Although the site has lots of different views on a range of subjects and certainly has a wider spectrum of views on Fosun than the Greens to Reform on politics, on the playing side the site is almost entirely in agreement.
I think pretty much everyone agrees that Trippier, Raul and Andre are among the very top players in the entire Championship.
They virtually all agree that, all or at least most of, Lopez, Bueno/Wolfe, Sa and Krejci - if they stay - Mane, Armstrong, Yerson and Gomes are all good if not better than good Championship players.
So it would seem pretty much impossible for this side not to dominate the league?
But, and it's a huge but, nearly everyone also agrees that Bentley, Toti and Munetsi, (who currently all look like they will be first choices at the start of the season), are lower end Championship or worse players. Thus Wolves may well waste a golden opportunity to gain promotion.
Note it is probably a one season only opportunity given the age and likely one season only offer from Andre of the top 3 players.

How can the club not see this?
Surely Sa and Krejci can be persuaded to give the club one more year?
Then merely buy a cheap experienced CB - Mings or Webster? - and if the finances allow this lad James for CM.
Note both would also be home grown.
If the finances are this tight the fee paid for Said - what a strange transfer - looks like, even before his injury, it was very very badly wasted. He plays in a position where the depth is shocking but it is not a position where an addition was imperative as GK, CB and CM are!
The failure to sell the deadwood including Santi who many on here rate (although I'm far from convinced) so that they can make a handful of cheap but essential signings is yet another very worrying failure by the club.
The lack of these signings may well bite especially if the club gets a couple of injuries to its handful of better players as the depth - i.e. the deadwood - is way off the pace. {of course that is why they are seemingly hard to shift on the wages Jeff stupidly put them on. }
Tks Jeff!

Santi looked okay last season, whereas most of our team looked terrible. But Agbadou looked amazing for a while, and quickly went off the ball playing the same position. I see definitely similar potential to happen with Santi, so I would definitely prefer him to be offloaded whilst he still has a market value.

Indeed, GDawg 14, I completely agree, and I strongly suspect he wants out.
But he is still here. No fee has been received and no replacement (upgrade and homegrown!) has arrived.
I wonder why?
Ps, what on earth happened with Agbadou?

As usual, Future buddy, I couldn't agree more, mate. I worry that, yet again, the club are woefully underestimating the quality of the league we are currently in. As we saw last week, we currently have a back line which a League Two club could regularly and easily pick holes in, and that should have rung some alarm bells! We defo need an experienced CB, but I just can't see it happening until we move some players on. I also agree on the signing of Said. I do hope I'm wrong, but it looks like a bizarre choice for me, to be honest.

We paid £7.7m for an entirely unproven player who couldn't make it through 30 mins without picking up a serious injury, whilst WHU signed Soloman for £5m, who is very accomplished in the Champ! I hope I'm wrong, but yet again it feels like we are pinching the pennies in all the wrong places. I think some are underestimating the general quality of the Champ, because, right now, our back line looks mid-table at absolute best. Let's hope we are both wrong, eh, cause, if not, as you say, we could get stuck in the Champ for a long time to come. ?

I just fear we don't have the whatever... passion, quality, experience the top management team to be totally focussed, determined and able to choose, decide and negotiate. Ins or outs.
I'm amazed, and v v pleased we got Raul and Tripper to come, and persuade Andre to stay.
Money a big consideration, of course, but come on, other clubs do better!
And, supposedly, we own / control 20% of Mendes.

Sure, he's as slippery as you know what, out for himself, and with too many irons in the fire, but can you see other clubs in that position not sitting on him like a ton of bricks and using him for all he could be worth!?
Not despairing, yet. Hoping and more hope.
