Does anyone have any rumours, or are Wolves going to do what they normally do and make an absolute boll***s of the transfer window?
1.) 08 Jun 2026 16:49:26
We'll see when the window opens next week, I guess. Early signings will bring optimism. The majority of new players need to be signed before the squad returns for pre-season.

Rafiki Said coming in is only going to go one of two ways. He's either going to be brilliant or bloody dreadful. Twenty-six years old, not a huge amount of games under his belt, and no experience of English football. Strikes me as a player a mid-table Championship club would sign. Underwhelming ain't the word.
1.) 10 Jul 2026 21:36:55
30+ games in each of the last 4 seasons. 8 goals, 4 assists in 25/26. 8 matches, 3 goals in World Cup qualifiers.
2.) 10 Jul 2026 21:02:27
Unfortunately we are shopping in Lidl not Harrods, good times are well and truly over, has this guy really been scouted or is he just someone we can afford and someone who is willing to sign for us??
3.) 10 Jul 2026 22:21:14
Will some of you ever be happy? No signings, the club are being the usual, leaving it late, making a signing, he's not up to scratch. Give the guy a chance and stop moaning.

Being realistic - removing the Football Manager mentality - how many players do Wolves need to get rid of?
The club has to sell Tchatchoua, Tolu and Johnstone. I know other players are likely to leave, but certain players staying won’t be the end of the world. The club did the right thing in releasing Doherty.
Looking at the team, the only players I can see that definitely need dumping are Tchatchoua, Tolu and Johnstone. Johnstone isn’t a good keeper, and he’s had too many ‘injuries’. It might seem harsh, but Tchatchoua and Tolu were dreadful signings.
Have I missed any players that need dumping as a priority?
1.) 09 Jul 2026 10:22:30
Hwang, just for starters, Zephyr.
2.) 09 Jul 2026 10:55:09
Jesus, forgot about him. That's quite depressing that I forgot about Hwang: a Wolves player who's been pretty much anonymous from day one.
3.) 09 Jul 2026 11:13:55
From a football or financial perspective?
Axiomatically, from a football perspective, most of the players are not good enough for the Prem, but many of those may be adequate in the Champ - assuming they want to stay.
So, it is hard to say how many Wolves need to sell - probably, as you say, only a handful - if survival in the Champ is your aim.
However, it is highly likely that Wolves need to sell to both reduce costs - wages and amort - so as to stay within the new SCR rules, but also to pay down debt and cover the extraordinarily high non football related costs the club seemingly incurs.
This is before any expenditure on developing the squad.
In this case, of course, it depends on who you sell and for how much.
Selling low earners who are home grown or with modest amortisations will make very little impact on SCR, but if you sell anyone for serious money, this will help with the other matters.
For me, the club should attempt to get promoted this year, so probably needs to lose about a dozen inadequate players and add 5 or 6 better quality ones.
The squad is probably too large anyway and needs culling and thinning.
I have detailed names of those to leave and ideas for those to join previously - all of which could be done in a financially sensible way.
PS Calum Wilslon on a free would have been great, but with a club like Brentford, who Wolves astonishingly are now miles below in the pecking order, interested, unrealistic sadly.
4.) 09 Jul 2026 14:16:43
Bellegarde, Fer Lopez, in addition to those mentioned above.
5.) 09 Jul 2026 14:31:39
Bellegarde and Lopez don't need to be sold as a matter of urgency. Both players will be useful in the Championship. Tchatchoua and Tolu have no future at Wolves. Same for Hwang. Hwang is less of an issue, but Wolves signed him purely for commercial reasons, and he's on about 90k per week.

Alfie Pond joining League Two side Chesterfield shows how difficult it is for academy players to make the step up to the first team. Once lauded as a future first team player. Hopefully in a few years he'll be playing at a decent level.

Rob Edwards about to become the new Burnley manager?! The manager merry-go-round in English football is a f****** embarrassment. Imagine Burnley pipping Wolves to automatic promotion and then Wolves getting knocked out of the play offs by Boro!!
1.) 28 Jun 2026 08:32:31
Hope he takes Armstrong with him he, s about as clapped out as your'e zephr
2.) 28 Jun 2026 15:23:10
Well there you go. A few on here are suggesting his managerial career might have taken a knock. Not seen the odds on Burnley getting promoted, but probably not that high. What a great job football management is. Spend the owner's money, and if/when it doesn't work out, get fired with a huge payoff. Walk into another role, and repeat.
3.) 28 Jun 2026 16:39:46
I think it's safe to say that Rob Edwards is already a master of getting hired and fired. A very average coach who'll soon have his ninth managerial appointment by the age of 43!! Good luck to the guy. He's found a nice little niche.
4.) 29 Jun 2026 06:15:53
Think he turned the job down. Having a break from managing. Spending time with his family.
He was mentioned as a contender for the Wales job. Not sure what happened to that.
5.) 29 Jun 2026 12:30:25
Hope he gets back and gets a decent job after all of this. Not all of us blame him as the common denominator at the club, and not the manager. Surely Vitor has proven that. Hence why he is still in the Prem.
6.) 29 Jun 2026 13:54:14
Probably best that Rob Edwards is taking a break from management. Too many jobs, too soon. After the debacle of leaving Boro and moving to Wolves backfired, Rob needs mental clarity, and a break now will give him time to reflect at length. Stick rather than twist.

Relieved that I won’t be seeing VAR in the Championship next season. England vs Ghana last night saw VAR sink to new depths. Absolute stonewall penalty not even reviewed. What excuse will be given? Until humans are removed from the decision making, VAR will continue so be the worst thing ever s*** into civilisation.
It’s almost as bad as the ‘hydration’ breaks.
The older I get, the more cynical I get, the more I hate football. One certainty: the Yanks won’t stop until they’ve ruined the Premier League.
1.) 24 Jun 2026 13:30:33
See, we have had to change plans with the pre-season friendly to satisfy the arrogance in Erdington.
2.) 25 Jun 2026 08:35:51
Are those 'Hydration Breaks' just an excuse for the yanks to have some TV advertising time? That's how thing normally work over there. I was watching baseball on TV when I was in Oregon a few years ago, never been as bored in my life (even watching wolves sometimes).
{Ed001's Note - yes.}
3.) 25 Jun 2026 14:53:05
Nothing to do with hydration, all about advertising, they can make a million dollars out of every break. It's common knowledge in the US.
4.) 25 Jun 2026 17:12:31
The Powerade Hydration Break was the clue, and Infantino had the nerve to say it wasn't a commercial decision.

Wolves don't need Dobbin. He's a left winger and the club has signed Said. Rodney Gomes can also cover that position.
Wolves currently need, as a matter of urgency, a new GK and a player to complement Andre.
There should be plenty of movement in the next couple of weeks.
The stupid 5 1/2 week World Cup has messed things up for most clubs. It'll be even worse when it becomes a six-week tournament.
12 Jul 2026 17:09:02
Possible that Wolves' thinking is that they want rid of him. Not have another Fabio on their hands, where he's persistently hanging round like a bad smell.
So long as Wolves don't get their pants fully pulled down, get as much as possible and pie him off. He was an atrocious signing.
Whoever scouted/suggested him would be better off running a spud stand.
Wolves aren't the only club guilty of doing this. How much did Chelsea lose on Raheem Sterling? Man City once gave Wayne Bridge a £25 million contract to basically sit at home supping tea.
06 Jul 2026 19:46:13
Would be amazing, but isn't he on about £400,000 a week tax free?! If Wolves were promoted back to the PL, I can see Neves coming back. He'll have made enough money for a more than comfortable life, and Wolves would be able to pay him about £180,000 per week.
28 Jun 2026 09:23:44
Makes sense, especially when you've just banked £116 million for Anderson. Joao isn't as good as Anderson, but he's more than good enough for Forest and their aspirations.
Have to feel for Newcastle. Needed to sell Anderson to comply with PSR and got a poxy £35 million for him.
The PL is an utter snooze fest. What chance do the lesser clubs have when they have to spend £50 million on Larsen or £55 million on Wissa, and Man City can spend a British record on a midfielder and it doesn't even touch the sides? The spending rules changing will do nothing other than bring Spurs back into the fold and make Man Utd title contenders again.
Their revenue will allow this.
Fosun need to start becoming geniuses at player trading, otherwise Wolves back in the Premier League will be the same as it has been for the last few years.
26 Jun 2026 11:39:12
Could be a very good signing. I know Wolves have been linked with him before. Not too sure about the success rates of French players in English football. For example, not on the same planet as players coming from Portugal, Africa, Scandinavia, etc. I could be wrong.
Whatever happens, I wouldn't mind Wolves signing his team mate Louis Leroux. I love his documentaries.

12 Jul 2026 16:57:56
I don’t think Fosun need to buy players to keep Wolves in the Chump while they organise a sale of the club.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to move unhappy/hopeless players out, get players in, get Wolves back into the PL, and then sell the club with it in a better financial/sellable position?
On a happier note, it made me laugh seeing Ki-Jana Hoever back for pre-season training.
Didn’t Wolves sign him when HMS Bounty was setting off to Tahiti? Hoever easily ranks as one of the worst signings Wolves have ever made.

Give it a rest, Moby. So long as people are respectful, they are entitled to their opinion. I realise I'm picking you up on your opinion, but you're contradicting yourself from one message to another. It's becoming tiresome.
09 Jul 2026 20:37:17
Excellent points made, Bully. I'm starting to warm to the idea of Hwang!
His ineffectiveness has not entirely been his fault. Wolves have stuck with a wretched five-at-the-back system for years, which possibly doesn't suit Hwang. Maybe Peixoto will get the best out of him.
One could look at Hwang as a Steve Bull-type of player who needs an Andy Mutch next to him. When he had Neto and Cunha alongside him, he was, albeit for a short while, very impressive.
Hwang does have a good attitude, and he does love Wolves. RKO could be right.
09 Jul 2026 17:09:53
I get where you're coming from, RKO, but Hwang is too often a passenger in games. Hwang has a good attitude, but as a player, he's a slightly better version of Tolu.
I've watched too many games where Hwang is playing and you forget he's on the pitch.
09 Jul 2026 14:31:39
