There's a vital difference between RAN and Neves even though they have Wolves to thank for their emergence as elite players.
RAN was in it purely for the money and couldn't wait to get away. Let him rot on the Citeh bench. Neves admittedly went for the money initially but his heart remains at Wolves.
He was at the West Brom match. Wasting his career? Not so sure, he correctly foresaw rising standards over there, times are changing, it's no longer all about money.

1. RAN is highly unlikely to come back to Wolves in the near future due both the wages he is currently on and the range of options he would have between where he sits at City - a top side in Europe - and Wolves - a championship side.
2. Even if RAN as people say couldn't wait to leave - and that is of course pure speculation - firstly who could blame him for wanting to leave Jeff Shi's Wolves for City and a massive pay rise but secondly it is far more obvious that Wolves couldn't wait to push him out of the door to generate funds for whatever it is that Jeff did with the funds Wolves raised. He was sold for both a stupidly low price and in an obscene hurry. Liverpool extracted £10m for a player, TAA, out of contract i.
e. available on a fee to speed up the sale. Wolves sold just as quickly, a player under contract, for tragically little more than TAA was sold for, especially once the fee owed to his former club was taken into account.
3. If by some miracle he came back on loan this Jan it would be an astonishing coup and he would be the best player on the side by a long long way.
I struggle to understand how Wolves fans disrespect a player who along with Cunha - another massively disrespected - carried the side to survival against the odds in their last season at the club.
If Fosun and Jeff in particular had been as talented and committed to Wolves as those 2 the club wouldn't be in the championship and in such a financial strait jacket.

Who can blame players wanting to leave if the club or the owners don't show the same ambition as the players & if a top six club comes in & offers to triple your salary why wouldn't they. IMO it's how you leave a club that's important & I can't remember RAN going on strike like that rodent Nunes, or being a complete waste of money like Guedes & Fabio, in fact RAN was one of our better & more creative players during our seasons of decline under Jeff.
Unfortunately I agree that it's very unlikely we'd get RAN back even on loan, but I'd welcome him back. Why not?

It isn't nice losing good players but never held anything against a player if they go about it the right way. Neves was open and honest about his reason and respectful. He will always be a Wolves legend.
I think RAN would have a few club offers that are in a better position than Wolves. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up going to UTD considering they tried to get him last minute in the summer window.
