Well that certainly stirred up a hornets nest, nice to hear from some of the long term and occasional posters on here. Pity it couldn't have been under happier circumstances. Quite a variety of views but the vast majority reaching the same conclusion. Some against GON's appointment from the outset some, after last season hoped he may grow in stature and become an inspired appointment and some hoping for the latter but knowing the club had sold him a pup and aren't really surprised at what's happening.
But he took the job and why wouldn't he it's another Premier League club on his CV. I've no doubt GON will become a good Manager one day but he will need to do more in the lower leagues or just have a better team to work with. I know we have some talented footballers but many are young having never set foot in this country before let alone played at this level. To give that group to a rookie coach with little managerial experience is in truth, unbelievable.
Supporting Wolves has always been a roller coaster but this feels more like Disney's runaway train which as many may know rises to dizzy heights only to be let go eventually ending up underground. Sadly, I think from a footballing perspective the owners have let go putting all their efforts into collecting the money from those being taken for a ride, literally.
So what's to do? The jury is no longer out on GON it's a majority verdict, but at the moment I don't think they will sack him. Partly because I believe they plan to see it through until January so they can hopefully re-enforce the defence then see what happens. I doubt they'll want to pay off yet another Coach/Manager, so soon after giving him a 4 year contract, so yes, penny shy £ foolish. It seems we have a lot of specialists in the club but experts in nothing as the decision making in recent years has lurched from raising peoples eyebrows to wtf.
Periodically, Fosun have rode in just in time a bit like the US cavalry to save the day but I doubt that will happen this time, they've probably sold the horses. Let's hope they prove me wrong.

When Fosun have sold off the crown jewels of the squad we will have the following to put in a Championship challenge.
GK : Johnson/Bentley
Defenders : Lima/Mosquera/Meupiyou/Toti/Pond/Bueno/Buenos
Midfield : Doyle/Andre/Traore/Bellegarde/Cundle
Forwards : Forbes/Strand Larsen/Gomes/Gonzalez/Kalajdzic
Plus any purchases we may make!

I repeat myself again, Fosun must make a statement of intent, be it keeping GON on for whatever reason, or dismissing him today. Until they tell us something conspiracies will abound.
Sort this mess out Jeff.

Good Post Derry.
If we do get relegated, I think as you have highlighted, there is the makings of a strong Championship side.
Fosun will be pleased, because big money will be made on sales and still leave a strong Championship squad, with plenty of wiggle-room for new players.
It just needs a solid management appointment to steer us back.
I would still hope (have done for the last 4 years), Fosun strengthen the senior Leadership team, it is our biggest weakness.

Don't think that's a strong championship side, Rugeley. Hopefully we'll never find out.Amazingly 6/4 is the general price on relegation and there are 3 teams at shorter odds, Saints, Ipswich and Leicester. Hate to say it but I might have a punt.

Interesting post Derry, two things here firstly I don't think even half those players would opt to play in Champ. Secondly with the way Fosun do contracts I'd be absolutely amazed if most of our players don't have a low lever relegation release clause. If we get relegated we could be in serious trouble cause we don't just lose the Prem broadcast money but we could also see a fire sale of our best talent (Cunha, Gomes and Andre) for a fraction of their actual value! ?
