Please treat this as nothing more than a rumour for now.

Former Wolverhampton president, Jeff Shi, has allegedly violated one of England's laws.

As of now, this is being reported through sources available up to this moment of publication, with the possibility that it may just be a rumor; all those mentioned in this publication are innocent until proven otherwise.

Reports indicate that Jeff Shi, former president of the Wolves and one of the only representatives of the FOSUN Sports Group at Companies House, failed to complete the Confirmation of his Identity Verification, which missed its deadline.

This means that, since that date has passed, the legal consequences for non-compliance are now active. According to British law, acting as a Director without completing the verification after the deadline is a criminal offense.

Companies House can now issue fines (up to £5000), civil penalties, or initiate legal proceedings.

This also triggers a chain reaction…

Since the sole Director failed to complete the Identity Verification, this leaves the Group unable to file its Confirmation Statement… Another violation!

Does this affect Wolves, as he is no longer a director at the club? Companies House lists Matthew Wild, John Bowater, John Gough, and Nathan Shi as club directors.

I have no idea, Goodwhileitlasted, mate, I'm monitoring it all very closely, as I said, and as the X poster said, it may just be nothing more than a rumour.

I would ignore it, as it does not comply. He resigned his post on 19th December 2025.
I want him gone as much as any Wolves fan, but I do not believe this to be correct.

As of this morning, Companies House records show that a certain Yu Shi, born July 1977, resigned as director 19 December 2025, and his verification status is complete (i.e. compliant).

Maybe his status was not complete previously, but it is now. Because of new legislation, many thousands of directors are struggling to prove their ID status at Companies House.
