Who's he then?

Don't care about him. We've got Tolu.

Apparently the senior team, ie CEO etc were far more impressive in their contact with the player. No surprises there!

Yes. Don't care.

Love the attitude but as we all know he is one of the many players who may have made a difference this season but chose to go elsewhere.
I know it is boring but as I ask over and over again - but never get a reply - why? Why don't players want to join and why do players want to leave?
The answers are of course obvious and will not change until the club does.
Sadly that won't happen this window and consequently Wolves are probably going to rely to some extent on Munetsi, Hwang, Bellegarde, etc etc etc
Having seen the games/results across the Premier League so far this year it is pretty hard to see which teams are obviously at Wolves level.
I wrote about Wolves road to survival but Everton, one of the key games in that route, were clearly a class above and the loss at home was far from undeserved!

If the window ends and we don't bring in anyone other than the new striker we are going to be in a right mess.

we made Everton look good. Giving the ball away far to easily and not doing simple things like tracking runs and being able to pass to another Wolves player. Certain players should have been dropped due to recent performances

I expect we'll bring in Raskin late in the window then possibly Brownhill later on as he's a free agent and can sign anytime.

Exactly Alex we played well against City and Everton.
But we switched off too often in both games.
Giving the ball away is disasterous at this level.
One point I would make is the players do seem to be fitter this season looking at the way they press.
But I think its this press that is leaving us open on the transition as well.
It may take time to come up with solutions but the overall squad isn't awful they have replaced the RWB, LWB and FW.
But if we give away the ball like we have been we will go down.
Another CB would be ideal today just to shore us up and help us to start keeping clean sheets.

the thing with a press is you have to get it right otherwise you are left short. I have noticed a few times some players press and others don't or the timing is slightly off. When this happens the other team will just go right through you. I think we really to focus on defence as it is awful. Aa lot of it is organisation and being aware of players making runs. Especially the target men.

Madman I often agree but not this time.
The squad is truly awful!
How many of the Wolves squad would make the Villa team, the Newcastle team, the Palace team etc etc etc- 2, 3 maybe 4 at the very most?
If you think Wolfe, Jackson and Arias are even in the same postal district as the guys they are replacing you have a lot more hope than I have.
They may after a few months grow into their roles but today they haven't a hope.
It is not their fault, no player arriving in the Prem should be expected to carry a team from day 1, but unlike in the past when players arrived they were cushioned by the good players around them now they have to cover the inadequacies of their colleagues.
Wolves are not trimming fat but cutting bone!

Future, I think at this precise moment you're probably right there are few of our players that other Premier teams would be pursuing. However this is a team in transition and I'm convinced that the players are better than what we're currently witnessing. Last season VP saved us with minor tweaks to a relegation bound team devoid of confidence, and a couple of signings who performed instantly, Agba, Munetsi. We are now seeing VP stamping his tactical brand on the team and it's clearly going to take time for them to get it.

Some of our best players of last season are now our worst (Agba, Andre, J Gomes) and they clearly haven't suddenly lost ability, they've lost direction and focus and are struggling to adapt.

Theres a video on youtube where VP discusses tactical identity and changes he aims to implement, search 'Vitor Pereira breaks down his tactical identity', it shows the extent of the job.

Regarding signings I feel we probably have to accept that certain positions have been strengthened as much as they're going to be in this window.
I don't see a chance of a new CB as we have Agba, Krejci, Mosquera, Bueno, Toti, Doc (6 for 3 positions).

Little chance of a wingback with Jackson, Wolfe, Gomes, Bueno, Hoever available (5 for 2 positions).

Possible need for 1 CM, Gomes, Andre, Munetsi, Bellegarde available (4 for 2 spots but Munetsi/Bellegarde often used in other positions )
No chance of a CF IF JSL stays and Tolu signs (2 for 1 spot).

And finally the elephant in the room.
A desperate need for a signing in the number 10 role, currently Arias, Lopes, Hwang (3 players for 2 position and 1 hasn't yet adapted, 1 isn't quite ready and 1 isn't good enough)!

That's my take anyway!

TFIOG, Uche did want to sign for Wolves. He agreed the salary, bonuses and length. It was his agent who scuppered the deal as he had to take a lower fee.

To be fair, neither AIT or Cunha have set the world alight at their new clubs.

Nuno days players and a few just after Nuno would piss over this team.
Look at the players that we have had and now look. There are only probably 5 players of the current team who I would add to that list of good players. Andre, Gomes, R.Gomes, Larson, Yerson

Neves
Moutinho
Coady
Raul
Jota
Neto
Adama
Boly
Saiss
Rui
Vinagre
Vitinha
Jonny Otto
Podence
Nunes
Rayan
Cunha
Samedo

Alex Bryant that's hardly fair is it, you're comparing todays starting 11 to a list of 18 players spanning a decade 2015-2025! And frankly some of the players you've listed had very limited success when with us.

17.) 01 Sep 2025

16 of those players were with us during the Nuno era. I am just stating that we have gotten weaker every season since. We have had a few good players here and there but the owners direction has completely changed.

Molineuxway a good post and v fair assessment!

My ideas for the first 11 and what is needed to make it adequate:

GK: Sa is an adequate lower mid table GK

WBs : The 2 new WBs Jackson and either Wolfe or Bueno both need to find their feet v rapidly and turn about to be good enough - big ask and not a given by any means

CBs : Yerson stays fit and is as good as he was for a few weeks before his injury, Emanuel rediscovers his form from last season, the new guy is worth the fee paid - all somewhat optimistic?

Midfield the strongest part of the team picks itself

Upfront - options: JSL, Arias and another 10 to be signed or Lopez OR JSL, Tolu and Arias.

Beyond that though there is v v little.
At GK there is no back up worth the name.
At WB R Gomes is one of the major hopes either at WB or elsewhere in the side.
At CB Doc and Bueno are surely only a last resort for a few games a season - neither good enough. Toti could play if others can help him- an adequate player but v v v limited.
In mid no back up worth the name - Bellegarde has talent but seems some way off ready.
Up front Not just no back up but looks short for the first 11.

Far too many of the players currently included in the have no right to be in the Prem this season!

Alex you don't need to pick the best players over the last 7 seasons to find a team that would beat the current side

Sadly this side is probably the weakest team Wolves have put out since being promoted. What an indictment given the money that has flowed through the club over the past 7 years and what a failure to now be as weak as a newly promoted club!

I disagree, other than the two defensive mf positions I think we do have decent options elsewhere and even defensive mf has Bellegarde who if played regularly to gain confidence and the new guy Kreijc can cover. Elsewhere I think Moller Wolfe and Tchatchaoua are good but need time to settle, Agbadou needs to get his confidence back as does Toti but competition from Yerson, Kreijc and S Bueno will help with that. Doc needs to play next few games for his experience and to help others settle in. Tolu, Arias and JSL up top with Fer Lopes as an option is actually strong and Hwang, Sasa and the young lad Mane are all options. Wing back we still have Lima as well who I really rate but he maybe going out on loan.

Wolflea.

I think you have largely listed the first 11 - where are your options?

lets look at the players you name
Bellegarde has shown flashes but is a long way from an established prem player so a poor option at best
Krejci is going to be first choice LCB so will struggle to play DM as well but is not an option/back up
The two new WBs are new but are first choices so not back ups/options?
Emanuel (Worryingly I agree he does have serious issues at the moment), is first choice at CB and thus is not a back up/option.
Toti is a back up/option but without help from stronger players is very limited and is a weak at best option
Yerson and Krejci again are both first 11 so not back ups/options
Bueno (due to ability) and Doc (due to age and fitness ) are in my view not Prem league quality players so should not be options.
Tolu, Lopez and Arias are also new and 2 of the 3, (although unclear which 2), are first 11 - so one can be an option but obviously all 3 as I say once again are brand new.
Consequently whilst you may be right and they will be strong at the moment they are all a massive risk and probably would be regarded as a v weak front line in Prem terms by most independent observers.
Hwang (ability), Sasa (fitness ) and Mane (age and experience) are not viable options in the Prem,
although Mane may become one at some stage in the future. JSL is first choice CF so not an option.
So the conclusion I drew from what you wrote was that Wolves have a first 11 with lots of problems and v v few options?
maybe that has changed in the last 15 mins but I doubt it?
