Not sure how to reply directly but this is for you Debbie.
The sectarian thing is not considered silly I get your point I really do catholics play for rangers prods play for Celtic. Silly it may seem to the English we have lived in a pretty Protestant/ Methodist and recently catholic paradise without the need to fear one another but in Northern Ireland and apparently Scotland the case is much different when you grow up with the kerb stones painted to let you know if you belong and with the stories of your grandparents the last thing it is is silly it's UNFORTUNATELY a way of life that some of us have to live everyday

Other way round mate. Celtic are Catholics and Rangers are Protestant.

2.) 23 Jul 2022 11:06:53
It is silly (although I'd use a much stronger word) when, after all, aren't they all ultimately supporting the same deity?

3.) 23 Jul 2022 12:16:46
@Old Wulf - it’s more to do with identity, it stems from when Irish people (from Ulster) went over to Glasgow to seek work in the shipyards and factories. Catholics identify as Irish and Protestants identify as British.

I'm being more general,Debbie. For centuries and centuries supposed Christians have been exterminating each other. One reason I'm an atheist.

What style are we currently trying to play?
Today and against arsenal and west ham we've adopted a weird style of play across the back 3 then lump it up to Podence. The wing backs are absolutely inept what's the point of them? When the ball is played to them they immediately run towards our goal play back to the back 3 and it gets lumped. When we are in a decent position in the final third and marcal or hoever have the ball who anticipates something will come from it? Nobody because 9times out of 10 it's played back to sa to lump it. The space between the back 3 and front 3 is huge with poor old neves and jao to cover almost the entire field between them. The result is if podence or wang have the ball their 50 yards behind and totally isolated vice versa if any team break through our pathetic of late press that used to be very good they can just stroll through the middle of the park. What's the point in anybody pressing when it's so easy to play through we seem to be a man short in midfield and a man short in attack I don't know how that works. We've got one route with this system 2 wing backs and 2 wingers and that's to play wide and get down the touch line but as we know we don't cross and rightly so every time we do we have a lone player of 4 n half foot to try and win a header looked totally lost of late either play a back four and press the opposition or bang 3 in midfield with 2 up top. I can take a loss but it's the abysmal performances that's annoying.

Just listening to Bruno's reaction to the game. He pretty much said that we learn't how they'd play earlier in the season but implied that the result was down to individual players not producing rather than anything tactical. Not being strong enough in the challenge, poor distribution and I suppose not looking for solutions in the game.
Which I believe is Manager speak for I'm going to 'kin kill 'em later.

2.) 05 Mar 2022 20:57:06
He also mentioned 'new faces' on Thursday. Whether that metaphoric mentality or changes in line up I guess we'll only find out on Thursday but after saying we've been doing something right to be where we are does it make sense to tinker again? OK I'd love to see young cundle gomez chinquito mosquito etc get games is it new faces we need when we can still squeeze a euro space? Or is a good kick up the pants and reminder that they're playing for us the fans and the badge he also alluded to. After the full blown, but cruel defeat at arsenal the 2 games have produced a seemingly thoughtless approach in some areas, and the tinkering may have a bearing on that. What do others think?

We’ve done so well this season and played some good football but we can’t play like we have done the last 3 games. I’m not sure it’s individuals I think we’ve been found out and teams have studied how we play. Put pressure on the back 3 and they will eventually play it to the gk who will lump it. Don’t let them play out through the wing backs. We don’t have any player atm who can dribble past 2 or 3 players so teams don’t worry about that so what threat do we pose the goal verse spurs where due to bad defending away at arsenal the goal was due to bad defending West Ham away no threat today no threat . Play 5 at the back to sit in and counter quickly worked. Playing 5 at the back then playing high possession football leaves the forwards isolated we just look lost and clueless. Change the system for me

Abbey, my guess is that he's trying every front line combination possible due to the lack of goals. Unfortunately he needs to realise that Raul is the only proven goal scorer we have on our books, unless he's going to give Chem Cambell a chance (who should be ahead of Silva on current form anyway).

5.) 05 Mar 2022 23:44:06
Listening to his interview, I think Hoever was obviously targeted but I think the other 'kid' he referred to is Fabio Silva.

6.) 06 Mar 2022 08:01:18
Hoever is an odd issue for me and although Semedo has improved this season, my opinion is that Hoever started the season well and there wasn’t too much between the two of them at that stage. OK I accept that Lage states there may be training and attitude issues but if that’s the case why hasn’t Lage and his team addressed those? There’s no excuse for a player not being ready to play a Premiership match but that preparation is a two-way street with the coaching team heavily involved. Why select a player who is not prepared and why not address this situation with appropriate action in the January window (whether signing players or stopping loans out)?
Hoever may deserve his dressing down but for me this should be done behind closed doors. That’s the professional way and that’s the way you preserve the value of your assets.
Although this isn’t a ‘let’s slag Bruno’ post (he’s done well on the whole in his first year) let’s call a spade a spade.
He has given Trincao way more chances than he deserves and I would have shipped him back to Catalunya in January and brought back (and played when fit) MGW then. A young Portuguese (loan) flop has been persisted with and been selected for the team when Traore has been left on the bench.
Now with Saiss and Moutinho out of contract in the summer and every chance that Neves may be bought by a Champions League contestant I personally want to see positive things from our young lads (fgs play Cundle) and yesterday for me, as a Wolves fan, that wasn’t a good look and sends out worrying vibes.

When we play 3 at the back with coady acting as a sweeper surely boly and who ever else plays cb has to push forward when In possession. Meaning the midfielders can get high up the pitch. When was the last time a team scored a goal past wolves on an obvious break one on one with the keeper. All the conceded goals we have nearly the whole teams in our own box.

Agree doghead and I think we tried this at the beginning of the season. Saiss certainly made forays into opposition half when playing in a three. I think this should be the way we try to have more possession this year until safe. Horses for courses. Some of our important players cannot operate in a back four. Don’t want to harp on constantly about those who struggle as I have made my opinion known previously. However, one area where the present incumbent is not suited to playing a back four, is Patricio. To play that system well, you need a sweeper keeper, quick and with two good feet. Hart’s, Man City career and you could argue top flight career came to a stuttering halt because of his failings in this department. Patricio is many things, most of them good but a sweeper keeper, he is not.

Doghead.
Agree, it would be nice to see us push forward as a team. And get more numbers upfield to retrive or just compete for that 2nd ball. Watching Brighton at anfield last night. They regularly had 4, 5, or 6 players in Liverpool box. Even the Albion when they came to Mol had numbers going forward.
We always seem a little strung out going forward. But as someone just pointed out, to make these changes, you need the right personnel. I think Nuno and the players are at sixes and sevens at the moment. Just hope we can get through this season safely and then I think we'll be able to push on again. Plenty work to do in the meantime though.

Absolutely agree. Brighton are an example of a fast breaking side. They have almost improved on our example of previous seasons.
I would like Traore remaining close to halfway line, fairly central, when Wolves are defending a corner. Then watch how opponents manage his power and direct style?

Getting dyche would be the biggest step backwards this club could take after Nuno. Personally I would rather relegation. If we stayed up with dyche how many years would you want him lingering around the club? Or is it just for the rest of the season?
I would rather we swallow our pride and kindly ask NES to come and get the team back into shape like it was before he was sacked . Just my opinion mind seems a lot want Dyche I’m just not feeling it.

And what exactly are wolves fans hoping for . Whose wishing we where smashing league one to bits. With outstanding football. Rated come on he got manager of the month. Kane obviously wanted out and the others stopped performing. If NUNO wasn’t good enough or he didn’t do a good enough job then god help the fans who think that. Best years of my life time as a wolves fan. Seems some on here expect champions league football year in year out. With guardiola expansive football.

It’s what we deserve for forcing Nuno out.
The work he did was unbelievable. One mediocre season and a big portion of the fan base turned on him. “ high expectations are the mark, for superior people.”
Nunos downfall was the expectation the fans placed on him for doing such a good job.
AND NOW we expect absolutely f*ckall.
If we got promoted . Survived by the skin of our teeth then got sort of 15th then 13th wouldn’t of been his down fall. Whatever you do at wolves don’t get top 7 twice in a row the second it drops abit they’ll have you out .
