Sasa loan to franfurt confirmed then.

Abbeywolf

1.) 07 Jan 2024 12:58:45
With sasa and fabio gone, we must be close to geting a striker in. I know they hardly played but it was two bodies on the bench, in a small squad.
With players away and gomez missing 3 we need cover if we pick up a couple of injuries we could find it difficult to win games

2.) 07 Jan 2024 13:42:42
There must be someone lined up, otherwise SK wouldn't have been let go out on loan. But who is the question?

3.) 07 Jan 2024 14:09:26
Danny Ings

4.) 07 Jan 2024 17:07:12
Prefer Danny to Che Adams

5.) 07 Jan 2024 18:08:47
I think your right Jas, I reckon Ings will arrive in the next week or so. I have to be honest I really don't see the point in signing Ings. He's never going to be up to being long term cover cause he's just always injured, that's not going to improve as he gets older?! Personally I'd love to see us get that Boulaye Día lad who we've been in for last window. Looks like a great player with the kind of physical attributes needed to lead the line. Also looks like a few clubs are tracking him so maybe he's got more attractive options now? We need to start building this squad up, for me Ings doesn't especially help with that (long term) but time will tell ?

6.) 08 Jan 2024 10:25:43
Imagine if Ings is injured early days, would leave us paying big wages for no product. I'd steer clear and rely on Hobbs to find another young and hungry.

7.) 09 Jan 2024 13:43:09
Danny Ings not leaving now

8.) 09 Jan 2024 14:34:47
Rejoyce! I really don't think he was the solution to the problem.

9.) 09 Jan 2024 19:57:56
Personally I'd rather have Danny Ings and hope he doesn't get injured rather than have no striker at all.

10.) 09 Jan 2024 21:59:35
On his wages, Jas? Aren't we currently doing rather well with no striker at all? Summer is the real time for squad strengthening.

11.) 09 Jan 2024 22:30:01
Ings.!
Adams.!
Is costa still available if that's the best we can do.fgs.we need some1 with a bit of mobility.theyr dedlegs who don't suit our style atall.

12.) 09 Jan 2024 23:53:24
Old Wulf, if we can get him I'm on loan then that's ideal. He is a proven scorer at this level. I'm regards to his wages, if we are only contributing 50% of Silva, Sasa and Guedes wages whilst they are on loan, then this gives us capacity to pay 50% of Ings wages.

At the moment, we have let Sasa and Fabio, Hwang on International duty and Neto only just back from injury. That leaves Bellegarde and Cunha as our most attacking options unless we promoted Fraser and Gonzalez.

13.) 10 Jan 2024 11:40:07
Thing is Jas your argument of Ings is better than no one would be valid if it was 31st Jan. But it's not, if it's Ings or no one this early on (having already let two strikers go) then we have bigger problems than our strikers! I'm sure we have other irons in the fire, looks like it's academic anyway as I think injuries will make Ings unavailable anyway ?

14.) 10 Jan 2024 12:47:27
Buxwolf, not heard from you for a while. I've missed your little messages of joy.

31 Aug 2023 09:35:30
So it's £53m +10% sell on for nunes, and we're paying £4.5m for Doyle with 50% sell on. All round great deals.

Abbeywolf

1.) 31 Aug 2023 09:40:29
Abbeywolf good piece of business for Wolves don't need a player who doesn't want to be there and record transfer fee.

2.) 31 Aug 2023 10:05:29
I'm glad he's going i'll drive him to the Etihad myself.

3.) 31 Aug 2023 10:09:15
Congratulations to Hobbs.the boy done good!
From day 1, it has been clear Nunes was with us under duress and it was just a way in to the Premiership.
So now a win for him and good result for Wolves!

4.) 31 Aug 2023 10:44:49
I see the misfortune of KDB picking up a lengthy injury has made man City do the deal.

Fate eh?

5.) 31 Aug 2023 11:15:09
Do you think mathieus (he prefers to be called that apparently) will keep him out when he's fit again Phil? because in all honesty I don't think he'll keep up with cities tempo, unless we see him improve dramatically. Anyway he's gone we've made abit and we've got an exciting prospect in Doyle, ah he will.

6.) 31 Aug 2023 11:38:13
Glad to see the favourable comments above on this deal. Frankly, a few other fans could only see negativity yesterday, and I'm surprised at some of them. Obviously the Doyle option at £4.5mil is a gift to us. His real value must be about the Alex Scott level. My guess is that City wanted to save face after they threatened to walk away! In reality we have achieved our asking price for ungrateful Nunes because of the huge under-pricing of Doyle. Pity that some of us can't see that. I have to say well done to Hobbs. This may prove to be a good window. I guess the rumours about rumours that the club is for sale will now disappear.

7.) 31 Aug 2023 13:27:00
Todd Boehly pulled the plug on Diarra and Bellegarde deals.

8.) 31 Aug 2023 13:39:40
I don't see that Abbey KDB is the real deal.
Regarding hobbs yes agree but never mentioned its the club that has employed hobbs with the mandate set.
So imo our club should get some recognition too.
As our club our owners have been under extreme attack on these pages of late and lesser extent the last year or so.

As have always stated its results and performances that will change fans mindsets.
So hoping once transfer window is shut the emphasis on these pages is back predominately on the football our team play.
We going to have understandable blips in form like the majority of teams in the league but also I believe understandable good/excellent runs of form.
Of which will give fans the focus back we are a club in progression.

Onwards and upwards as others on their posts have stated.
FOREVER WOLVES ARE WE.

9.) 31 Aug 2023 14:51:41
Hi E can you shed light on your statement as a bit cryptic for me.

10.) 31 Aug 2023 15:27:37
Sorry but I don't see how this is agood deal losing nunes to city and pep who rates him and will obviously get the best out of him which we never did .doyle is a good deal but only if he proves to be upto the prem.wud pep let him go if he thut he was.and the nunes fee isa joke when palmer is going for a similar amount.we just saw a glimpse pf nines potential this ssn and now hav let him go.

11.) 31 Aug 2023 15:30:51
Perhaps E has changed allegiances MRV.

12.) 31 Aug 2023 16:13:50
Buxwolf, Super-sulk Nunes had downed tools and gone on strike. He would have ruined dressing room morale if he stayed. We should celebrate him going. He was never that interested for us last season anyway.

13.) 31 Aug 2023 17:05:02
Strasbourg are owned by Chelsea MRV

02 Nov 2022 09:38:57
Reported in telegraph today that loptigue (spell sorry) as come back to us this week and that we are working to sort out acceptable terms. Maybe we'll have an early Christmas presence?

Abbeywolf

1.) 02 Nov 2022 13:57:51
Christmas presence. It’s Jacob Marley’s ghost. Hahaha.

And people perhaps need to calm down on the Sellars and Shi hatred. It was clear to anyone with even a iota of intelligence that this was going to happen and that Julen only turned us down because of his Father’s health. And by us waiting it showed him that we clearly want him.

I think he will be announced in the coming week or two and will take over whilst the World Cup is on. Just a shame a chunk of our team will probably be in Qatar so he won’t be able to see the likes of Neves until after.

I also hope Steve gets some pats on the back. 4 points from 3 games really isn’t bad when you’ve never managed a team at senior level. Guy did better than Terry or Mick did.

2.) 02 Nov 2022 14:19:21
I feel like I have more than an iotas intelligence and I don't really understand this just being about his fathers health! Cause it just doesn't add up I'm afraid, well not unless something has drastically changed for him. His dad is 91 so even if he's improved not to sound harsh then that will only be a temporary situation. Also I would point out that this decision was as based on said health mere weeks ago?!
Then you say about us showing him we clearly wanted him, well how does that fit with our farily public approach for Beale just days after?! Not just a different manager but a manager at the complete opposite end of the experience spectrum no less!
Don't get me wrong I like your version of this, where the club was always entirely in control. The problem is that the timeline/reporting of this story doesn't support that notion in anyway at all?!

3.) 02 Nov 2022 14:36:06
He never did better than Mick and he has a team full of internationals where Mick might have had two or three.

15 Aug 2022 14:38:26
So the suggestion is Bruno wants to give neves 100k a week to keep away from man u. Arsenal etc. Hoever is out of favour with PSV and Ched Adams a possible recruit. Ramos says he dosnt want prem football this summer, and nunes not yet dead in water.

I think the only thing we can read out of that is that Hoever is not really committed to the game.

Abbeywolf

1.) 15 Aug 2022 16:27:35
Hi Abbeywolf,
It feels that this is a big week.
Mendes AND the boss (Guangchang) are both in town.
If they can't tempt Nunes, then that is that with him. However, I am sure there are others being discussed, so I now expect some signings.
Think it is telling that Shi and Sellars appear to be sidelined.
So hopefully some good news on that front as well!

2.) 15 Aug 2022 17:25:13
If that's correct Rugeley, that's got to be good news, whichever way you look at it. It could mean that serious transfers are afoot, I doubt its personnel changes.
To sign what we need Guo Guangchang would probably have to commit some additional funding from Fosun. Keeping Neves, upping his salary plus MGW staying will have altered the landscape and they won't risk another goal drought season, surely. Currently the Wolves/Fosun loan slate is clean. Accepting what Abbey says about Ramos its probably to sort Nunes and a striker, a good one.
Or it might just be that he was gagging for a pint of Bank's and some orange chips.

3.) 15 Aug 2022 17:20:03
Hoever needs selling, I was hoping he’d have a breakthrough season at PSV looks as bad of a deal as the Cutrone one.

I am told nunes deal is all but done with the player TRAVELLING TO ENGLAND to discuss terms (which he hasn’t yet done for anyone else) deadline was today to find one of the big 6 to sign him before he’d explore wolves proposal (we will find out how true this is by next week)

Nothing new on the striker front at the moment.

4.) 15 Aug 2022 18:54:02
It would seem the final problem with nunes is the 45+m sporting want. Ramos maybe playing for big 6 interest and still arrive if none are forthcoming. Personally I feel ched Adams story carries more weight. Looks like we maybe on the verge of being proved wrong on transfers and fosuns ongoing commitment, only time will tell.

5.) 15 Aug 2022 19:08:56
Neil Maupay anyone?

6.) 15 Aug 2022 20:00:18
Maupay is off to forest for 15m. I would of given him a go for that money. We don’t seem to buy proven Prem players though.

7.) 15 Aug 2022 20:38:04
Yes.we only buy Portuguese players ad a rule

31 Aug 2021 10:11:15
Sky saying spurs still interested in adama but we've put £50m tag on him. It'll be interesting right up to 11 tonight.

Abbeywolf

1.) 31 Aug 2021 11:02:57
Jeff is rightly playing hardball with Daniel Levy. £50mil paid up-front, for Traore, take it or leave it. No try-before-you-buy stuff.

2.) 31 Aug 2021 11:05:45
I’ve also seen a report suggesting a late bid by Spurs for Neves. I hope this doesn’t come to fruition.

{Ed002's Note - Ruben Neves (DM/CM) Wolves would look to get as close to €50M as they can should circumstances dictate Neves is sold, but they certainly don't want to sell and have made clear that he has a long-term contract and there have been no approaches at this time. Mr Mourinho is a huge fan and has tried to take him to three different clubs in the past - and he would, I am sure be interested in taking him to Roma but their focus right now iselsewhere. He has always been seen as an option to replace Matic at Manchester United, but they have other priorities to deal with first and preferred options - although they are not working out well so Wolves might see an offer. His agent has been actively offering him around and has spoken with Juventus who are looking to offload players but none that I would expect Wolves to be interested in. The Spurs coach would like him as an upgrade to Sissoko and Ndombele but it is likely both would need to leave as they are looking at another addition in midfield as well. Arsenal have preferred options but his agent is keen to have him move on so they cannot be discounted - although failing to sell Xhaka will likely take them out of the picture.}

3.) 31 Aug 2021 12:49:53
Wolves won't sell Neves with 3 years left on his contract.

{Ed077's Note - we will know for sure in a few hours I guess

Well, the concensus of media predictions go for a 1-1 draw today., most probably because no one can definitively choose the more likely winners. But I'm going for a high scoring game with the old gold coming out 3-2 . Can see RAN getting another with lemina and cunha. Whatever the weather enjoy the game all who go . COYW COYW COYW

Abbeywolf

1.) 06 Apr 2024 12:54:32
Gone for my usual 3-1

Also put an extra bet of 3-1 win with Sarabia 1st scorer and Cuhna assist at anytime at 200/1.

2.) 06 Apr 2024 13:03:59
My bro is up for it and believes well win 2 nil.

I think 1 nil to us.
COYW

3.) 06 Apr 2024 13:04:00
Sounds a fair bet Jas, good luck and I'd be happy too if that's how it comes off.

4.) 06 Apr 2024 16:04:48
By bad Jas. I hope we score another two before they pull one back.

5.) 06 Apr 2024 17:14:23
You lot need to get real.wer not going to win another game this ssn and finish a dissapointing 13th.at least half of that side today aren't good enuf.

02 Apr 2024 21:54:59
SA, you hero. we got away with a point tonight. Too slow too loose with some tired legs. We're paying the price now and we've got to get the mojo back. Samedo was terrific tonight and thought Doc performed well. RAN ran but was abit indecisive at times.
The youngster up front obviously isn't ready yet but gives it his all. Lemina sounds fatigued, quite understandable given all he's been through. Still a points a point and as it is results have kept us in reach. Let's hope we can muster something on sat. COYW

Abbeywolf

1.) 03 Apr 2024 00:12:59
Take a point away at Burnley in grim conditions and lightweight squad.Well done Gary, always seems to have a plan, I know Burnley a bit miffed but we had a couple of good chances to take all 3 points.
Cunha back is great news.No one seems to mention Dawson, we need him back as Kilman and Toti need his experience.

2.) 03 Apr 2024 06:47:32
We are struggling with injuries, plus been short up front all season, so the coaching staff and squad are having to be really creative with selection and tactics.
Result I would rate as acceptable in the circumstances.
Sa was at his best, not just shot-stopping, but making sure the saves went in to safe areas.
Without Dawson's leadership at the back, we are vulnerable.
Surprised Bueno started rather than Doyle in midfield.
Ait-Nouri showing his versatility and doing a solid job further forward.
Good to see Chiwome getting a run out.
Cunha back will help.
Now it is all about next season.

3.) 03 Apr 2024 06:56:01
Fairly happy with a point against a Burnley side who were full of confidence after their result against Chelsea and saw this game as a great opportunity with a depleted and tired Wolves side. I agree ? that we need another striker, but we also need another experienced Centre half. Without Dawson our defence looks awful. A mid table PL team would have beaten us last night.

4.) 03 Apr 2024 07:59:04
GON needs backing in the summer or he will be off.

30 Mar 2024 06:10:07
Morning all, looking forward to this evening albeit with a bit of worry. Dawson missing is a big concern with regard organisation at the back, add to that our lacking up front and I've changed my mind on our prospects. In all honesty if we get the draw I'll be happy.
That said GOn will know what he's got and organise things accordingly, we can't set up as poorly as the Coventry game, (can we?).
It could be a tough night but hopefully the adrenaline will be pumping so who knows? We may pull off another coup. COYW and enjoy the game everyone.

Abbeywolf

1.) 30 Mar 2024 08:49:58
Dawson is a bit miss for us but I think that having Cunha back will be massive. His drives from the middle of the park draws the opposition defenders out which will allow Sarabia a bit more freedom and allow Lemina and Gomes to come just that little further forward.

Plus McGinn missing for them will allow the game to flow as he's a cheating little c**t who's always diving about. Luiz and whoever else plays in midfield for them will be dominated by Lemina and Gomes.

I'm going for my usual 3-1

2.) 30 Mar 2024 10:32:50
I agree Jas, 3-1, villa being the home side though. rumour has it we are due a win against ye ? best of luck, may the best team win ??

3.) 30 Mar 2024 11:36:51
You're a decent bloke Whackattack. Hope you lose today but finish in the top four.

4.) 30 Mar 2024 12:23:37
I think today Villa will get their long awaited win against us, but I won't be too disheartened they are a very good team.
I've not gone for a bet today but if I had it'd be 2-1 Villa.

5.) 30 Mar 2024 13:28:22
I can’t see us winning today. Just have a feeling. Can’t expect much from Cunha right now and wonder how long he would last if started.
Start Doc up top? He did start out his career as a striker and he knows where the net is!

6.) 31 Mar 2024 13:14:47
Fabio Silva is the type of forward we needed yesterday-he's a good target man and he can hold up the ball.
Why on earth do we play our best midfielder on the left wing?
We were the better side for most of the first half and who knows what would have happened if RAN had put that extremely good chance away?

16 Mar 2024 07:40:57
Really looking forward to the match, no prediction just the hope and belief that GON will get his team selection right and our class and experience will see us through.
Enjoy the game all of you going, and let us tv viewers hear you getting behind the lads.

If we beat Coventry today, we have a great chance to lift the cup. The most difficult team to face is Liverpool.

2.) 16 Mar 2024 09:19:06
I think that Wolves will win 3-0. It would be nice to see Fraser getting a brace, with Lemina getting the third. Come on you Wolves.

3.) 16 Mar 2024 09:20:13
Totally agree Abbeywolf.
Let’s see some pride and passion to carry us through.

Looks like sasa to franfurt done but awaiting confirmation of a striker joining, possibly ings maybe adams.
Arteta not expecting neto this month. West ham havnt the funds to pay for kilman as it stands, and hwang won't be going anywhere unless it's big money. Mario's brother looks a definite/maybe. RAN may well be a surprise departure if the moneys right. All quiet on the Sa front. That's the gossip and clickbaits I've been noting and I reckon they're about right at the moment.

I'm 100% with you bully's, as you say there'd still be the odd poor decision, always will be regardless, and maybe a 'free' lunch offered under some circumstances but at least we'd know at the time, enjoy the game and argue the toss in the pub, which for me was part of the whole experience.

Let offside be offside again not a toe or kneecap but when a player gets a definite advantage. I honestly believe that VAR is making refs poorer in that they don't apply the same levels of thought to their decisions because they've somebody to 'correct' them. (Ie. Totis goal at Liverpoolin cup wasn't given because nobody could decide due to lack of camera).

But yes it's getting increasingly sole destroying to see wonderful goals chalked off for minor indiscretions. Thinking as we did the other night that we'd equalised twice, on both occasion I couldn't celebrate for expecting VAR to find something.

And, news from Sweden this morning that their FA are not going to use VAR. I wonder why? I would imagine they watch a lot of English prem on TV there, but how long until they'll be banned from EUFA if they don't comply?

Longmynd, money money money, who cares about football and the fans? The FA cup final will be played in Dubai after replays are stopped, top prem teams seeded at quarter final stage with computer assisted refereeing, virtual penalty shoot outs next, I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the Spanish super cup is/was to be moved out there already.

Last night's VAR involvement showed with hwangs goal that the games being taken away. Yes cunha raised his arm and it was a yellow, possibly even a red card but it didn't have any effect on the goal. You could argue that a foul should have been awarded but it didn't influence play contributing to the goal, and it didn't obstruct kleivert so it was off the ball contact, surely the goal awarded and cunha punished after? But no, the equaliser is cancelled by the 'computer says no' attitude of some detached manipulators, who's decisions flummox.
Kilmans effort, whilst his heel being on the line drawn out for offside, could never of benefitted from that marginal amount in finishing so it made no difference. Except for the zealots on VAR and the rules they apply in disallowing a goal. How can anyone play to those dictats? It surely changes the game of football as we knew it and why don't they listen to the chants of the PAYING fan who they see as their cash cows.

Thank you Sa, we could have been totally embarrassed. Tactics hard to fathom tonight, lemina lost/wasted in his role at the back. Sarabia not at the races. Hwang seeing little but a cracking goal that wasn't due to my friends and yours VAR&Atwell. Cunha lucky not to see red and again wasted taking corners etc. A tired weary performance. Plus why did VAR look at kilmans offside? Pointless.

Unsurprisingly I agree wholeheartedly with let's be rational on the VAR silencing and hiding from scrutiny.
Journos won't upset the applecart for fear of being excluded from briefings, managers can't question things for fear of punishment, clubs for fear of fines.
VAR like 'the computer says no' isn't allowing any 'common sense' to be applied and its ruining our sport and in some cases the aspirations of smaller clubs.

Surely the FA hear the derisive chants, surely it can't be good for the physical well being of players to stand around waiting for decisions.

Obviously the emotional turmoil of spectators awaiting outcomes can't be good for the spectacle.

So why do they persist with this unsatisfactory model? Criticism shrugged off without explanation or those that do being penalised.

As the game progressed? Is the game more enjoyable to watch? Can we say more wrongs have been righted that would have been accepted if given by a ref alone, because I feel that the level of reffing as declined since the responsibility is not solely on the heads. Ridiculous laws on handball and offside seem to benefit the lines drawn by VAR and TV companies to repeatedly replay them.

Scrap the system to purely goal line tech and give us our game and sport back, part of which was debating the 'iffy' decisions made after the game, but accepting them too, without the conspiracies that arise under the detached decision makers now.
