If Wolves go up this season Wolves will need to spend 150mill minimum. At least 2 strikers 2 midfielders and thats keeping Andre and James who Wolves should buy. A goalie plus RB,LB,RW keep Mane and Lopez going to be hard the way Wolves operate.

Agree6 Disagree0

DMac - hard to disagree.
The side is short of quality in the forward areas and this is the hardest to acquire.
It makes the decision not to sign Lankshear baffling especially as he was sold for relatively speaking peanuts, certainly peanuts compared to your very realistic, (although almost impossible to see Wolves spending) £150m budget!

i massively disagree. if we go up its because the players are good enough to play in the prem.

we would need literally 1 or 2 strikers/ wingers and maybe 1 new centre back.

were talking 50 mil.

No chance ordinary. Our team is still very similar to the one that went down last year winning only 3 games. So 2 years later, that team would be good enough? Having a laugh.

Lankshear and Vivek were the two standout players I would have liked and both ended up at Middlesbrough, however, Lankshear would have joined here as second choice striker to Raul at the time which possible would have been less attractive to him than what he has at Middlesbrough. We would be in such a stringer position had we signed him but he probably chose right for the circumstances at the time.

I wanted Vivek to join but that's when we thought Sa and Johnstone were both leaving.

I was disappointed we didnt make a swoop for Parrot too but I didnt realise how good he was as he is lighting it up at Betis I believe.

Indi believe we should have held on to Sasa as a second choice forward. I think he could have been useful but we got an injury prone player off the books and we are currently 2nd.

OWT - proving the point about it being all about opinions.

How do you see the first 11?
Sa in goal?
At RB 37 year old Trippier or Jackson or someone else?
Surprisingly I am happy with the options at CB - who would you drop?
Bueno at LB?
DM - Andre and James or do you prefer Munetsi?
Lopez and who makes up your 3 Mane and Gomes?
and the forward?

Ordinary you must be living in a dream world if you think 2 new signings. And thats if we get in the PL next season, thats why Wolves went down in the first place. Sell best players replace with crap but not enough crap to secure PL statuse.

Gdawg - do you think that is the case? Lankshear was told he would be back up to Raul??
If so that was madness it surely should have been the other way round!!
Raul, whilst still a great leader and influence in the dressing room, plus a solid option as an impact player, was never going to be the main man 90 mins a game week in week out.

He was the cherry on the cake but it was surely obvious he was not the cake that should have been Lankshear!!!

I read that Wolves pulled out of the Lankshear deal as Spurs insisted on a 20% sell on clause and they wanted. Although Boro have paid £12m for the player, should they get promoted, they have to pay another £12m.

If he gets an England cap, they owe another £8m. So it looks like at the end of this season, he would have actually cost £32m, not £12m.

When you look at what promotion is worth and what an England capped striker who can carry a team to promotion is worth that is an absolute bargain.
Since the payments were also conditional upon success it was also a very low risk transfer for Boro.

One suspects that if Wolves go up they will have no choice but to make more expensive and far higher risk deals than this one!
Madness!!

The £32m would be cheap if we went up. I think the sticking point was the 20% sell on fee and Spurs insistence that they keep the image and advertising rights. He will no doubt get an England call up and the sponsorships will come rolling in but it appears that Spurs will gain from this not Boro.

We ain't doing too bad without him and hopefully we can add a striker in January.
