According to sportslens Faouzi Ghoulam is close to completed.

Their source is sportswitness in Italy.

Not sure on the credentials of the sources, nor saying they are itk. Just saw it and thought i'd share.

I hope so cause he's supposed to be class! Also I think the Ed has made VERY good point on this. Is it not possible that Jonny has said to Nuno that for the sake of his national career he NEEDS to be playing more regularly on his natural right side? In thay scenario I love Docs but how many on here can actually say it would have made more sense to let Jonny go?! He's younger and let's be honest potitially a LOT better than Matt. Just a thought 👍.

Seen that earlier 29 is a bit old for our normal signings. Just seen bookies reckon Diogo Dalot is favourite to join us. Not a bad signing and about the right age for Nuno to coach.

Hope that Jorge didn't recommend Doc be sold so he could pocket the commission from two deals and slide his other client from Napoli (who is desperate for a club in. Doc move was always about maximising a return while his value was at it's highest. I expect Jorge tipped the sink to Mourinho that he was available for a bargain price. Personally would prefer Dalot to Goumi as he has a better chance of well-known profit but I expect both have high wages and a poor injury track record. But we may need both.

I'd like us to sign Diogo Dalot but bookies are not ITK. If we are favourite for his signature, the bookies' odds simply reflect the bets being placed. If large bets are placed on Messi to sign for us instead of Man City, the bookies will make Messi favourite to sign for Wolves. That said, I hope the bookies are right about Dalot. He sounds a real Wolves-style prospect. Even the great Man U have to balance the books and sell to buy.

I believe its actually longer, that's why he has to pull out of Spain squad if he fails second test on Tuesday. Or so the media is saying.

I don't know if we will sell him. Even if Jeff thinks it would mean more money he has to think about keeping nuno. Maybe Doc was the compromise and nuno had to pick one player. Which says something about Vinagre and his opinion of him if true. Maybe we will see more starts for him.

Right now though people are looking at the goals he scored and assisted in 2 seasons and also thinking if spurs had scored less goals wed be in Europe again. But it could all turn out to be for very good reasons. In 4 months time we could be sitting 5 contending for 4th with a handful of new players that were all got for a steal. Maybe the reason Doc was sold for a low price was to speed it up cause the funds are needed for the acquisition of a new player.

In an ideal world we will get a £30m plus player with European experience for half the price and its just wages so Doc was sold to literally cover just the wages of the new player.

At this moment we are all in the dark. But that is nothing new. At least we aren't spending like Leeds. They surely arr going to feel the wrath of FFP.

Yeah I agree Raul needs back up but he isn't a Striker. But Jota is meant to be a forward as well, not a winger.

I agree that we need depth of squad but i'd say we need defenders more. We only have 3 midfielders atm as Saiss is now a defender. Get a CB and it means Saiss and Leander can be back up to both Midfield and Defence.

And Ed, never said they didn't have to abide by rules. Simply asked how loans affect FFP since I am not an expert and don't work in the industry.

Oxley, I heard people say them about Neves when linked to prem. He just played for championship club wolves.

Logic.

First time posting.

Been scared to as it seems a few people reduce arguments to ad hominem.

I would say people are allowed to voice concern. We have been here before with fans. A select few on bith sides raging. The doom sayers and the happy clappers. The rest of us occupy the sain space of having hope but not thinking Fosun to be intrinsically devine and like Gods.

We need to progress this season and Nuno DID say he wants the squad to be improved. And yes we could sign players but tbh we are in the position of having to replace players just to have a starting team.

We have youngsters, yes. But they cannot play a full season at top level. It would be damaging to their progress. Prem is a different level to youth leagues. The toll on the body is harder and until 21 their bodies are still developing.

I remain hopeful that we will bring in 5 players, as in my opinion that's what we need.

And people need to stop saying about needing another striker. We don't use strikers. We use a CF. That is what Raul is. Its where he plays. There is a difference. Jota is a Forward as well. A striker has a different role. Seriously just google it.

Anyways. These next dozen days will be the test. Jeff has said there won't be changes in how they do business which means they won't go out and overspend. They will probably look to loan before buying unless its someone Nuno personally knows. I think its also a case of the market not being in the best state. If we get players it will be ones that are a steal like Mout, Rui and Neves. And let's face it, we do keep signing these types. So another Boly, another Jonny, Another Mout and an actual left back might see us reach Europe again. Though with a limited squad thanks to FFP.

Not wanting to be a harbinger of doom nor wanting to say I don't have fears. The Doc thing was a big blow given his goal contribution. I don't think it was him wanting to go. I think it was a case of he had to go to free up money. Maybe there is more to the AMN saga. Maybe the £13.5m is to fund an improved offer? I mean who knows. Maybe to fund Messi's wages? We could only dream of seeing him in Old Gold, but it's a fun dream.

Also. Can anyone say how do loans affect FFP? Is that why Jeff prefers them? Or is it just a cautious "try before you buy" deal?

{Ed002's Note - Loans are dealt with on the actual cost basis. Wolves have their punishment and have to abide by it.}
