Morning all how everyone well. Happy with the arrival of Mr. Wolfe, see Agent Larsen helped. Somehow it has made me feel a bit better and more confident more will follow ??

I was always sure we would get some in I was just not sure how many. As usual Wolves have sprung a bit of a surprise here as no one was talking about him until last week.
Right back or wing back is a must as is another centre back . Would like another striker but that may prove difficult as so many other clubs also want the same so maybe another no 10 would be a better option.
Anyway keep the faith lads

Let's hope we see an improvement tonight Nando, I share your concerns up front, but if Arias starts this evening and shows how he can link up we can relax a little, but we need to show we can score.

Well the match v Girona has gone well just like all the others. We look a mess for the start of the season.
I know there are other prem teams that haven’t had a good pre season but I’m not bothered at all about them I’m just so worried that we are really weak as a team and our bench is going to look the same. We had to dig deep last season to pull ourselves out of the mess but now with our best striker, ran, sarabia going we don’t look no where near good enough
What is your honest thoughts guys

Well arias came on and showed in can score, and yersons return brought a good save from a beautiful Hugo bueno corner and Larson had 2 attempts at their keeper.
They in turn showed how open we can be, the first looped over agbadu and with santi bueno late in his attempt their forward swept the ball in. Their second a superb curling shot from the 18yd line around Johnstone leapingdive into the top right. The young lad was allowed to cut onto his right foot by hoover and again santi was an observer as it went in.
Bits and bobs looked promising but at times we looked abit 'lost'.
Fer is definitely one to watch, with wolfes arrival and hopefully sanchez to bolster the back line we may be in a position to find our way up the table from last year.

My biggest worry is that over all the preseason games so far we haven't really put much pressure on the opposition goal area and have not tested their goalkeeper regularly. Some pretty and intricate build up play which looks good on the eye but so often amounts to nothing. The high press does keep the opposition under constant pressure but we get caught out with the long ball over the top. Fer Lopes looks comfortable with his role and our midfield two are awesome however Agbadoo is currently giving me the jitters with his casual play, needs to cut out the fancy stuff and do what he does best. Still work to do and the start of the season is looming.

I think these pre season friendlies are more of a reflection of current squad depth rather than actual first team capabilities, or what hopefully it may become.
At the moment thanks to the huge number of players offloaded that's going to be weak, a concern going into the season. However, there may still be a further 2 signings that plug a couple holes in the first choice.
Then VP has to get them all playing together as the season starts thanks to the last minute.com trend in buying. Which is why our August league returns are so meagre.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to these results in themselves other than use them to identify/confirm the areas that still need bolstering.

Derry, I've noticed agbadu not quite right. He openly admitted he was below par play wise against Stoke, but a couple of times now in the last two he seemed abit short tempered. Now I obviously don't know what went on on the pitch, but I do worry that he may have other things on his mind to contend with.
Another aspect that I'd like to see settled is the captaincy, last night it was Sa then toti then doc. I know the band got changed over on subbing but maybe the lads could do with knowing who the skipper actually is.

Hi Abbey,
Who would be your choice for the captains armband?
I personally wouldn't choose Toti and Doc won't be a regular starter. My view is also that goalkeepers should not be chosen as captain so that leaves Agbadoo, Andre and Joao Gomes.
A bit of a conundrum.

I agree Derry, no to GK as capt. But then we do get into a dilemma of sorts, ist choice would J Gomez, trouble is both he and Andre do get abit embroiled and vocal in the game, would this reflect badly when addressing the ref? The others all seem too young apart from Doc, who asylum printout maynot be a regular.
Last night larsen seemed to be talking alot, when lining a wall, to hoever on the ground etc. I'm not suggesting a forward be skipper just that larsen seems to have something influencing Fer and now Wolfe to join us. That's the man leadership, but we need a respected player who can see and direct so maybe it'd have to be toti, agbadu or yerson Derry. But VP works with em everyday and he'll know what he wants.

A natural captain always stands out, as in the case of Conor Coady. We have no one of that calibre now, that is why they are so disorganised. No leader.

Agree 100% Ray.
The asylum printout above was supposed to be 'as you say', me old fingers and predictive txt eh!
