We have Brentford coming up which will be a tricky fixture, then City I’m always hopeful of us nicking something, Brighton which is tough. Then that gets us away from our tough start, easier fixtures lie ahead, we have games where we can definitely win, things can only get better

True in that easier fixtures await, however tomorrow is a massive game for us and we're only 7 games into the season. Should we lose or draw against Brentford, we will go into the Man City and Brighton games as underdogs and with low confidence. Should we lose both of them games too, then we have 29 games to gain 38/39 points.

WS. Then it's not enough. If we don't get 3 points tomorrow sorry but GON has to go.
We had 46 points last year = 1.2/game.
ASSUMING we don't get anything from the next 3 games then
29 x 1.2 gives us ~ 36 points total. Might be enough but.
However if you look at our points tally last 16-18 games we're relegated.
Hopefully I'm completely wrong but I think if we don't get anything against Brentford then a change is needed and a decent transfer window in January.

I reckon we will be at Brentford 3-2 and get our season underway.

WS last seasons bottom 3 were Sheff Utd on 16 points Burnley on 24 and Luton on 26.
We have many good players and are too good to go down.
We scored at Villa Park which even Bayern couldn’t manage.
A couple of wins will change our season around.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an expectation of beating Brentford rather than a hope?
TVOR we did score a goal at Villa park pity we conceded more. Not sure that's an indicator of anything other than the fact that we lost. We used to be their bogey side, even that's gone out the window now.
Let's see what the Brentford game brings, if it's nil points, something will have to change that's for sure.

We may too many good players to go down but this league isn't played by comparing how good a player or squad is. The only thing that matters is results.
We could have the best squad in the world but if they don't win games, then they're going down.
I hope your right but remember that we've still got to play Spurs, Man U and Man City twice as well as the return games against Liverpool,
Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa which we are expected to lose (by the experts) so that's another 9 games. Therefore including the games we've already played, that 15 games lost so we have 22 games to gain 39 points.

Too good to go down but over the yeats a lot ofcteams said to be too good to go down have done exactly that including recently villa.and look at them now compared to us.judging by the ssn so far a lower points tally will be enuf to stay up.so we need to pick points up by targeting winable games and play accordingly.gon needs to realise this NOW.

Was it Eric morecambe who played all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order?
We may have the players but we don't always get the play right. Get the ball forward instead of the boring unproductive and often dangerous playing out from the back.
Utilise the quality of individuals and let them use their skills.
We've had a rough run with bad luck, we havnt been awfully bad in those games, fitness and backpassing aside, but we've given away silly goals. If we get the tightness back we can be a match for anyone, sadly we're not there yet.
Tomorrow will be difficult, it's hard to see a win, but the lads with confidence and 100% effort they may well surprise us. I believe we can get something and will bet on a 3-1 victory, (with tightly crossed fingers). COYW.

Yes, we have many excellent players but do we have players to make up a Premier League standard defence? If we can’t get a point at Brentford we are in trouble.

Taking a long time for some to realise we are the easy fixture.
