Liam Keen and Nathan Judah saying that at the moment, the club can't afford Alex Scott or any semi-notable signings. Was reported last night in the E&S review of the Porto game. Don't know what has gone on behind the scenes, but it was said that the club would need to sell more (like Max or Fabio) to bring in players like Scott.

Because of the fiasco behind the scenes regarding money we might struggle to stay up this new season, more players will be sold and no new players will come in, Lop will leave and supporters will be lobbying for fosun/shi to go it will be catastrophic for this club. (I hope not but it looks like it might go that way)

New poster so be gentle! I know it's not ideal but would it actually be worth letting max go? We've been linked with elvedi from gladbach for over a week now so could find a cheap reliable replacement in him? Let jonny go and being in Cresswell, I would like to see podence stay as I think he could start putting out some decent assists and goals for us but if not us what's left of max and podences sales to bring in Scott? Just a thought

Can we have some of that Middle Eastern money plz? (see Newcastle and Man City)

To be honest there is Sa, Podence, RAN, Fabio, beuno and kilman who'll be attracting offers, Kilmans the big bucks will he be the sacrificial lamb? Or others sold in order to retain him? Who knows where we're going and at what level of income do we need to balance things.?. Talk about mushrooms in the dark.

It’s cristal clear that the next one will be Podence and in my opinion RAN, Otto would be the nexts. Don’t know about Silva, don’t expect anything soon.

I don’t think that neither Kilman nor Sa are going to be sold, mainly because JLO wants to maintain some players that know the club and the PL that have weight in the dressing room.

I don’t expect any impactful signing til the end of August if so, the market is quite inflationary and until teams reduce prices we are not going to sign anyone.

Scott is too expensive. It’s a pity that Real Sociedad has sold Sorloth to the Villareal for 10M€ it would have been a good fit along Cunha.

Well one assumes that JLo is authorising the transfers, so I think we just have to trust in his judgement. As others have said Neves apart most that have left weren't guaranteed starters.

25m for Scott yes I think that's expensive for a player with no top flight experience when we can't afford to make expensive mistakes.

Regarding ffp I suppose its commercially highly sensitive information so I don't expect anyone from the club to explain anything. Maybe it's better or maybe worse than what's being publicly acknowledged.

Point is arddunby JL dosnt appear to be authorising sales, he said he didn't want to lose jiminez but that as he didn't hold is contract he had to accept it. He maybe consulted but he didn't sound as if he could no to the club. Hope he's got a plan C.

If our team get off to a decent start next season then l imagine JL may stay but we have a difficult start and if results go against us l can see him walking.
Where is Graham Potter these days?

Why are we getting punished and not forest Everton man city.i don't get it.look at Chelsea what they spent already looks like forest will buy a new team.have the club had £12 mil Liverpool got to pay us for Jota now it's time for fosun to stand up and tell us wots happening.u never no we could be manager less when we go to man utd and I don't blame him if he goes

Abbey I suspect Jimenez just didn't want to be at the club anymore.

What does it matter Wolfy46?
If you haven't got the money you simply can't spend it.
The club has been extremely well funded so far, but that spending has been massively wasteful. That simply cannot continue.
And if the money were made available and we slipped further and further into the red buying 'chance' players, what's happens then if they do not work out (again)?
I think we all need more faith in the squad that we do have.

Agree 100% Porthminster. Too many over-inflated underachievers from the Mendes stable. Who incidentally seems to have vanished now we appear to have no pot to p in. Now is the time for Mendes to unearth a few cheap gems for us.which of course he won't because there's no money in it for him.

I only repeated what JL said. It makes good sense for Raul to move under 'normal' circumstances, but at the moment it's all over the place.

26 Jul 2023 21:48:44
Abbey, I'm not being contentious and this is meant in good humour but what are normal circumstances at Wolves?

But yes I get your point it does look like a cash in decision with one year to go on a contract was taken.

27 Jul 2023 07:26:21
Absolutely arddunby, what is normal? I'd have thought given our inability to buy a replacement JL would have liked to have retained jiminez at present. One less player one less option. Again as he said, plan A gone, plan B gone.

Really good explanation from Ed 2 on the ‘other posts’ page on why we shouldn’t be too concerned with the FFP and how the club are doing things wisely by maintaining sustainability for the club.
Outgoings are more than income currently and spending on wages is more of a problem.
Thanks to Ed 2.

So looks like Lopetegui will be gone by Dec and we should get used to the fact we are going to be in Championship soon. I think it's about time we asked questions as to why we have FFP and anyone owned by a ________ can get away with it. Just saying. It seems as if they are rewarding those that literally funded 9/11

Funny how Chelsea had to part ways with their owner over Russia but not Newcastle or City.

I don't really think he cared if Jimenez left. He didn't specifically have to ask for him to leaves but he was OK with it.
