Stupid question, I know, but if we have sold 22-23k season tickets, then why don’t we sell more if there is a waiting list? Or do we have to keep a certain amount back for general sale?

Well obvs you have to allow for away allocation, but beyond that, VB, I think the reality is that in modern footy it's not in clubs' interests to push the season ticket model. It's precisely why many Prem clubs have got very militant about missing games. It's just logical, if you think about it, because by their very nature season tickets offer match tickets at a reduced price.
Add to that, those fans going less often are also far more likely to head to the club shop and spend a load of money as well. So, in short, clubs prefer to limit season ticket numbers, cause it just makes more sense financially. ?
