit).
8.) 06 Nov 2025 14:29:10
Rob Edwards has emerged as the clear bookies' odds-on favourite overnight. He made a good attempt at keeping Luton in the PL and is doing very well with Middlesbrough, 3rd in the table. He surely wouldn't take the Wolves job if he wasn't confident he could keep us up.
9.) 06 Nov 2025 18:21:57
I would like to see Rob as our manager as long as fosun give him a chance to get us back up if we are relegated
Let's be honest .this wolves team are in a mess and whoever takes over will need a decent war chest.
14 Aug 2025 09:08:20
I see the Ben Doak link has resurfaced with Wolves and a couple of others interested.
Just 19 but plenty of potential especially as he's been 'raised' in UK football so no resettlement issues.
What do we think?
1.) 14 Aug 2025 09:32:43
He had a good first half of last season in championship then out injured. I've heard Liverpool want a very low buyback clause.
Would be an option off the bench but would having him compromise the development of Lopez?
2.) 14 Aug 2025 09:38:03
Apparently Carney Chukwuemeka is available from Chelsea for £12-15mil, again has had his injuries but seems to be past them.
3.) 14 Aug 2025 10:18:07
Be very suprised if oak came here. Our history and name means nothing anymore and shi said " if you want trophies " look elsewhere and doak probably will
{Ed001's Note - he is just looking to play regular first team football.}
4.) 14 Aug 2025 11:48:41
Kalimuendo set for Premier League move in coming days' Rennes have not commented on who the club is, player has agreed terms also, Ed’s what’s the chances this may be Wolves ??
5.) 14 Aug 2025 13:34:41
I like the look of Doak and Elliott played well in preseason.
Cb-Disasi
CM/CAM-Elliott
St-Fofana
FW-Doak
RWB-Sanchez (Still hasn't gone Napoli)
Questions over Elliott can cover in midfield and as a no 10 Vitor has said he wants this.
I know- why have I mentioned Sanchez he hasn't left Seville so I guess our offer is better than Napoli's?
Didn't realise Veiga has to be sold according to Chelsea so that probably does rule wolves out (at £35m) but maybe a loan and obligation next summer (Mendes client so worth watching).
6.) 14 Aug 2025 14:38:16
We've been offered LLoyd Kelly. I'm starting to think that on loan with a buy option isn't a bad idea, would probably be a starter and between him and Toti we'd have LB cover and be better equipped to switch to a 4 at the back if needed?
7.) 14 Aug 2025 15:15:30
Not against Lloyd Kelly MW.
What happened to the link with Mingueza?
Yes the pink hair lwb on Saturday when we played Vigo. ?
Thought he played well to be fair looked a step up on the other players on the pitch.
8.) 14 Aug 2025 15:26:17
Mingueza, good player but will only move for a champions league club and probably out of or price range
9.) 14 Aug 2025 16:31:21
Hmm suppose he wants to lay his claim for the WC spot.
Didn't realise he played rwb as well (as played in Nations League final)
Would a move to Wolves be that bad under Vitor?
Aghehowa is the same yes playing CL football is all well and good.
But you can develop so much more in the prem (if you have the character and technical ability).
Is staying at Celta Vigo and Porto better?
Apart from the weather and lifestyle. I do think from a professional stand point moving to the prem is far superior over what ever you do at either of those clubs.
Especially in your mid 20's. I remember we were linked with Kessie and Talisca in the past and thought why aren't they going for it? Suppose some players just don't fancy it.
As a player you put yourself on the world stage like Kerkez, Huijsen, MGW, Evanlison etc etc.
22 Jul 2025 18:30:36
Apparently Arias is in Paris for his medical. Wolves are doing it there while they await his UK visa.
He'll probably be here in a couple of days.
1.) 22 Jul 2025 19:48:12
I can see 4 more coming LB, CB, CM and FW.
Who would everyone like to come is the question?
LB: Lino, Reguilon
CB: Renan, Martins
CM: Gallagher, Raskin
FW: Elliott, Yuri Alberto, Aghehowa
Please note I think on top of these 4 signings I think there will be some loans coming in, as if Hwang, Guedes and possibly Silva are sold it would leave us short.
My reasoning for this is the signings above with Lopes and Arias literally replace the players that left at the end of the season: Dawson, RAN, Semedo, Sarabia and Cunha. This is before Doyle and Traore have since left.
So these signings are literally replenishing the squad before further sales can be made.
On another note there is a few players out there that may be tempting to make an offer on Diomande (Sporting), Victor Nelsson (Galatasaray) and Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco) some a bit out there but links with Diomande and Akliouche. Nelsson isn't happy at Galatasaray.
2.) 22 Jul 2025 20:57:01
I agree Madman with the positions to fill and some good ideas there. Another forward to add to the mix is Garnacho, united have put a £40mil price tag on him, as we sold them cunha a deal could be made
3.) 23 Jul 2025 06:24:37
Stretch5 Garnacho is on big money at MU Wolves have no chance and not at 40mill.

Massive congratulations to England for that performance. Apparently, there's no such thing as a 50/50 challenge any more, but irrespective they persevered.
England got their team selection, tactics and game management spot on, plus stellar performances from Bellingham, Gordon and Pickford. I bet that's upset a few as another host nation are despatched. Well played England.
1.) 06 Jul 2026 07:29:51
Yep, they did very well and proved a lot of people wrong. I didn't see them winning that, so credit where it's due. Norway are decent, but beatable too. A bit like England, a threat going forward, but can look shaky at the back.
2.) 06 Jul 2026 09:32:38
It's a great honor to be playing England in the World Cup. Norway is ready.
3.) 06 Jul 2026 10:05:22
Norway are beatable, only one problem though: a big centre forward.
4.) 06 Jul 2026 10:43:39
Norway are beatable and we have a big centre forward too! Like back in 1966, England are improving at the same stage of the competition. It was an incredible win in Mexico, despite the heat, humidity and red card.
Big shout out to Raul. He played the full 90 minutes at 35 years of age in those testing conditions. Nerveless penalty-taker. How we missed him. He will be a tremendous asset in the Championship.
5.) 06 Jul 2026 11:44:23
Raul will only be an asset if the club does the right thing by him & get the players in who can help him. Same goes for Trippier. Soon we'll be moving into the 2nd week of July, & all I see is interested & looking at. I don't believe we're looking at any World Cup players, especially after next weekend when the lesser players have gone home.
Need keeper, rb, 2 midfielders min & another forward who gets goals. & if it's correct as to how the new gaffer wants to play, we'll need 2 wingers. Clock is ticking, Wolves, so get busy.
6.) 06 Jul 2026 11:46:56
Raul did it in those conditions in Mexico City, but can he do it on a cold rainy Tuesday in Stoke?
I jest, of course. After all he's been through, it was a pleasure to watch him in this World Cup, and it's wonderful to have him back at Wolves.
7.) 06 Jul 2026 12:03:51
Don't know how wet the Championship games will be, AcleWolf, but there'll be plenty of players wetting themselves now they've seen Jimenez play!
He's coming home. ?? ?
8.) 06 Jul 2026 12:32:24
Hear, hear Long. Tuchel is quietly getting on with it. Doing an excellent job.
Feeling it could just happen!
ps
Commiserations to Raul..but delighted he is looking so good!
15 Jun 2026 17:01:38
Just listened to Peixoto's first interview since becoming Manager.
What I'm hearing was music to my ears, a demanding coach wanting strong attacking football played by a well organised team that will play the way he needs them to.
Pace, energy and pride, seems to sum up his style so we could be in for a busy window, an intense pre-season and a team that can hit the ground running from the get go.
Let's just hope he gets the players he needs to pull this off as it should be an exciting ride if he does.
1.) 15 Jun 2026 18:16:05
Why does he look like Hans Gruber from Die Hard? Especially the smile.
2.) 15 Jun 2026 20:07:20
He reminds me more of the Predator. The 1987 one.
3.) 15 Jun 2026 20:33:06
Just reading loads of different articles about Peixoto.
He likes to play high-pressing, attacking football. He likes his teams to close down the opposition quickly, and he is willing to change tactics mid-game. He is also a bit of a disciplinarian and will command respect and effort from the players.
4.) 15 Jun 2026 23:25:17
Isn't that what every manager says? What did Rob want? Boring sideways, negative football? I hope I'm wrong, but right now it's just words.
5.) 16 Jun 2026 07:34:15
I think the difference this time, Old, is that the Club approached him because that fits with the identity they now want to build. Under Jeff, it was just survival in the Prem, which we all knew would bring us to this point.
Nathan Shi seems to be looking to facilitate this change, which will include a clear out of players and the signing of those that are a better fit with the alleged new strategy.
We certainly seem to have started on that tack, so fingers crossed it is more than just words.
6.) 16 Jun 2026 18:22:53
Totally agree, Old. Action speaks louder than words.
11 Jun 2026 14:14:15
Well RE's departure is now on the Club's website and the tone of Nathan's accompanying statement seemed to confirm a lack of confidence at the top that he was the right person to take the club in the direction they want it to go.
Harsh as that may be after just 7 months in charge it's encouraging that expectations appear to have been set high and no one is immune from that.
Will the alleged new guy be any better, no idea? But at least the Club have acted to resolve what for many was unacceptable. Has RE simply been scapegoated when the real villain was an appalling window under Jeff Shi last summer? Possibly, but even so the football was pretty turgid most of the time and Wolves appear to be looking beyond the Championship.
For some time now I've described Wolves as a bit of a social club, a nice place to be where we should just be grateful to be in the Premier League, like 17th is good enough. Well apparently no longer so hopefully this news will come as the Club giving notice that failure is not to be shrugged off any longer.
The ambition seems to have been re-kindled after years of decline so I for one have to support that, it would be hypocritical to do otherwise.
1.) 11 Jun 2026 15:00:03
Agree with your summary, Long. I am happy that they seem to be acting in a more positive way.
I thought we were in danger of starting the new season playing the same style of football, whatever that was.
Actually, quite impressed that they have reflected on things and made a change. No idea on the new fella. Just hope he plays a positive style and achieves success. We deserve some.
2.) 11 Jun 2026 15:58:43
I'm happy that the club have acted and decided to part ways with Edwards, but I am absolutely disgusted in the manner they've gone about it.
The plug should have been pulled immediately after the Burnley game rather than stringing him along.
3.) 11 Jun 2026 17:16:03
I doubt they wanted to leave the ship rudderless, Good, so it's probably taken a few weeks to identify and secure a replacement of the type they were looking for. They probably told Mendes to find us someone, as Re will be going at some point.
4.) 11 Jun 2026 17:23:13
Rob Edwards should never have been appointed in the first place. If he'd stayed at Boro he may have got them promoted and his stock would be high.
Another costly mistake by the club in paying Boro compensation, and whoever came in at the time wouldn't have had much chance of saving us.
Who knows if Rob could have done well in the Championship with a good transfer window, but I wasn't looking forward to next season at all.
The club have probably made the right decision to part ways with Rob, but as usual have not gone about it in the right way, and it demonstrates how they treat their employees.
11 Jun 2026 10:18:43
A bit of non Wolves news, it appears that Burnley have successfully sued Everton for £40M following their relegation when Everton had breached FFP by £19.5M and were deducted points for it.
The courts must have found a sporting advantage had been gained so I wonder if City will a) Ever get sanctioned b) Get pursued by others in a similar way if they do.
Has that opened a massive can of worms?
1.) 11 Jun 2026 11:25:32
Longmynd, I do hope so. ?
09 Jun 2026 07:22:19
So far the 'rebuild' has been encouraging but will the re-signing of Jimenez be an inspired move or another Costa?
I know Danny Welbeck did a job for Brighton at a similar age but the Championship is in some ways tougher on players than the Prem.
For me, they'll need to find a Jimenez mark II to supplement the striker position as we can't ever again become a low scoring side.
It's not being negative, just a tad concerned.
Having said all that, a striker can only be successful if he gets the service so let's see how things progress, early days yet.
1.) 09 Jun 2026 07:48:38
We probably need around a dozen new players. Longmynd and, hopefully, Trippier are just the start of a long line of newcomers and also outgoers. Only time will tell if the club gets things anywhere near right, but at least the Trippier acquisition is a positive start and might persuade others to sign up too.
2.) 09 Jun 2026 09:10:39
Hi LMW,
Agree with what you say, really. Can't see Raul starting much, though, as we need someone a bit younger (as you say a Jimenez mk 11) to complement Armstrong. However, in saying that, what a player to bring on.
Someone who gets in the right places to score. Tolu or Raul? I know who I'd prefer.
May the positive signs of the squad rebuild continue.
3.) 09 Jun 2026 10:57:02
35 these days, with up-to-date training methods, diets and fitness regimes, is nothing like 35 of 20-plus years ago. Players were once considered over the hill as soon as they turned 30.
It's all down to the individual's body, and, if Raul does come, I can't see there being that much bench-warming. If that was on the cards, then I'm sure he'd want to go to the MLS.
4.) 09 Jun 2026 11:13:00
Raul will be starting. As mentioned, he's not coming to get splinters on his backside. His hold-up play will be a dream to Armstrong and Mane, but only if we get the right players around them. But all this is only possible if Edwards gets it right & that's my big concern.
5.) 09 Jun 2026 14:39:57
If we get promoted, Lex, it'll be just the same if Edwards is still here.
6.) 09 Jun 2026 19:32:40
Well said, Longmynd.
13 Nov 2025 14:48:46
Absolutely DMac but as Bullys said it actually makes perfect sense given Jeff/Fosuns transfer policies.
05 Nov 2025 22:21:09
Probably Arddunby but the thought of Mourinho tearing into Shi over transfers would be hilarious.?
31 Oct 2025 11:42:25
Does it matter who they get in if VP goes Rated. Who ever it is they will go the same way in 12 months time as the previous 6 after Shi/Fosun have decimated their squad next Summer.
Buy in a couple of has been's in January, a bit off new Manager bounce, hopefully survive, then repeat. Pathetic!
27 Oct 2025 10:14:43
I think that should be 'ruining of the Club' Rugeley.
27 Oct 2025 10:13:24
Would that be £400M that he hasn't got.
13 Jul 2026 09:59:12
Everyone backs the team, Wolfcall, and want them to do well, but quite legitimately, some criticise the owners for their policies and mismanagement that have impacted so badly on the club over the last 7 years or so.
If those policies are maintained, with the club still starved of any real ambition from Fosun, why would anyone find that acceptable or them immune from criticism?
Labelling people as 'moaners' because they want the best for their club is what I don't understand.
12 Jul 2026 11:11:44
I doubt any professional footballer who's been offered tens of thousands a week to play gives a flying 'f' what a small cluster of fans on a forum think. ??
12 Jul 2026 11:08:32
Apparently FosunOut fits the attacking style that Wolves now want to pursue, so I for one will applaud that. There's been speculation on here about how effective he might be in English football, but if he's prepared to take players on and can cross a ball then he'll do for me.
We've seen too much playing back and across the pitch in recent years, thank you very much.
11 Jul 2026 10:04:20
As Dmac123 commented earlier, WSD, if Fosun have not changed their self-sufficiency policy, we probably can't afford that class of player any more. That policy was not in place first time around, but if we do gain promotion it will likely be 'rinse and repeat,' as that approach has been the author of our demise, which many of us and football commentators predicted. I was prepared 'to give Fosun a chance' after the removal of Jeff Shi, but is it just going to be the same play but with different actors?
We hear new signings have 'bought into the project,' but what is that? It was the 10 years to greatness project that then became 20 years. Now it's the get promoted project, but what's after that, the bum around the bottom of the Premier League dodging relegation project?
It's also been mentioned that ground upgrades are back on the agenda, but again, if the costs are going to be dumped on the club then that will turn the financial screw even tighter.
Just a thought, would it be better to vacate the Molineux and offset the cost of a new stadium by selling the more valuable city centre site, a bit like what Shrewsbury Town did? I know that's not a popular approach, but is that restrictive site also constricting progress?
Like so many, I hope to be proven wrong, but whichever Shi we've got in charge, whichever players we buy, will it be 'groundhog day' on a continuous loop for this one reason? If so, we might as well forget a return to the glory days that were achieved before Fosun realised the true costs of maintaining that progress.
Before I get jumped on, it's not being negative to want the very best for your club, but I am frustrated that this approach is likely to continue. I once asked if Leopards change their spots, apparently they don't?
09 Jul 2026 18:25:07
If the focus and desire is there, Rated, then you may well be right. I think there is ability there, and until pre season gets underway we won't know if our new manager can get anything out of him.
Hang on, there's a knock at the door.
