I just don't understand how the defence can go from good under Lopetegui to the worst in the Premier League under GON. The only player missing is Kilman and he's hardly helped improve the West Ham back line.

Agree to a certain point but that wasn't Fosun last weekend against Bournemouth. That was fitting square pegs in round holes just because it worked against Fulham. To add to it, the selection was so obviously not working and subs were made too late. To concede within seconds after equalising can be considered careless, but doing it twice in a match is just downright poor and that has to come from the coach.

Kilman was a calming influence and even managed to make the ageing Dawson look good for a while.

Sorry EE, but this demise hasn't just started this season. Yes Kilman was ever present, but this slide started last season when Kilman was playing ( No Dawson) When we sold him to WHU I don't recall to many people being upset. How well are WH performing with Kilman and how much money spent?

Because GON has set up the defence wrong. They look panicked everytime the opposition come anywhere near us. When Bueno and Dawson play together at the back we look much better.

In the 13 league games where Kilman played without Dawson next to him, we conceded 27 goals.

The 25 games games they played together saw us concede 38 goals.

Is Dawson perfect, no, but even at his age, he is better than Kilman. £40m for Kilman was good business but Fosun and the team should have brought in an experienced CB. End of.

As I said Ee, the mistake we made is not replacing him. £40m for Kilman was a very good price. Just ask any West Ham fan if they think he's worth the money. Most are saying that Wolves have cheated them out of £40m.

What I'm saying is that we concede an average of 1.52 goals per game when Dawson plays compared to 1.87 when he doesn't. The only consistent is Kilman playing.

Thats because Kilman played every single game (38) as opposed to just half the season like Dawson (25). Meaning that he played all the best teams twice unlike Dawson. Which also means that EVERY single game which has helped Dawson get to that stat Kilman played alongside him!
Indeed, Kilman was consistent he was in fact our most used player that season! Seems odd doesn't it, that a player which apparently was so average/expendable STILL played more than any other that season?! Ask WHU fans what they think of Lopetegui, doesn't mean he didn't do well for us does it?
