How many times does it need to be said Demon?
Gomes wants to come to Wolves it is Flamengo who are being awkward having going back on an agreement already.

I want to buy my neighbours car for £10k but someone else has offered £11k.
Just pay the extra for Gomes and be done if we want him.
We are led to believe we paid £35m for Fabio and £27m for Guedes and then just loan them back out so an extra million for a player Lopetegui thinks can improve us and will go up in value is a no brainer and keeps us well in with Flamengo the biggest club in Brazil.

Have to agree with @E from Wombourn, just match Lyon's offer. According to reports it's not much higher than Wolves' offer. And as E right says, we've paid for more for players. Or have Wolves cottoned on to being hoodwinked?

I think it's all a ploy by that journalist tbh I think he is trying to draw up offers.
If Flamengo had really said to Wolves match Lyons offer I think Wolves would have shelled out the extra £1million tbh.
I do agree with Es view on this, my point was though no matter what the club do Demon is always negative we could sign Mbappe, Messi etc he'd still be negative about it.

Before I take any advice from certain posters and post elsewhere; if they are still satisfied with what they are seeing after yesterdays garbage-City or not-they must be easily pleased. Same old problems, same old style and most worryingly a head coach who despite some early promise is seemingly doing little to solve the goalscoring problem. Oh and Lampard has gone.new man in.

@Rated RKO - the tell tale sign of trolls is trying to sew the seeds of discourse. RadioHead was finally called out by Ed001 yesterday.

Ofcourse QS like we was expected to wallop City 9-0 eh?
Honestly no-one is happy with where we are but progress is being made 3 more signings are expected one of them probably Gomes and then i'd imagine a striker and RB.
Lampard going could be a disaster for Everton too he has experience of relegation battles, look what happened to Burnley when they got rid od Dyche.

QS JL obviously had a plan yesterday and it wasn't with intent on a goal fest. It was holding until neves gave the penalty and Sa inexplicably the 3rd. Without that JL could have produced the fresh legs in pods sarabia and who knows we may of nicked a point. We cocked it up on the pitch. JL now has time to sort his ranks and prepare for pool again. As ever I'm trusting and believing the gaffer.

In other news I see that the 'saviour' Danny Ings that some on here berated the club for not signing (at £15m) has picked up an injury in his 20 min cameo for WHU (shock!:). They reckon he'll be out for 'several weeks' however long that is! I feel for the guy so not aimed at him but hopefully a reality check for one or two on here! If we'd signed him by the time he'd got back from injury it'd all have pretty much been decided eitherway!
I keep reading the words 'proven scorer' and 'out and out striker' or but can someone please tell me what that means for a club like ours?! Some seem to think it's just about signing someone with a good record but Ings record is excellent. Well his goal scoring record, saddly not his injury record!
So here's a challenge for ya, those posters asking for a 'proven striker' instead of writing that (it's boring and I've read it too many times) tell us the name of who YOU think will solve the issue? Genuine question, cause I'm not sure 'proven strikers' even exist unless you are top four (or Newc)?!

I would've said yes to Ings if he wasn't blighted with injuries.

I agree with what you say Bullysboy,we definitely need a goalscorer but who is the question? We don't score many goals as we all know. The players that Wolves have bought as strikers have not been successful. But there must be someone out there who can score goals for Wolves. Any suggestions from anyone?

I tried to make this point the other day about proven strikers. A proven PL striker won't come to Wolves. They would want top 4 or 6 and European football. A striker from the Championship draws the "Hasn't done it at top level complaint. A striker from overseas the "Might not adapt to English football or be up to the PL" criticism. Anyone under 23 is too young. Anyone 30 or over too old. So we're looking for a proven PL striker aged 23-29 who is within budget and wants to play for Wolves. I don't believe that player exists, so we have to take a gamble which may or may not come off.

Having been a viewer of this site for a number of years I have never felt an incliation to contribute to discussions.

After seeing the above post from Bullysboy and AlexWolf however I felt the need to say I completeley agree with their observation.

There are a number of posters on here and a well know Midland newspapers who insist each week we must sign a "proven pemiership goalscorer" without ever saying who these players are.

All the proven premiership goalscorers are currently playing in the Premiership and will not be coming to Wolves.

We must trust in our new manager to use the players at his disposal and I for one am confident he will do so.

But there in lies the rub/truth of it Debs, if he wasn't blighted with injury he wouldn't have been availible to a relegation threatened team for £15m! He would have already been at a top club way beyond such teams reach!
Welcome Wolfdad, I'm in agreement. I actually think most of what we need to stay up is now at the club. The only other ingredient will be time, let's just hope Lope has enough of it eh ?

Trouble is it's not easy to get a so called proven striker. If we had the money and he would have come to us would you have signed Darwin Nenez? At the minute cows bum and banjo would describe him, I have no doubt he'll come good but probably not this year. Be great if we could get one but I'd be surprised if we managed to do it.

If the offer had already been accepted, then changing your mind and accepting another offer is not very professional or businesslike.
Or course, it might be different in South America.

Hansome. Nest of vipers. Though to be fair others don't appear to have a problem. Certainly City seem to manage to make signings easily enough.
