If some of you want Bruno gone, then now is the time right to give the new manager the international break but who would come in? Would we really attract Poch or Tuchel? Surely it would be someone who knows the Prem and that limits a lot of choices.

I certainly don’t want him gone
What would be the point now after giving him the players he wants and the style he wants to play
Give him time it will come good

Agree Paul, can't believe Fosun have (all be it late), spent money this summer on Lage's requests, just to sack him now.
Sadly though due to the neglect of the last 2 seasons, the squad is unbalanced.
As someone said to me, "you have a squad of "pretty boys". What he meant was most are technically gifted, but there is no muscle, character, leadership in the squad and no goalscorers.
Says it all.

You're comments are spot on. We're all a little in the dark though as to how patient Fosun will be. Bruno and the players simply have to get it right soon.
Having just watched it back on motd, all 3 of city's goals were preventable. We just have to show the desire and intelligence to get to the 50/50s first. We're impotent up front right now so sound defending is paramount

Reading the comments on here I think there is a growing realisation that Lage's days may be numbered. Some have commented that we've bought in individual quality whilst failing to address squad balance and depth, it's hard to disagree.
Interestingly, many of the stalwarts of the Nuno style are now gone, Coady, Dendoncker and Saiss, all allegedly for different reasons Coady to keep his England hopes alive, Dendoncker for game time and Saiss to get a longer contract elsewhere, however, there probably was more to it than that. All players that did add a bit of grit to the side, something that all teams need to allow the more technically gifted the platform to strut their stuff, so to speak. We are now seeing one of Europe's most gifted midfielders, Neves having to fulfil that tackling back function, to support a relatively inexperienced defence, what a waste. Why would a club loan out it's Captain who is at the peak of his powers in terms of his status and influence within the game? Is Dendoncker really going to get more game time at Villa? etc. So, it seems to me that The Club / Shi / Fosun have gone all out to back the Manager by removing all potential instruments of discord that may have been present, which is fine if progress is being made and the tide is turning, but it's not.
So, we have a top performing goalkeeper, an effective, albeit inexperienced defence, on paper one of the best midfields in the Premier League, but let's be honest, a dogs-dinner of an attack. Silva's loan a season overdue for me and ok, the long-term injuries to Jimenez and Neto didn't help. This is the mystery for me, why this has been allowed to fester since they inexplicably sold Jota instead of Traore and it still continues to this day. For me Sasa was not the answer but should have been bought just to give the manager an option with the absolute necessity to bring in a powerhouse of a centre forward, a Costa in his prime type of player, one that we just knew would score goals. Ok, so we've got him now but he's in the Autumn of his career so we can't expect miracles but it's miracles that Lage needs and I think he knows it.

I do find some of Lage’s tactics questionable but believe that our biggest problem is Moutinho. I am not changing tune as I have consistently argued against giving him a new contract. Prior to the sending off yesterday we have set up with Neves and Moutinho in central midfield. Where Nunes is being asked to play is a total mystery to me. When we went to a 4-2-3 yesterday he played an orthodox central midfield role and looked far more effective. When Traore came on, who I thought, looked good Lage moved Nunes out of that central role and put him on the left wing! Moutinho should have been substituted to allow Traore alongside Nunes. We looked so much better with ten men because we were maximising the impact of Nunes, who is a class act, but only if he is played in a position which maximises his strengths.
I am hoping that, what looks like an obligation to play Moutinho if he is fit, doesn’t hold after the World Cup. Might have a lot of people disagreeing here as, he does look after the ball when he gets it but he is becoming less influential as the games are now passing him by.
I think we have a good enough squad to climb the table but only if we put the right players on the pitch in their best positions.

Mr.Lage talks a good game as most of the Wolves players do - that is if the articles in the Shropshire Star are true. They talk about team spirit, bonding, camararderie etc. When are they going to start producing results to match their words?
Can someone please tell me why we bought defenders in the close season and loaned out our only fit striker (Silva) and brought in a 33 year old who has not played since January?
Fellow Wolves supporters I hope that I'm wrong but I do not see Diego costa being the answer to our lack of goals.

Right now its hard to see who could come in. The first question I would ask is are we in a relegation fight? In other words will we struggle to finish 17th whoever comes in. If so we want a relegation specialist, Dyche or Allardyce type.

Alternatively is the issue the way the side is set up, tactics and motivation but the squad has the potential to finish 7th or better. In which case we may be casting the net into a wider pond and may need to tempt someone out of an existing role.

Looking at available names Its maybe worth pointing out that Mick McCarthy, Walter Zenga and Paul Lambert are all currently available. The point being maybe there's no quick fix out there or if there is it may be a difficult search.

I personally think we have the ingredients of a very good team, and Brunos concepts for a game plan reasoned on paper. Getting one transformed into the other on the pitch is the problem. OK injuries aside, the problem is organising on the pitch and no doubt without coady that isn't happening. We've got individuals hoping and relying on others around them, no one is dictating. Neves is leading with example and no doubt the will is there but communication between players, particularly collins and kilman RAN evident. Nunes seems lost in his role at present but so gifted. Guedes abit light as to the prem and neto no one to provide with his skill. Podence works without support. Moutininho dosnt seem the kingpin he was. Jonny goes about his work professionally. We need the unity we once had, the team spirit of all for one. Maybe when players get to know one another better, maybe Costa's personality, but something has to replace the voice and bonding we've lost in coady. Bruno dosnt seem to be a Alpha wolf for this pack, or a paternal figure as Nuno was. Only time can tell but how much do we give?

I think Bruno's time is running out. I do want it to work out for him and he does seem a proper football man, but there are too many issues stacking up, especially with the goal scoring issues continuing. It seems more and more he could be a good technical coach but not a head coach at this level. I think it's reasonable to give him until the end of October and see how results/performances have or haven't improved.

In terms of replacing him I think Dyche could be a good shout. Burnley were always tough to play against and could score goals. He earnt his chance to manage at a club with more resources than Burnley had. Would love us to get Poch but think he will only go to a European club unless he sees something in our academy setup and the project that I don't see.

12.) 18 Sep 2022

We've got a top 4 midfield, a mid table defence and a division 1 strike force.

13.) 18 Sep 2022
18 Sep 2022 13:13:54
I don't think this is all on Bruno's shoulders personally. In the summer he said he wanted new signings in early so they could bed in ready for the start of the season. You'd think that statement would have followed discussions with the board and an agreed transfer policy- the fact it didn't happen suggests a lack of communication.

Bruno made a comment the other day he'd waited 15 months for a new first-team striker, yet it took losing two of the first three this season before it happened (and no I'm not counting Teenwolf who wasn't and isn't ready). I believe Sasa was a good buy, just one that came too late. Hopefully Costa has still got something left in the tank.

After the loss of Saiss in the summer, the talk was of getting a new CB in, since which we've seen one in (Collins) and three out (Coady, Boly, Donck). Bruno has said there's a gap between Collins/Kilman and Toti/Mosquera and yesterday even decided to put Neves in there rather than bring either in. With Collins now injured it'll be interesting to see who plays after the international break.

I personally don't think he's been backed, yes people will point to the fees for Nunes and Guedes but we've seen Ruddy, Boly, Saiss, Donck, Cutrone, MGW, Coady, Vinagre off the wage bill and big money for MGW (and that's aside from the massive prize and TV money the Prem brings). And still after all that, it's a results business and unless things pick up, he'll be the one to pay. My own choice as a replacement would be Ruben Amorim but I still hope the results will come and it won't come to that

Last time I saw a team play against a stronger team with four in the back and a left forward as a left wingback was when Norway lost 8-0 to England and the manager got sacked. Guess Bruno didn't see that game. Should be a warning sign when you play better with 10 men and the game plan is thrown out the window. To many excellent players in this team are put in the wrong position on the field. Was willing to trust Bruno but time is running out.

Wolves 16th in table scored 3,Leicester rock bottom scored 10, that says it all its not rocket science. Don't score you don't win. Seems like the opposition penalty area is a no go zone. Do they have goal posts at the trAining ground?

16.) 18 Sep 2022
18 Sep 2022 15:10:08
The players on the pitch seem to be playing to a pattern rather than to their natural skills it's feeling to me that Lage is almost deskilling individual players rather than giving them the opportunity to display what they can do. Playing them out of their natural position does little to help and what seems to be an insistence to play infinite number of short passes on the slow approach to the opponents area makes for dire watching.
Four matches to save his job I reckon.

Long - excellent post
Arrdunby- Para 1, yes we are. Para 2. yes it is! Which of course is madness.
If we go down we will probably be the best team/strongest squad ever to do so - or at least have massive elements thereof, maybe 10+ players (ie virtually an entire team!) capable of playing next season at the top end of the Prem! However it is totally unbalanced and has consequently been mismanaged for the last two years.
Lage it would appear is partly to blame for the current situation but it is harsh to blame him alone.
Firstly we have had incredibly bad luck. If we hadn't had the injuries to Jimenez and Neto we would still be comfortably looking at European football.
But sadly secondly Jeff Shi is in charge of the club and no manager can overcome that handicap - indeed which manager will come and work for the man who despite clearly having no clue insists on being involved!

The buck stops with lage, his decision making,on pitch, team selection, positions,I'm no longer confident in him, sorry,
Maybe if fosun replace him,Brendan Rodgers on thin ice, think he's got a better footballing nouse,if Bruno goes it will be before we start back on boxing Day.
Hope we don't get in a relegation battle, this season, but it looks ominous at this point,
A couple of wins on the trot can change everything,is it right,Chelsea West ham Leicester next three games,
If we lose the last two mentioned
We will be in the thick of it

Agree with so much here.
Great team sheet but no team.
Bruno just seems incapable of getting a tune out of them
Of course we should have, or kept a quality CB.
Of course we should have signed a quality striker - early in the window. (I think sasa late, cheap and we know he was injury prone.
Bruno has had his chance, ok buys are in late, but for me he has shown for ages he
Can't either motivate, instruct, teCach or organise it select or position this very good squad of players.
I know it's early ish! In the season and he keeps talking the talk but I don't think we should wait until the end of Oct or whenever.
I think he should go now.
But I don't think he will.
Who next? Personally I would want Dyche or Alardice football - there too muchtalent here for them.
I'd get in Lopotenui (forgive spelling).he's top notch, was talked about before.and Portugese!
You reckon?

TFIOG hard to disagree. This is starting to remind me of the 75/76 relegation season. So many pundits said to good to go down then.

Tfiog, as I've stated before posting such concerns gives me no pleasure.
Having said that, even taking into account the players we have lost, Lage still has a very gifted group of footballers to select a football team from. I understand some of his decisions like why he plays his wingers on the wrong sides at the moment but his team selections and substitutions do seem to have people scratching their heads.
I believe that any of our forward players is capable of sticking the ball in the net if allowed to play a more natural, flowing attacking game. Lage's style of play is not allowing that which I believe will have to change somewhat to feed Costa. He will not want to pussy foot around in front of goal.

23.) 18 Sep 2022
18 Sep 2022 21:13:41
Many people have said they wanted Fosun to bring in 4 or 5 new players. Many have said they want Wolves to play a new style - more attacking.
Bruno is trying to change the style and with many new players.
It will take time before they all know the new system - Bruno says until mid-November. That doesn't mean we won't win games until then but, keep in mind, that Forest have spent a lot of money and how are they doing? Now much ahead of us are Newcastle?
We are two points out of the top 10 and have a lot more potential than a lot of teams above us. Just be patient, this is real life, not a video game.

24.) 18 Sep 2022
18 Sep 2022 21:18:01
Ray, Leicester have scored and they aren't winning so not sure what you are talking about. We weren't scoring last season either and we were pretty high in the table until Kilman got injured.

25.) 19 Sep 2022
19 Sep 2022 07:37:38
HandsomeLad, last season we went on a winning run by sticking to our established 3/5 at the back game. Many of those and even under Nuno were won by a single goal with our solid defense very often being the difference.
Once Lage tried to change things plus injuries, the results stopped coming. Changing the style of play and bedding in new players, which were for whatever reason late to arrive needs time, that's a fact. However, the Premier League doesn't offer that luxury, the stakes are too high. Whatever we the fans think Fosun will not standby and watch us get into a relegation scrap. That is actually the real world.

26.) 19 Sep 2022
19 Sep 2022 09:27:43
Maybe time to go 5 at the back with Neves in Codys role. Until Costa is fit I'm not sure there is much point in playing with 3 up front none of whom are regular scorers.
