We'll be okay. We've had a tough start to the season, but we've had no luck whatsoever. We've got some decent players and I reckon we'll finish mid table. When we get a run of easier matches we will start winning. We will finish nearer to a European place than we will to relegation.

We will Lost City.
We have had some real bad luck and some bad injuries but have still been in every game we have played.
We are in a false position.
If we had beaten Arsenal Chelsea Villa and Liverpool we would be above them all in the table.
Keep the faith.FWAW

Personally, I'd like to see us have a bit more ambition than just survive in the bottom half of the table, whilst starting every season at the bottom.

It happened last year it's happening this year and if we do survive it will happen next year. We all know why that happens so how is that down to bad luck? If it is we must be cursed, no it's all down to the way the club is run, it's policies and lack of ambition.

I firmly believe that when Wolves got into Europe Fosun got a nosebleed when they realised the cost of keeping us up there in terms of the quality hence cost of players they would need, so forget that.

Mid table maybe, that will be the reality as the club works to become standalone financially, that's the 10 year plan in reality.

VOR, we haven’t been in every game we’ve played, we have been rubbish, played well in one half or upto 70 mins, we have had some injuries but so have other teams. We need to change get a scrappy win to change our mindset. I will always have faith in the team we have some good players

You are bang on longmyndwolf sorry but no ambition season after season will be selling another couple top players next summer just don’t move forward just keep struggling every year

Posters need to have a sense of reality and perspective. We are in a relegation battle and one that we are unlikely to survive, so the talk of getting close to a European place is I feel a touch to optimistic. My feelings are the players, or the majority of them are not good enough, the head coach is not good enough, the fitness levels are not good enough and the powers that run the club are not good enough. Just because we will soon face a series of games that on paper are 'winnable', confidence and good form are not just magically going to manifest.
Hope I am proved wrong

Long we always start bottom because it’s alphabetical, don’t thing that will change any time soon. Unless we do a Bournemouth and put AFC in front of wolves.

We seem to be in a twilight zone. No leadership from our Owners/CEO.
On the rare occasions the CEO goes in the press he contradicts himself. Best 2 examples, we were told the Club was in serious risk of breaching PSR, then a few days ago, no, we have never been at risk.
There are many potential investors lining up. Well, they said that back in 2022, still nothing.
Last night Villa had a special victory in Europe. 4 years ago, we were in Europe and they were no where.
4 years of struggle have followed and a missed opportunity for us.

I have to agree with QS here, even talk of finishing near the Euro positions isn't just optimistic it's bordering on deluded and I'm sorry but it also shots down ANY credibility in said post! To be blunt, some on here need a reality check! We currently have 1 point, as stated previously that's ALREADY 4 points behind what we finished with last season going off the game for game of the current fixtures. Add to that those currently in the Euro places are already 10 points a head of us! That may not sound a lot but considering we only managed 46 points in the WHOLE of last season we are actually talking about well over a fifth of all the points accumulated last season behind already! Sorry but get a grip, because it's actually almost insulting to those teams that are doing well! Besides which I find it somewhat bizarre that some have the arrogance to believe that just because we have a few decent players that those teams currently doing FAR better than us (like Brentford) are just going to roll over, that we are magically going to stop defending like we have blind folds on just cause they aren't a top four team seriously since when has this league EVER worked like that?! We are in a relegation battle and the sooner we realise it the better chance we've got, even if some posters haven't worked it out I suspect the team has. Anyone notice the emotional wreck poor Lemina was at the end of the last game, it's cause he's realised what some on here haven't and that is we are barely a month in and already fighting for our lives!
And all this while Villa are doing incredible work beating Bayern at home! Ya know the same Villa that we were promoted in front of having given them a lesson at our place that seasons?! We were literally a few seasons in front of them back then and all we seem to have done since is take MASSIVE leaps back whilst watching them stride forwards! Fair play to them but it's hard not to be bitter, not with them but with Fosun! We had a sliding doors moment after our little Euro jaunt and every single decision they have made since that day has taken us backwards and I suspect it will continue to do so right up until we find ourselves back in the Champ. If by some miracle that's not this season great, but without a radical change that is where we are headed I'm afraid! Haha, finishing nearer Europe than relegation give me a break no one gets anything in this league without earning it! The sooner some posters and (in fairness) our owners start to realise that the sooner we might be able to look forward again! Until then I'm done with Fosun, there sheer dereliction of duty has become to much for me to tolerate anymore! ?

I agree QS. Before the season started I may have thought that Europe was possible not probable. Now after seeing our team play and basically try and sit on a one goal lead for twenty minutes or do nothing about being a goal down five minutes from time I'm hoping GON will pull it out of the bag again. If not, expect an exodus in January.

Nice one Goat but it's not day one, we're 6 games in, bottom of the table with 1 point and a -10 goal difference. I don't care who we have or haven't played so far, that is pretty atrocious. It's not like we've just been promoted and expected to struggle.

If we win a couple of 'winnable' games then some may feel vindicated in their predictions and probably happy with being locked into the lower half of the table. It's just not what I would consider to be an acceptable attitude from the club, which seems to be, survive in the Prem just to make money.

If the club is trying to build a war chest or the funds to expand the ground because Fosun won't and are prepared to take risks to do that, then tell us, share with the fans as to keep quoting the 10 year plan is meaningless.

BB11 - Villa have got a top manager. Have we? The last 16-18 games suggest not. We can't keep blaming the players. These are good individuals but not being coached into a good solid team.

I never said that we would qualify for Europe, I said that we would be closer to the European places than the relegation places. There is a difference so get your facts right.

I've backed GON to the hilt but even I have to now (begrudgingly:) admit that it's a fair question to ask Black. Particularly in light of recent performances and poor game management (the Villa game in particular springs to mind). However, I also think that particular question does become a bit of a chicken and egg scenario. So whilst I don't think GON is doing well I also think he's had very little support i.e I don't see Villa regularly selling all their best players, maybe one or two but never most in one window! I would also say that we (arguably) had a top manager in Lopetegui, who took one look at Fosuns '10 year plan' and swiftly packed his bags!
Is Emery a better manager than GON, without a doubt (but then I honestly think he's probs one of the top four in the league). Would we get a manager of Emerys calibre under Fosuns current approach not a chance! I actually think that's the most terrifying part of any 'managers chat' cause as limited as GON currently looks I'm genuinely not sure if anyone better would tolerate Fosuns shameless continual asset stripping of the squad?!
Lets be honest if we lose badly to Brentford we may soon find out if there's any better options cause looking at the current performances something just HAS to change I'm afraid! ?

Lost- I never said you did say that and on both occasions I specifically said 'finishing near'. I simply used the points analogy to show how ridiculous the comment was about 'closer to Europe'. So my facts are fine cheers fella, maybe you just need to read stuff properly?! Whilst ya at it try reading the table properly eh?! ?

The real point that sticks in my craw is the Villa aspect. As many posters have stated it is appalling to think how we were ahead of them in real money. We have sat back and fiddled while Rome burnt and watched as Villa have gone onto reach the Champions league, albeit through 'questionable and arguably 'unscrupulous' methods.

Lost/TVOR backing your club is one thing but to basically put our current situation down to bad luck or having to play better teams than us (?) is somewhat missing the point.

The point being, why aren't we one of those better teams which you seem resigned to losing to. We were, but as Bullys so comprehensively described, we are much nearer relegation than top 6 and it will stay that way because even if we start to click and climb the table our best performers, who can be sold off at a profit, will be. Then it'll be back on your heads lads ready for next seasons survival struggle.

That's not my opinion btw, that's the clubs stated transfer policy, that's what it means, it will keep happening and I'm surprised you seem to gloss over that and blame our predicament on if's, but's and bad luck. Frankly, this is totally, utterly, entirely, wholly, fully and absolutely, down to Fosun.

To be honest I'm pleased I read 'your stuff' cause I need a good laugh and it just gets funnier and funnier ??
