Ed 001, as Ed002 is understandably not forthcoming on who Wolves may be able to bring in, I was hoping you may be able to help.
Unfortunately one of the knobheads on here ruined any chance of Ed002 providing any info.
Also, will the potential Podence deal to Celtic have any impact on this?
Thanks in advance

Tommo1970

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry I have no idea. I don't get involved in the transfer stuff these days. I have too much to do researching and writing articles to have time to chase up info on them. It is not worth the abuse anyway.}

1.) 16 Aug 2023 10:49:22
Don't blame you Ed001. You're only a professional journalist, writer, researcher, football expert and you probably have the best of modern information technology at your fingertips. How can you compete with the likes of the Asda delivery driver for Wolves rumours? You can't beat a man with a van, so no contest. Don't even need VAR to check that.

{Ed001's Note - exactly, though not sure I have ever been described as any of those things before!}

2.) 16 Aug 2023 12:14:32
Fair enough mate thank you anyway.
I’m afraid the knobheads have ruined this site for me. I enjoy the comments from Jas M, Phil, rated and TFIOG bit of things have got to a stage where Ed’s can no longer share info then no point for me.
Thank you to the genuine posters named above and to the Ed’s for the work and info over the years.
I’m done m best of luck all

3.) 16 Aug 2023 13:34:35
Be sad times to see you go Tommo. You always come across as one of the good guys. Shame a few mindless idiots have ruined such a well run and informative site for you. Reconsider?

4.) 16 Aug 2023 13:57:34
I can see where you're coming from Tommo. I too enjoy and respect many of the knowledgeable fans on this site but sometimes the twits are everywhere and spoil things for us all. I'm sure the Ed's views are sometimes unprintable!

5.) 16 Aug 2023 14:39:45
I enjoy your comments and posts too Tommo understand where you coming from.
All the best pal with wolves and also yourself and nearest with yours well being.

FOREVER WOLVES ARE WE.

6.) 16 Aug 2023 15:49:26
Why am I being brought into this? ???

7.) 16 Aug 2023 22:08:21
Tommo I totally understand where you're coming from. It has got a bit silly on here with some just coming on to spout their negativity making sensible, thoughtful debate difficult.

As for the relationship with Ed002, not sure what's gone on there or who said what to who but frankly life's too short, so I might not be too far behind you if this keeps up. I'm in the process of forming a motorcycle club in my hometown so I may have other fish to fry soon, pity because like you I've enjoyed the 'company' and the banter/comments on here.

So, enjoyed your contributions to date and hopefully, maybe you'll come back at some point in the future and if I'm still posting we'll 'meet' again.

8.) 17 Aug 2023 07:45:02
I think Tommo is on to something, there are posters in here that I regularly disagree with (and I'm certain the same goes for me), but they're just opinions and I believe most posters have genuine reasons for their views / thoughts.

But there are trolls that come here just to post drivel or go on the wind up. One in particular gets my back up constantly. But then there are the posters that make sense that can make critical comments without being dour. Add to that the Villa lads that stop by to send good wishes etc and Ben the Arsenal fan from yesterday.

I this site serves good purpose, I think it's great some of the regular posters come here and discuss if they're feeling down etc (men don't tend to open up that much) the EDs do a good moderating so as this place doesn't become toxic like social media.

In short, try and ignore the clowns / trolls - the good eggs make this site worthwhile.

9.) 17 Aug 2023 08:11:14
Isn't it a case of sticks and stones.

10.) 17 Aug 2023 08:37:59
Shame if you get on your bike Longmynd but all the best anyway.

11.) 17 Aug 2023 09:15:29
I see that the site is for any wolves fan to post all things wolves.
I've been regular roughly 5 years and joined to see who we going to sign.
At the time personal circumstances were the worst and then got even worse.
The site has helped me no end but always very concerned worried that my openness has been to the detriment of posters who just want to use the site for just wolves talk.
A while back a misunderstanding a poster posted very hurtful comments towards me of which I agreed he was correct.
The truth hurts.
This poster has no longer been on here.
The connections I've made with regular posters will stay with me forever.
But if I'm not on here it's through my own personal reasons and nothing to do with anyone on here, posters I have strong connections with, those who are trolls, those who post ludicrous unlogical posts its from only myself.
The Wolves are paramount and each and every poster has the right to post within the human ethical code.
There things comments I don't like but want to be the better person and just accept difference of opinions.
I admit I find it very hard to do so at times.

But I see posters may post when stressing about everyday life family kids mortgage cost of living the list is endless and can easily post in hast or post letting off pure frustration of the events occurring with our club the wolves.
So I want to get an image of how I think posters may or may not be coming from.
I have to think this way to remain.
If I don't post matchdays like I always have its down to my own circumstances.
Have had troubles and ongoing but nothing I can't get back up and carry on.
One day I will be happy again and the wolves is the one thing that is a constant to bring me that happiness.

Kindest regards each and every one of you.

FOREVER WOLVES ARE WE.

12.) 17 Aug 2023 12:09:42
Thanks OldWulf, nice pun btw. I've got room in my life for both if I'm honest but I come on here to generally show support for the club, question the things I don't support and enjoy the sensible comments and well thought out observations of others.

I accept that some use it to vent their frustrations which is actually not a bad outlet and I've always adopted Derry's point if any of it has been addressed to me. Let's just hope as we get into the season and our performances are rewarded everyone will feel a bit more encouraged.

13.) 17 Aug 2023 14:34:24
In my humble opinion it’s all about having respect for your fellow posters and Eds (and vice Versa).
Some posters or Eds have access to more information than others and in my opinion they should respect those with less information. The site in my view is to disseminate that information for those of us who have less information. I have made my thoughts known to the powers that be and they have chosen not to publish them.
Anyway COYW and respect to all sharing this site.

14 Aug 2023 00:14:01
Ed’s, could you give us any possible players we could looking at signing whether any fee involved, free transfers or loans?

Tommo1970

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid I have been told that there is nothing useful I can share with the Wolves page - so it is better not to.}

1.) 14 Aug 2023 10:35:10
Is that you can’t share or that there is nothing to share?

{Ed002's Note - There are a few things but it was made clear to me on this page that I shouldn't.}

2.) 14 Aug 2023 14:37:13
Not sure who would have said that to you ed' but don't let it stop you letting the rest of us know what's going on.
The majority here are itching for information that's beyond guess work and hearsay.

3.) 14 Aug 2023 14:51:01
Well for the sake of the decent players on here could ask that you reconsider that please. I know there are a significant amount of idiots on here who do not have a clue but still lots of decent people that would live to know your information and insights.
We would love to know what ‘few things’ are happening.
Thanks Ed

{Ed002's Note - We will see.}

4.) 14 Aug 2023 16:42:24
I think Ed 01 1s far more reasonable and helpful

{Ed002's Note - Then the answer is a clear no and I am sure you can get details of the players WW are interested in from Ed001.}

5.) 14 Aug 2023 22:41:23
? You asked for that Rollo! ?

6.) 14 Aug 2023 18:23:55
Thanks RolloWolf, and there is one of the idiots right there.
Ed002, is there anyway I can get the info if you without the knobheads being involved

7.) 15 Aug 2023 11:07:08
If you'd actually seen ed2 responses and attitude, you would know why ED1 is far more what we need Tommo

{Ed002's Note - And it is brain dead trash like you which means nothing gets shared with the site in respect of transfer interest.}

8.) 15 Aug 2023 13:51:21
Drop it Rollo no need for it.

9.) 15 Aug 2023 21:00:09
Happy to Rated.
All I'd say is just read ed02 responses.so who's trash and writing and with an attitude like that?
.from an editor .

08 Aug 2023 11:05:13
Can anyone confirm if Lopetegui has turned up for training today?

Tommo1970

1.) 08 Aug 2023 15:34:14
He turned up bet went straight into meeting apparently. Dunno who with or why but this is out of the ordinary by all accounts. Now allegedly meeting with the board, only one way this is going I'm fearing.

2.) 08 Aug 2023 17:26:56
Just discussing targets with the £250 million war chest he's been handed!By the way, those people mentioning Potter are in cloud cuckoo land - he now owns half the Caribbean after his Chelsea pay off.

3.) 08 Aug 2023 21:27:51
He’s gone. Disappointing. Let down. Not the professional we were sold on.
Can’t play football without balls!
Wolves forever ???

07 Jul 2022 23:47:46
Strap yourselves in boys, going to be a busy week both IN and OUT!
Oh and new kit might not be the only thing unveiled tomorrow ?

Tommo1970

1.) 08 Jul 2022 06:07:58
Oh Tommo, I really hope your upbeat posts result in something positive, anything!
It has been a grim few weeks so far.

2.) 08 Jul 2022 07:38:26
Are you talking about next week or today and weekend?

3.) 08 Jul 2022 08:01:40
Seen the away kit I like it, can’t see new player in it don’t like it

4.) 08 Jul 2022 10:50:56
Shirt looks good! Hope it's as good as it looks.
Fingers crossed let hope things happen soon!

5.) 08 Jul 2022 11:41:05
Sorry Tommo, the only transfers are out!
The owners are selling off the family silver or Silva!
We couldn’t even beat a Turkish club to a £2.5 million Euro deal for Sergio Oliviera!
We are busy!

6.) 08 Jul 2022 12:47:02
New to the page so be gentle. Something is not right at the club, Silva being loaned out with no loan fee, did Jeff and Sellers not learn anything last year with the Traore fiasco. They both need to leave our club asap, sick and tired of being lied to by Jeff, who's actually spinning more lies than number 10. Why loan players out before the squad is put where Bruno requires, even more weak than last year for depth. Just need some clarity of what's going on as certainly not happy with season ticket increases and no player recruitment. I will NOT be buying any merchandise this year (normally get my lad the home and away shirts as a minimum, but not this year)

7.) 08 Jul 2022 13:14:21
? i'd say boycot buying the home shirt tbh as I went to the club shop yesterday and tge quality is awrful plus the design on the home is lazy with no ambition with the design

8.) 08 Jul 2022 13:49:25
@Radiohead ????

9.) 08 Jul 2022 15:39:57
Sad all we are doing at this stage of the window are damn shirts! ?
You'd think that the way they have been so clear and positive at sending players out on loan that could have been part of the squad we'd have the same on incoming! But it's the Shi and Sellars show so I suppose it's what we've come to expect from them.
We could do with some positives quickly to lift our spirits!

10.) 08 Jul 2022 22:11:09
Well said Deb's. We have a thin squad and it's getting thinner. I pray the situation changes. I want to be wrong.

04 Jul 2022 14:19:00
Just heard Wolves are allowing the E&S to start revealing little bits of news as they heat up to unveiling signings.
The new contract I was told about is coming out today.

Tommo1970

1.) 04 Jul 2022 15:24:13
Cheers Tommo!

2.) 04 Jul 2022 16:10:39
Also E and S confirmed that we pulled out of Palininha deal as his style of play not what we're really looking for. Seems only Fulham interested after that, read into that what you want.

3.) 04 Jul 2022 16:10:39
Also E and S confirmed that we pulled out of Palininha deal as his style of play not what we're really looking for. Seems only Fulham interested after that, read into that what you want.

4.) 04 Jul 2022 17:22:36
There is also a rumour that Coady will move to holding midfield slot this season whenever Lage plays his back four.

5.) 04 Jul 2022 20:20:27
Sensible Thommo as it's the only place he could play. Plus it means we can switch without making a sub though that's not that important now!

6.) 04 Jul 2022 21:26:22
didn't the Shropshire star report Moutinho's new contract at 14:05?

7.) 04 Jul 2022 17:16:48
Um just read the article and let's be honest gents it has nothing to do with his 'style of play' because the club are well aware of that through scouting before they even meet! What that REALLY means is that we didn't want to meet his wage demands! Now I'm not saying the club are wrong on that, I can't because I don't know the details but time will tell if we dropped the ball or if Fulham have signed (another) over paid cm!

8.) 04 Jul 2022 22:51:27
No idea STH, but I guess you are saying I read it and then posted something the same?
That’s up to you pal but I have been posting what I know from someone who is involved since he joined the club 7 years ago and it’s almost always been correct. Sometimes I get to know further in advance and sometimes not but if you scroll back I did post this information about 9 or 10 days ago (just wasn’t told what actual day until today).
Or maybe you would prefer me not to bother?
Just a question for you though. Why are you bothering to read a rumour website then ridicule
Someone for posting a rumour.
I’m getting to the point where I may not bother at all. At least the realist argues a point even if I don’t agree.
Well the first part of what I was told has happened so hopefully we will announce the 2 signings that were sorted last week very soon.
That may well be it for me guys, it’s just not worth posting as it’s not pleasant.

9.) 04 Jul 2022 23:35:23
Don’t let idiots deter you from posting I saw those posts and it’s given me some hope for the season Tommo don’t let the simple few spoil it for the many on here

10.) 05 Jul 2022 07:37:52
Tommo, I am still with you. Please keep posting, as you appear to be one of very few with some sort of insight to the goings-on at the Club.

11.) 05 Jul 2022 09:01:06
Dont let them grind you down Tommo, like others have said your posts are a great sensible read.

12.) 05 Jul 2022 09:27:01
Tommo, you're a credible source - don't stop posting, they're warmly received.

13.) 05 Jul 2022 10:52:46
With the above Tommo. Ignore the idiots.

14.) 05 Jul 2022 11:53:26
Ditto on that Tommo, the more sensible posters on here the better. I rate your comments.

15.) 05 Jul 2022 13:44:58
I am not an idiot but I am entitled to my thoughts, comments and opinions like everyone on here. Just because it doesn’t fit with your views doesn’t mean you have to be rude. As others have posted on here quite recently, a lot of the ‘inside knowledge’ is made up, as happens in the media and just copied, think about it, do reporters actually know what clubs are actually saying to players? Or what’s in a contract? No of course they don’t. Players sign new contract all the time, we have a number who are in that position, the real mark of insider knowledge is if the player is named, and where are all the players we were going to sign? Posts have suggested multiple signings last week when that didn’t happen oh it’s now this week. Real insider knowledge will name players and when there going to sign not vague guesses dressed up to be ‘contacts say’ etc. That it my view and you may think differently and that’s fine, what I won’t do is be rude or condescending.

16.) 05 Jul 2022 13:56:04
Tommo keep them coming pal! Not everyone is a doubting Thomas! I find them well worth a read. You can never be 100% on when announcements are going to come and you have more than anyone else got some idea! I await more news albeit without much patience tbh.

17.) 05 Jul 2022 14:34:57
One objective thought on the matter, and this is not having a go at anyone on the site, just an observation. Who are the 2 players that have already signed? or what country are they from at least? that were waiting for an announcement. A credible source or contact would reveal that BEFORE it is announced wouldn't they? because that's what a contact or source does, that's what's they're all about, otherwise what's the point of having them? if you name names after they appear in the public domain doesn't point to having a 'contact'. A lot of us are seeking some quality players, I just can't see that given the recent club survey on our transfer dealings, which shows that the vast majority have no confidence in the current structure, why would the club sign players then keep them secret inviting more criticism? does that make sense? Anyway there was no intention to upset Thommo or anyone else so please keep posting, I have said my bit and will say no more on this subject.

18.) 05 Jul 2022 15:14:18
There is no need for anyone to stop posting. At the end of the day we all have Wolves at heart. It is obvious though that after the end of last season there is an urgent need for strengthening the team. The new season is a few short weeks away and the squad is actually weaker. The last few games they had two keepers on the bench due to lack of numbers. That is no way to run a Premier league team, without further investment the club is only going one way.

19.) 05 Jul 2022 16:14:51
STH I never said my contact could name names but as he has said to me many times only a very few people know when they actually press ahead and sign them.
Unfortunately my contact isn’t close enough to know names but does see and hear when things are happening, hence my post a fortnight ago about the media guys putting two separate presentation together.
So no, my contact isn’t close enough to tell me names this time round but he was close enough when the takeover was happening and Semedo. I got in trouble over the takeover post as I revealed too much and was told I could not name Semedo before it happened either.
Anyway, he is not sure why things haven’t been announced yet but presumes it because they have been given extra time due to internationals.
Sorry but he is the closest contact I have and he is reliable.

20.) 05 Jul 2022 17:07:10
tommo. I saw your rebuff of the doubters. I haven't been looking at this site long, but you carry on posting. Don't let stupid people dictate your life. Just ignore them. Greetings from Somerset.

21.) 05 Jul 2022 17:25:31
Keep it going Thommo know we’ve had our ups and downs
But it’s all tongue in cheek and good banter
You seem like a sound guy and Wolves through and through
Anyway I’m the pantomime baddie so behave yourself ????

22.) 05 Jul 2022 18:34:24
I trust your post tomorrow as I have heard similar things happening, the place I work for is doing a lot for wolves and built the training ground and stadium dressing rooms and was recently working on the staff changing rooms at the training ground, and got job lined up for the youth and u23 changing rooms, so I hear a few things that are going on through people who are working on site

23.) 05 Jul 2022 23:48:49
I hope you had a lovely holiday Realist.

21 Aug 2024 00:21:29
Hey guys, been nearly a year since posted as got fed up with posters just talking rubbish and then ridiculing rumours on a rumours page!
Also took the time to come to terms with bereavement and devastating health issues.
Hope the Ed’s are well and the posters I respect Phil, Jas, etc…
Guys, calm down over transfers.
Mosquera is better than Kilman!
Rodrigo Gomes is the Neto replacement!
We have Podence, Fabio, Guedes to sell yet plus another £20m to spend. Let’s judge the window when it has closed!
Good to be back

Tommo1970

1.) 21 Aug 2024 02:54:14
Hope you're ok now Tommo mate.

2.) 21 Aug 2024 06:05:06
Morning Tommo.never good to hear someone has had problems. Always good to hear things back on the up.
ps
Like you, feel it is still early days and the clickbait media just wind readers up with made up nonsense most of the time. I am still travelling optimistically.

3.) 21 Aug 2024 06:57:16
Another voice of reason, sorry to hear of your problems Tommo hope you're through it all now.

I agree, there's no point moaning at the moment as the window is still open, judge it after it's closed. As for rumours, like all clubs Wolves will have numerous 'hares running' as most enquiries come to nothing. So many rumours may have an element of truth, some will be clickbait, who knows?

4.) 21 Aug 2024 12:48:56
All the best Tommo. Sound rational thinking. Had a lot of irrational speculation on here of late. Welcome back.

5.) 21 Aug 2024 19:21:12
Yeah Tommo. It's a rumour page but some try to argue with you for relaying something you read.

6.) 21 Aug 2024 21:48:55
Finally someone who also thinks Mosquera is better than Kilman. Feels like some of the people complaining are the same ones who said kilman wasn’t good enough last season.

09 Aug 2023 14:06:49
So our current predicament is that we have a few days before the season starts and we have no manager. Although finance is not a problem we have no room to spend money to bring players in due to FFP.
So;
we are looking for someone who is available today or tomorrow in order to prepare the team for Monday.
We need someone who has recent knowledge of the premier league and won’t need time to settle in to a new country/league.
We need someone who has knowledge of our players and those of the other premier league teams having planned and prepared to play them already.
We need someone who has experience of taking on a team written off for relegation and with little or no money to spend.
Finally we need a coach (not a manager) and one who has proven he can get things out of young players that other couldn’t.

He may not be a Stella name or a sexy appointment but Gary O’Neil ticks every box on that list.

In our current situation he is the perfect choice however, he may not be in a years time when we can spend again while others are facing the same restrictions.
Whilst Potter is the more attractive name our current plight might not make us the most attractive to him!
However, if the rumoured list of candidates spoken to is anything to go by then G O’N should be welcomed with open arms as the alternatives of Beale, Lampard and Solskjear would surely have had us all seeing our own arses!

Tommo1970

1.) 09 Aug 2023 14:24:36
Dear god, please don't tell me Lampard was on a potential list of managers?

2.) 09 Aug 2023 14:37:28
Make perfect sense Tommo, ?

3.) 09 Aug 2023 15:11:39
Oneil it is then, I'm not convinced, but will back him, as per usual. Hope he proves me wrong,
Coyw

4.) 09 Aug 2023 15:13:39
It's official, three year contract for O'Niel. A relegation battling manager for a relegation battling team, well done Jeff you've out done yourself. If this back fires I hope we hound you put of the city, the man's a joke! ?

5.) 09 Aug 2023 15:44:16
Yes Debbie, Lampard was a candidate.
Apparently Nuno was muted but he is on a fortune in Saudi.
Like I say, O ‘Neil ticks the boxes for our current situation but I’m surprised he has a 3 yr contract.

6.) 09 Aug 2023 19:03:09
What more can I say except bravo Tommo1970, finally some common sense and optimism.

7.) 09 Aug 2023 20:11:20
I entirely agree with the view that O'Neil is a logical appointment under the circumstances. Also, despite everything being said in the media, I'm not even convinced it's a given that we are in for a relegation battle. If the new manager can get the players on board and coach a few goals into them, we may surprise some of the doubters.

03 Aug 2023 13:28:02
Patching was very much in the Billy Rafferty, Norman Bell group of fringe players and regular subs. It was my first era of watching Wolves and my fond memories may have slightly clouded my ‘legend’ tag I must agree

Tommo1970

1.) 03 Aug 2023 13:53:33
Sorry this should have gone in the thread below about Cauley Woodrow/Martin Patching

{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate, easily done.}

2.) 03 Aug 2023 15:16:53
Ed 001, do you have any update on any players Wolves may be able to sign. with some reports saying we are making bids for players and others saying we cannot buy at all we are all in limbo.
With the silence at Wolves we don’t know if they can spend if they sell Podence and Jonny or whether that will make any difference.
Some posters have pissed off Ed 002 so he won’t explain the actual issue but he does say not to get hung up on FFP.
Problem is we don’t know where that leaves is because the current squad will really struggle to stay up.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know who Wolves are in for, but there are loads of players they could possibly go for. There is no point worrying about FFP as it is done over 3 years and there are many ways around it. The issue is Fosun are based in China, which makes it very difficult to know what they are doing or thinking or planning. They do seem to be cutting their losses at the moment and you don't sell a feeder club if you intend to invest heavily, as they allow you to hide FFP issues. There is a reason Citeh keep buying clubs, allowing them to move players around and have nominal sums of money to keep them FFP compliant. The worry with Fosun is they are looking to get out of the sport altogether. I don't know and have no way to find out.

As for players, you just have to look for young, up-and-coming players who are cheaper. Lopetegui has plenty of experience of shopping in that market and should have an idea of some potential players from the Spanish leagues.}

3.) 03 Aug 2023 15:58:26
Nice reply Ed001! makes things a lot clearer.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Debbie.}

4.) 03 Aug 2023 17:42:30
Tommo mate I posted a list of out of contract players we could potentially sign further on down.

5.) 03 Aug 2023 17:42:58
Thanks Ed, appreciate the clarity!

Fosun are not trying to sell our club. Please read the letter from Jeff Shi.

7.) 03 Aug 2023 19:36:32
Cheers Ed, Debs is right that really helps give us all some context ?
Penko who's that for?! Not aware of anyone saying they were selling on this thread?! Also I've read Jeff's letter and to me it reads like a standard politicians response. Let's be honest here Penko he isn't going to write a letter to fans saying:
'Sorry guys we massively underestimated how exspensive this whole Prem Club lark is and now we have other parts of the Fosun portfolio tanking like a lead balloon due to liquidity problems. So we are looking at our long term sale options for the club. Oh and by the way whilst we are doing that we are going to have to spend as little as possible as a poor FFP record does not help when trying to drum up interest in buying a club. The result of all this may end up with the club being in a relegation battle this season and/or our current manager walking! But not to worry because we've sent you all a token gift with your season ticket!' ?

8.) 03 Aug 2023 19:54:44
I think we all got to put everything behind us and surport manager etc and especially the players.lets give them 100% surport fosun knows what their doing.just remember theirs going to be a lot of teams getting punished hard etc sit back and enjoy watching them fight for their lives in prem .I think we got a good squad and if we get behind them surport them show them.

9.) 03 Aug 2023 20:11:28
BB, I'm not suggesting that Jeff Shi is going to do anything, at least we have an insite from one of the top brass within our club.

I've been in business for 40 odd years, a supporter of the club since 1965, when my dear old dad, used to take me to St.Andrews as he was a blue nose through and through. I take a lot of pride in the club / team I support, and must confess to be getting annoyed with the constant knocking / back stabber by some on this forum, that whatever the club does, is simply not good enough. They've made mistakes, both in management team and players purchased - but the doom-mongers and perpetual moaners need to understand the financial implications, and yes Fosun are a successful worldwide business, but there are financial constraints the likes of Everton, Chelsea, Man U, Villa and latterly Newcastle, seem to be able to wriggle round.

The letter from Jeff Shi, should have come earlier, but I for one can see the wood through the trees. In Julen Lopetegui we have a first class man-manager, he has a good background team with him. A couple of new signings would be appreciated, but we all need to take heed of the information provided today, and understand our club is in safe hands.

Here's to another season in the premier league, I think we could be a surprise package!

10.) 03 Aug 2023 21:22:39
I believe with you Penko.

To me what I've thought posted in past was in the letter.
Through believing in the project and accepting when things don't go all the way what we all want.

But from previous feed below and recent posts we are all wolves irrespective of difference of outlook.

Halftimepie apologies for not understanding your post in feed below.
May we have more rub of the green to help kick-start of scoring more goals and winning matches.
No injuries shots going in off the woodwork, shots not saved etc etc etc.

11.) 03 Aug 2023 23:58:14
Great response Penko/Phil and I really do VERY genuinely mean that! ?
And I do get where you are coming from and it's great to hear how you got into Wolves Penko (despite being surrounded by Blue noses) great stuff!
In response I would just say that I dislike the tribal approach that tends to occur on here (and all footy forums:) it assumes you are either for or agaisnt, optimistic or pessimistic. And (as you'll both know from your many years of experience) that's just not how life works in the real world, people are nuanced. So whilst I agree Fosun have definitely been a force for good since they arrived (I think anyone would find it hard to disagree) I would equally argue that the letter Jeff offered had no REAL insight in it at all! In fact I would go as far as to say that the Eds on here (particularly Ed 001:) have been FAR more helpful in explaining the realities of our club than Jeff has EVER been! In the letter he speaks of financial constraints whilst ommiting the fact that the reason we have issues with them is because HE has overseen three seasons of terrible transfers!
I suppose that was my point, it's not that I don't trust that Fosun have the clubs best interests at heart it's that I realise that any conglomerate is (naturally) going to put there own interests first! And with that where ever you look I'm afraid the message is the same and that message is that Fosun have over expanded and got themselves into a very real problem with liquidity!
I don't see myself as a pesamist, not yet anyway (it would be just my luck if I was:). And with that in mind I encourage posters like yourself and Phil to keep posting the way you do cause it certainly helps keep these pages more enjoyable to read!
But as a season ticket holder for TOO long have I heard Jeff telling us 'this time next year we' ll be millionaires Rodders'! I don't doubt his integrity but I do doubt the reality!
Having said all that I still think we'll be fine because we have a steady hand on the wheel in Lope, I suppose when you get down to it THAT is what worries me, as I suspect he's applying for every half decent Euro job going! God I hope I'm worng cause like I said before I'm not shouting 'we're doomed' but I might have to start if he jumps ship! Keep the posts coming guys cause I REALLY enjoy reading um! COYW ??

12.) 04 Aug 2023 00:29:25
Sorry also great response Wolfy46, apologies meant to include you as well buddy ?

13.) 04 Aug 2023 10:00:29
Good post BB3.
Like and agree with what you say.
I don't think Shi really said much we don't know, or think.
My biggest worry is Lopi. I can't imagine why a man with his reputation and standing (and ego) - and ambition - and opportunities, having been put in this situation by Wolves, would be doing anything but blooming around for better options.
And I dread to think where we would be then.
But still season ticket since my Dad first took me nearly 70 years ago, I'm still optimistic and positive that if we can shape the reduced and somewhat limited squad to gel and produce more we should be fine.and look forward to even better ahead.
Just a quick note and thanks to ED1 for his friendly and helpful.pist - which does though raise the worry re feeder clubs, why Wolves are selling Grasshoppers, when other bigger clubs use that as one way if minimising ffp.

Just in case you didn’t know; Cauley Woodrow (who played for Luton last night) is the son of former Wolves legend Martin Patching!
Some of the older fans will remember him from the late 70s/early 80s.

Midfielder?

2.) 03 Aug 2023 12:46:36
Interesting Tommo but having been present during most of his games I can confirm that Martin Patching was far from a legend. He'd have fitted in well with our sideways passing penchant though!

Hi Wd, So now that Chelsea have only received a fine of £8m for breaches of FFP and then mid reporting figures, do you think this will this mean a change of stance from Wolves?
I take it the fear previously was that we didn’t know what the punishment would be but if it’s only a fine of say £5m would they feel it’s worth going over budget?

Tommo1970

It's a different set of rules and numbers we are trying to deal with. We are dealing with Premier League rules. Chelsea fell foul of UEFA financial reporting rules for the period between 2012 and 2019. The new owners reported the club's failure to UEFA, not that it matters who made failures they were fined 10m Euros. In that period of course they won one Champions League and two Europa League trophies. You argue was it worth it, you'd have to say it was wouldn't you!
I'm pretty sure if we were to fall foul of Premier League profit and loss rules the hit would be far worse or at least that's what the club clearly fear but obviously don't know. Everton s case in the Autumn has worried them, not that we would be that bad I wouldn't have thought. I can understand why they are trying to avoid it what I find disgraceful is pulling this study out of the hat as though they have just noticed! They have conned JL his team, Matt Hobbs and his team but above all treated us the fans with contempt! But why should I be surprised. I for one didn't expect big spending this summer but maybe just two or three player to improve the squad. So much for that then! Jeff Shi has given everyone the mushroom treatment a heap of bulls**t.

2.) 29 Jul 2023 07:58:38
Juventus only punishment for breaching ffp was to be banned from playing in europa conference.which they seemed pretty pleased with.

3.) 29 Jul 2023 08:43:17
Take the fine out of the 47 million from Neves that would still leave a nice chunk to spend on desperately needed players. If things don’t change we are going down

4.) 29 Jul 2023 09:16:41
I think they got fined €17m too Bux X

{Ed002's Note - You all need to stop discussing finances and FFP as it is getting really embarrassing.}

5.) 29 Jul 2023 10:32:20
I'm struggling to understand why we are so doomed? Neves was the only nailed on starter we have lost so far, a lot of the players we have let go weren't even in JLs plans, Sasa hasn't had a chance up to yet, silva has been out and gained experience, gomes was getting as he settled into the team, lemina has been solid, nunes should have a big season and defensively we are the same minus Collins, Have a little faith people, yes we are a little light but I can't see us trying to have any cup runs, the focus will be the prem, we may flirt with relegation again but I think when all said is done we will be safe, just back the boys

6.) 29 Jul 2023 11:36:12
Sorry Ed, know what you mean, you've tried your best over and over. Kingswinford totally agree and I'm abit more optimistic for mid table. I'm still hopeful we'll pull off the Scott and Creswell deals after podence and possibly RAN moved on. No matter what COYW

7.) 29 Jul 2023 12:34:32
Come on Ed give them a break as no one understands what is going on. That's FFP rules or what Shi's finance team are actually up to.
Surely its fair game after all its a chat site?
Juxt out of curiosity are you the Everton fan? :-)

{Ed002's Note - It is embarrassing. I offered to explained and then told there was nothing I could teach the Wolves supporters about FFP or the finances - so that is no longer happening.}

Ed. no come on mate if you can explain what is going on a LOT of Wolves fans will be grateful I assure you. Just because one numpty opens his gob don't tar us all with the same brush mate.
Any sensible ifo at this stage will be gratefully accepted

{Ed002's Note - It seems not after the cretin responded last night - the chance has gone.}

11.) 29 Jul 2023 16:18:55
For those that wish to know about ffp there is plenty available online to read plus the Premier League rule book can be downloaded.

Seriously think about what you’re saying!
We are not struggling to pay it, we prepared to move on to other targets if we have to overpay. It’s called negotiating and if we have other options then not overpaying is good business.
Getting players who are premier league ready and homegrown isn’t easy and every club will be in a slightly different position. Making it clear we won’t overpay is something Scott Sellers should have done but sadly failed to do. This is a major reason why we have a PSR issue in the first place!

The main problem is that they are not homegrown. That is the real issue as we need to increase our homegrown quota, hence the moves for Ramsdale, O’Shea, etc…

Because the one we have got is a problem. He doesn’t deal with any crosses, cannot judge diagonal balls into the box and cannot play football with his feet.

Because we don’t have a choice as he hasn’t signed a contract with us. Braden Clarke was the same and it happens to every club every year!
Liverpool and Man City have lost players to other clubs in similar fashion.

Why should we overpay for a player when we have our own business to think of?
Scott Sellers overplayed for lots of players and got us in a mess.
Matt Hobbs is a shrewd businessman ( Matteus Nunes deals to Man City proof of that).
If he won’t go over what we want to pay them I trust him, he’s done a brilliant job since he cane in.

I think you will find it’s was the director of Football Dan Ashworth. Formerly of West Brom he has since gone to Newcastle as he is the most sort after DOF in the country.

Yes Debbie, Lampard was a candidate.
Apparently Nuno was muted but he is on a fortune in Saudi.
Like I say, O ‘Neil ticks the boxes for our current situation but I’m surprised he has a 3 yr contract.

JL bombed Joao and Raul and treated them badly. He also fell out with Neves and Podence. It’s not out of the question that Joao would now resign and Adama hasn't signed for anyone else yet!
