Very good goal by the Celta Vigo number 30. A nice curling effort from just outside the box. Some lad called Fer Lopez. Wolves could do with a player like him.

Haven't seen it yet but it doesn't surprise me at all. I honestly think because of our recent past many fans have tarred this lad with the Fabio brush (which is understandable given the circumstances). However, I think this lad has some SERIOUS potential, especially given the fact that he looked more dangerous/handy in his handful of apps than Fabio did in four years! I think this has been my biggest issue with the window so far (and apologies again Mol if I took it out on you:).

Because this kid can pass quick and spot a through ball, as he showed in his limited apps, sadly we lack the players/quality these day to know what a through ball is!
I REALLY hope he comes back next year, ready to take the Champ by storm because I REALLY worry that if we let him go on the cheap/at a loss that this kid could become our Vitinha mark 2! ?

He did well in his cameo but tbf the teams were a big drop in standard from those Wolves have to face week in week out as exemplified by the respective lines being lead by two near 40 year olds. Hopefully he'll get more game time in the league to boost his confidence.

Sadly BB like Trincao, who was a player with obvious talent and who is now a successful player in Portugal and to a lesser extent even Guedes, my fear is not his talent level but his physical (and in Trincao's case at least), mental strength.

He may have the talent to play in Spain but does he have the heart and body to play in the far more physical and less well reffed English leagues?

Future, this is part of the problem with our addiction to sourcing players with no PL experience. They might look good in videos, but can they hack it in the PL? Nine times out of ten, they can't. Then we sell them cheaply and they go back to looking good in videos.

In our case, Jota, Cunha and Neto were the obvious exceptions, and they were all the more valuable because they proved they could do it in the PL.

I hear what you guys are saying but I do think this is all a little premature. Let's be honest of those mentioned only Jota turned up ready to deliver and even then he had a first season in the Champ to find his feet. Neto spent his first season or so as an impact player while Cunha was basically dead weight for his first half a season with us! Lopez has played a grand total of 392 mins at the club, that's less than FIVE full matches!
And this is where you are half right gents, cause a large part of the problem is also that the other luxury that Jota, Neto and Cunha had was that they were all joining an already talented squad.

Lopez on the other hand has been bought in to replace a £60+m player and told at the grand old age of 21 that he needs to be ready to carry a heavy load for the (very lacking) creative force of a VERY average team! I'm not saying he's destined for greatness but I do think there's a quality player there. Like I say would like to see him given a crack in the Champ, if he's up for it. Time will tell ?

Bully, I'm all for giving Lopez an opportunity in the championship. Remember, Jota started that way. We will never know if Jota would have prospered if he had been thrown into the deep end in the PL, but the champ toughened him up in preparation.
