Rob Edwards was originally told that information about his future being in doubt on Wednesday was inaccurate.
Matt Jackson then informed Rob Edwards on Thursday morning that he was sacked.
It's said that Edwards' sudden departure has caused 'outrage' in the Wolves dressing room.

Sky reporting that RE is away abroad on holiday ATM.
This makes the methodology of sacking him even more deplorable, even though he wasn't the man to take us forward.

When Fosun first took over and Kenny Hackett was given the 'ok', then 4 days later Jeff Shi sacked him because "not the person to take the club forward." Difference being that Kenny had been quite successful and for us had a win ratio of 46%. They were after Lopetegui at the time, but he took the Spain job and we ended up with Zenga, then Paul Lambert, before Nuno came along and made us into a good side. This new manager had a decent season, so I guess the idea of a "winning" manager appealed to our club management more. If I see the byline 'Crook' on a story, I tend to ignore it, especially regarding him 'knowing' what players are thinking or saying.
Most players are on holiday or at the World Cup, so at this moment there is no "dressing room" to be "outraged", but cheap news outlets use cheap 'reporters'.
The timing seems bad, I agree, but it does give the new guy time to put his own plan into action. Does anyone know about Rui Pedro Silva's situation? I would think he would stay, but who knows.
If there is a major fault here then to my mind it is with Fabrizio Romano for announcing stuff before RE had been told. He is rarely wrong, but I think he is the main reason this has gone poorly. That's just my opinion.

Kenny Jackett was certainly No 'Hackett'.

Reports suggest that the new coach was approached a month ago. Sounds like before the home match against Fulham. Did Raul know and approve when spoken to by Nathan? Maybe that made the difference. It annoys me when people say that Rob was recruited for the Championship.
He was actually recruited to keep us in the Premier League. 2/3 results aside, he failed miserably in that brief. Harsh to sack him now, maybe he should have been warned that his job wasn't safe. That's football, and he will get a handsome payoff for failure, happens all the time!

Been a while, but today's news dragged me
Back in, it's all seems out of the blue at the moment, but I'd say this has been in pipeline for a few a bit, it's a huge gamble if not. I liked Rob, but footballs a results game, and in the 7 months I didn't see any improvement apart from the odd game, we had a side that should have been competing with the bottom 6 or 7 sides on paper, but we failed badly, no shape or structure as with VP at the start, a good tradesmen cant keep blaming his tools for a bad job, you have to take ownership, and at times Rob blamed the tools towards the end too often.
I likeable lad, who possibly could have done a job in the championship, but Fosun seem to have other ideas on how they want to move forward from here, the proof will
Be in the pudding, it's a big gamble either way.
