Fosun paid £30 million for a championship club a few years out of League 1 with player assets worth very little that very few other clubs wanted to pay fees to sign. Technically if I recall correctly they brough the club for £10 with the clause of a £30m investment.
Fosun now own a club with 7 seasons in the top flight behind it and players worth more money that clubs want to sign. The TV money paid annually alone massively inflates the value of the club. They might not get £500 million but the fee paid originally isn't relevant.
If or when there are new owners it doesn't matter where they come from as long as they do right by the club. Unfortunately there are a lot of sharks out there even in US based consortiums. Just ask Villa what they think of Randy Learner, or Liverpool about their previous owners.

Morgan paid ten quid for us. Fosun paid £30mil and another £10mil due to a clause relating to promotion. Anyone who buys us would have to be ambitious, and that would probably mean a new stadium and team building. Buy Fosun out and spend hundreds of millions? Don't think so! I think the truth is that we overachieved in the first three great years under Fosun and instead of consolidating after Seville, Fosun lost the plot. They squandered a golden opportunity of making us a top six club. You can't change the past but you can learn from it. Fortunately we are still alive and kicking in the PL and have to play the long game now of gradual consolidation and progress.
