All the talk about spending money in January to hopefully kept us out of relegation zone if they had spent this so called budget with what we spent preseason we might not be in the mess we are now because that’s what it is ?

That's their tactics, sell off our best, spend a bit in the Summer, see how it goes then spend again in January to ensure no more than Premier League survival. All about the value of Fosun's investment and nothing to do with football, ambition or the needs of the fans.

It's the downward spiral that some of us have been predicting for years and getting shot down for it. I think most can see it now, however.

Still a few in denial Long.
They seem to struggle differentiating concerns with the management of the Club with being a caring fan.

I know rugeley, it gets a bit tiresome when you have the audacity to criticise fosun and all the happy clap brigade tell you to go and support the ?
I love the club and have been going since 1980 but cannot support fosun in what they are doing, they are systematically eroding the integrity of the club, loyal fans that were going in the old 4th division in the freezing cold and rain are just an annoyance to the powers that be now, they want the tourist and corporate fans who will spend silly money for seats and merchandise

The footie season falls into a familiar rhythm with Fosun at the helm. I believe I mentioned their business plan a few years ago, to buy young and cheap and sell on for maximum profit. As an investment company this is their raison d'etre, to make profit and/or sell with enhanced value. They have discovered how difficult this is to do in the Premiership without a global presence and a huge stadium. They made some effort to enhancing Wolves profile globally, spoke of a new stadium, then COVID hit, and as a group Fosun, who were highly geared, were caught with their pants down. Since then the group has sold assets to reduce debt and focus on the profitable cash producing parts of their empire. Wolves value has improved since their purchase but the plan to create a club that figures highly on the World stage and to create huge value is long gone. It offers the group none of the high profile they envisaged. They fail to understand the connection with fans, they understand only what makes money. I have previously referred to the statement they made in the 2022 accounts.that their intent was to dispose of assets that do not produce cash. Hence their lazy approach to the summer window, knowing they have the capacity to spend in January to save Prem status. This is a view that lacks understanding of Prem football. I believe their intent is still to sell, their problem is who is going to be the buyer?

I seriously suspect the long term intent Wimborne, given all the geo political activities. Do fosun really care about a football club in Wolverhampton England UK? The world has moved in so many ways since their takeover.
As you say covid caught us, as Tfig would point out Seville a turning point.
We've had disaster after disaster managerialism and a decent squad squandered again and again, now we've reached a point whereby players don't want to join us allegedly for whatever reason.
What's the deal with VP? A 3 year contract after a terrible run of games, seemingly nonsensical subs costing us points and maybe a lost dressing room.
Sure he's got a connection with the fans a nunoesque familiarity maybe, but the results, the tactics and points say it all premiership survival wise.
Can fosun lay claim to parachute monies and then sell when we fall?
I've no idea but the sooner they've gone the better, we maybe worse off than when they arrived but would they care?

I think you have all pretty much summed up the mess we are in, Abbeywolf, I am with you, very strange in my opinion giving VP a new contract, that is of course unless there is a clause on points achieved. Having no confidence at all in Jeff and Co not sure if this is likely. Really hope we achieve a decent points return in the next 3 or 4 games, what happens though if we don’t, will VP be replaced? What a predictable shambles, so far they have always managed to survive, just, eventually we won’t.
