What is Peixoto going to do moving forward?
He has to drop Armstrong. The guy offers almost nothing as a target man, number 9, whatever he's meant to be. Neave would be a better option. Armstrong isn't going to take one of the wide forward positions, so there is no reason for him to be picked. He's anonymous most of the time, his decision making is poor, and any threat he offers in the box is quickly nullified. He too often tries clever balls that aren't particularly clever. That chance against Blues, with seconds left on the clock, sums him up. A decent striker would have buried that. They would have simply placed it in the net. Poor decision making.
Hugo Bueno was marking Lankshear for the Middlesbrough goal. Once again Toti goes missing. Krejci in the team and that cross probably gets headed out. Lankshear had a free header. Mosquera is a better option at LCB. Toti was effective at out-muscling Lankshear, but it was always at times when Middlesbrough were offering very little threat going forward. When he was actually needed, he was his usual self.
Hopefully Peixoto will start doing what he was doing in pre season and play Djiga and Mosquera together. I would rather see Krejci at LCB, but that doesn't look like an option. If a club had bid decent money for him in the summer window, he would have left.
I agree with RKO regarding Tommy Doyle. He should not be starting games. He was close to awful against Middlesbrough. When you have Andre, Boubacar Traore, Munetsi, James, Bellegarde, Lopez and Mane in the team you do not pick Doyle in front of any of them. He has no pace or strength. He has a decent footballing brain and he can pick a pass but that is it. The Middlesbrough players had him on toast. A poor signing from Man City who came in when Jeff was asset stripping.
When Andre is poor, Wolves are poor. When Andre plays well, Wolves will almost always win. He's a very inconsistent player. He was poor against Middlesbrough. Peixoto needs to show him that he's not the first name on the team sheet.
Wolves fans still think that Wolves can challenge for the top two. At the moment they can't. Other key teams have a striker who will always score goals at the right time. Wolves have that player in Jimenez, but he's 35 years of age, he's currently injured, and he hasn't looked fit from day one of the Championship season kicking off. If Jimenez comes back and is the player he can be then Wolves have a chance. Fully fit, he's the most intelligent capable striker in the Championship.
Lankshear scored because of Toti. Other than that, against Wolves he wasn't anything to write home about.
Replacing Jimenez with Armstrong and playing the type of football that requires a target man will see Wolves struggle more than flourish. If Neave isn't ready for first team football, and Jimenez isn't fit, then Peixoto has to rethink his tactics.

You can't give Munetsi a free pass. He was a joke vs Boro. His first touch is laughable. There was one moment where he played the worst pass I've ever seen. He's hopeless, and a few goals can't hide that.
You also can't give Mane a free pass. That was one of his worst performances in a Wolves shirt. For the love of God, Peixoto, Mane is not a winger. Wake up, man.
