in fairness to CP, he gets his team selection spot on every single week for me, ever since day one ive said he could be our best ever manager since nuno.
i really dont enjoy how open we are in midfield and also how wasteful we are in attack.
we are never comfortable in games because of how high up the pitch we play while being so exposed to counter attacks.
i much preferred the footy under nuno where we just absorbed pressure for fun and then hit hard on the counter.
i think its a better footballing philisopy as a whole. for numerous different reasons.
i do like cesar... i think his team selection is always bang on and i love how he's reintegrated all the players after last season.
krejci has been excellent last few games.
mosquera has been very good next to him.
andre is crazy at getting out of tight spaces.
rafiki i cannot tell if hes left or right footed..
munetsi is my fav player for sure.. because i appreciate his work rate and defensive contributions
doyle was actually class when he came on last night. and thats cesar too giving him that redemption chance
trips been solid making me forget about tchatchoua
jose sa been ok.. potentially the best keeper in this league
bueno has had to fight to show he can handle the physicality of this this league and hes done well
JJ needs to stay fit and play in the 10
lopez is better on the right for me
armstrong and neave up top in a 442 i dont mind that at all infact i like it a lot especially if james is injured
jrb... looked better in the prem...
mane..keep at it son im loving what your doing off the bench
rodrigo.. same story.
wheres bouba?
chiwera... looks decent
i thought boro would storm this league the way they played against us.. they still might but i rekcon this leauge is truly wide open.
theres a chance we could go top this week and stay there comfortably.
when we had that freekick in extra time last night i was 100% certain it was going out for a goal kick. not a doubt in my mind.
knowing that we have that in the locker moving forward could be massive.
krejci has been absoltely sensational in this last week i have to say. hes showing proper levels to his game that show why he captains his national side.

You beat me to it OWT. I know I mostly only get to see the highlights but I do get a bit mystified by some of the criticisms aimed at certain players and of course the Coach. I said from the outset I liked CP's approach and felt it would yield dividends and so its transpiring.
We all know the real reason for being in the Championship so why ignore that and pick on those having to live with the consequences.
Having said that I've just read the Man City tribunal transcript so thank goodness Fosun didn't go off in that direction. One thing did surprise me was how crude the structure of the deceptions actually were and why it took a Portuguese hacker and a German newspaper to expose it. You would have thought such a rags to riches story would have raised a few eyebrows closer to home much earlier.

I think there's a lot more to come out on the city circumstances longmynd. A few hushed up and ignored connections, and maybe we'll never know exactly who recieved and influenced goings on.
The punishment(s) will be interesting to say the least, in more ways than one I suspect.

OWT - how do you reconcile your first two sentences?
Great selection but open in midfield and wasteful in attack?
Surely with better selections the 2 issues could addressed.
In fact I'm fairly certain that dropping Munetsi and playing a more disciplined and skilful player - such as James, Slow Traore or Doyle - would achieve the first of these 2 issues?
I accept the other one is much harder to resolve as the squad lacks the talent to play the current system efficiently but perhaps a different system might get more from the players the club does have?

i can certainly reconcile that for you.
in terms of the 4231 that cesar is adamant on playing. i think his selections are bang on every time.
having said that. i still think we are far too open in the midfield and i dont like how the 4231 we play leaves us so exposed to counter attacks. thats why i'd prefer to go back to the back 5 and not try and dominate posession but rather just play on the counter like we used to because i think it makes us more clinical when we do attack and less likely to concede when we are defending.
and nuno is the best ive ever seen at playing this way. he really enstilled the dark arts into our defense.
who remembers that FA cup game agaisnt united. we were so devastating on the counter and so solid at the back and ive never been happier watching wolves.
obviously we got found out by watford in the semis but we were 2-0 up. at wembley. dendoncker gave away a needless pen. not nunos fault.

OWT - I'm far from certain the side actually plays 4,2,3,1 even if that is how the manager states he wants them to play.
With Munetsi in the side it often morphs into a chaotic 4,1,5 which def leaves the side far too easy to play through.
I'd prefer 4,3,2,1 as this not only solidifies the defence but I cant really see the point in playing 2 wide players in your 4.2.3.1 when that means you have to either play players out of position - like Armstrong - or play substandard players like JRB or Said.
Ps I loved Nuno and the 5 at the back. It was so reassuring you almost forgot the possibility of the team conceding and could just enjoy waiting for Wolves to score and then win the game. The man was a genius and appallingly treated by the club as sadly were several of his players including Coady mentioned elsewhere on the board today.
