Rumours has it that Traore wants to leave. If we sell him we will need to replace him and get a striker, midfielder and a defender are also needed as well. They will be needed as we are short of proven players as it is. but I can not see us getting 4 proven players in this window. not looking good at the moment.

Will make many on here v. happy and if we do it will make another set of fans v v v happy - like Liverpool and City fans are that Chelsea sold Salah and De Bruyne.
Even Robbie Keane - the best player I have seen at Wolves in the last 50+ years -wasn't as highly regarded by the REST of the football world as Traore is and that is before he is taught how to use his left foot, take the ball when running and, (presumably not his fault as he must be playing to instructions), occasionally run at the goal not the corner flag. It will also help if he is playing with players on his wave length like Doherty and Jimenez and players that take the 3 or 4 chances he makes every match. Even in the last few weeks when he has been slaughtered on here he has been making SEVERAL clear chances a game despite the opposing team knowing he is our major threat ( Neto and Podence have been great but not at his level yet) and therefore double, treble and even quadruple marking him.
I know this will not be a popular post but please be careful what you wish for - if you think the Jota, ( who is not half the player Traore is) situation has bitten us be aware that Traore will swallow us hole!

Norwich away 2 goals on debut I remember watching the goals on central news then on Midlands today on bbc1.

Was a huge talent - sadly we sold v early and got a modest sum from Coventry (look where they are now and thank our lucky stars! ) who doubled their money in a season by flipping him to Italy.

John Richards was sacked because he didn't negotiate a sell on fee.

5.) 06 Jan 2021 11:13:18
Didn't know that but ok. He was a god when I was a teenager, and seemed a v nice man, but fair enough at the top level where you are paid to perform it is only fair if you make big mistakes you lose your job.
He was v unlucky to play at the same time as Alan Clark - the brother of Wayne the quiz q answer from the other day - or he would have got far more than the 1 cap he received.
Only 1 sub in those days though and it was much more competitive as all 22 sides
Now if you are a young English player getting a game you will almost certainly be capped.
Perhaps it is much harder to get a game though?

6.) 06 Jan 2021 14:44:42
all 22 sides were predominantly made up of English players.

Yes, Coventry famously offered bang on £5m for Keane which was rejected. Richards, who was MD at the time said anything over £5m will be accepted so Coventry offered £5m plus 1 pound. He then failed to add a sell on clause.

if you could have put on one that carried on for future transfers he, Keane, would have been the golden goose the number of times he was sold and for lots each time. Great talent but clearly a wanderer in other ways than just Wolves.
Not sure how many of you remember Richards but what a player - always in the right place - superb finisher and like Steve Bull v loyal to the club. His partner Alan Sunderland went to Arsenal and won lots but he was def the junior in the pair.
Hope relations with him and club are good again after all these years as he was a true hero in some of the best years I had watching wolves the McGarry years in the early 70s.

Well Wolves you have only got 4 Hours+ to get a striker or nothing again and again and again and again etc etc etc do I need to go on?

We’d struggle to sign on at dole office lol
Every window the same, just can’t sign a striker

2.) 01 Feb 2024 18:32:35
Absolutely shocking we sign a manager who's done wonders for Wolves yet whe they should back him as normal the let him down.

3.) 01 Feb 2024 18:34:53
We have been scoring freely without having a striker this season. We are playing so nice football. Let’s all stop moaning. We should have learnt by now about what knee jerk reactions we have done in past windows buying so utter dross. Summer is the bigger window for me.

4.) 01 Feb 2024 18:35:43
We also have Fraiser who can have some game time. He has all the attributes of a good striker and should get minutes, especially with all the time we have to Fabio.

5.) 01 Feb 2024 18:40:00
It's hardly the end of the world.

6.) 01 Feb 2024 18:55:31
Could be worse, could be Sheffield Utd, Everton, Burnely, Nottingham Forest. Their futures don't look too rosey.

GON has surpassed expectations.

7.) 01 Feb 2024 19:09:00
Fordhouse_Jack that's not the problem Wolves need a number 9 for god knows how long yet where is he once again Wolves Hierarchy have let the manager down.

8.) 01 Feb 2024 19:12:05
Correct Fordhouses; infact it's nowhere near that. Some folks need to get perspective and take a glance at the league table.January is notably difficult to do deals and this year is much much worse, with ffp being a big influence, hence you've got Merson on Sky talking about Ferraris and O'Hara playing darts instead of deals! The players who'd improve us just aren't available so chill pill everyone and enjoy the season.

9.) 01 Feb 2024 19:21:21
The way things have turned out lately I think Hobbs knows his trade. Have faith

10.) 01 Feb 2024 19:21:56
We don't just want anyone we need the right one.
Patience

11.) 01 Feb 2024 19:34:27
I think Fraiser can step up if need be, plus Hwang still to return.

Well if Nunes goes then we are up s*** creek without a paddle. Prepare yourself for relegation and championship football next season. Oh and here comes the revolution against Fosun/Shi.

Liverpool are sniffing around for Lamina, well they can think again and keep their grubby little hands off him, unless they plan to pay £200m for him and in cash not instalments. that's what I think.

I think Shi should GO and Fosun should bring in someone who knows what football is.

Because of the fiasco behind the scenes regarding money we might struggle to stay up this new season, more players will be sold and no new players will come in, Lop will leave and supporters will be lobbying for fosun/shi to go it will be catastrophic for this club. (I hope not but it looks like it might go that way)
