According to Harry Mansell on YouTube, it was Guo who stepped in and sacked RE, overriding everyone at the Club.
Interesting comments from TalkSport panel, with Simon Jordan unsympathetic, and Brad Friedel saying that in football at this level, when a new manager signs a contract he's just one day closer to the sack.

Interesting. Longmynd just reiterates what everyone is thinking, in that Nathan Shi has no authority, really, and it's still the same old Fosun epidemic. In reality, nothing changes there. Whatever Guo says, goes.
Simon Jordan is irrelevance personified, so who cares what he thinks.
Brad Friedel is spot on. Piexoto (Zenga 2), take note!

My typo earlier, Kenny Jackett, not Kenny Hackett. Thanks Doog947 for correcting my mistake.

Just asking, but which journalists or 'sources' do folks find most reliable? And, by contrast, which ones are not trustworthy at all?

The best is David Ornstein and John Percy followed by Fabrizio.
Alex Crook and anything posted by Sport Witness I tend to ignore, as it's usually incorrect or 2 days old.

Think it depends on where the player comes from, to be honest.
Fabrizio is pretty good on European targets, but slower on South American targets in the past.
Wolves are notoriously quiet on doing dealings, as they don't want to jeopardise the deal.
I would imagine someone at Gil Vicente or in Portugal took an easy pay day.
