Has Sporting Lisbon's claim over Rui Patricio gone away yet? It seems awfully quiet.

wollabby

{Ed001's Note - not yet mate, but it will take time.}

Raheem Sterling has withdrawn from the England squad due to a back injury.
Can you injure your back diving? When he got that free kick against us at Molineux I nearly called an ambulance for him.

As regards Barry Douglas it would seem a mystifying move. I can only surmise that Nuno has seen something in his game that concerns him in relation to the PL and believes he can magic an upgrade on Baz. If it was to do with his length of contract that would be easily solved if Nuno had complete confidence in him, just give him a new deal. So it may seem a rough and tough decision but perhaps it best for both parties.

{Ed047's Note - I must admit im surprised by it as 14 assists last season by a defender is bloody awesome, However i trust Nuno knows what he is doing as he has brought well so far and with a few more likley arrivals Wolves will have a good squad}.

1.) 26 Jul 2018 10:04:05
When you look at all the details it makes sense.
2-4 million profit on a player in the last year of his contract and 28 years old with questions raised about his defensive ability. Yes 14 assists and his set pieces were very good, but we have Neves and Moutinho who can replicate the set pieces and get the assists. Good business, no time for sentiment where Fosun and Nuno are concerned.

All the best Barry, thank you for your service, you will be remembered fondly and as part of the start of the New Wolves.

2.) 26 Jul 2018 10:40:15
Guys BD to me was a revelation last season, BUT his powers of recovery were not the best and towards the latter end of the season opposition knew this and played on it.
So come this season Nuno highlighted the need for someone a bit higher in quality I believe.
I am sorry to see him go but Fosun has not achieved their success by being sentimental.
Be prepared for dismantling of last seasons squad.
In Nuno I trust with all fingers crossed!

3.) 26 Jul 2018 12:25:38
We will have to get used to this sort of thing. It does not mean that Barry Douglas was not good enough, but that we are moving on to better things. Nuno seems to be a great tactician and I can't see him being satisfied until we are world beaters!

4.) 26 Jul 2018 15:02:38
Nuno certainly didn't come to Wolves to coach a mid-table Premier League team. He could have gone to other Champions League teams but he chose Wolves because he knows the owners want to take this team to the heights of world football.
How long it will take is anybody's guess but if you think Jeff Shi is going to putz around with a couple changes here and a couple changes there every year for 10 years while we slowly work our way up the table, then you are sorely mistaken.
For those of you editors who don't know, Wolves have beefed up their scouting over the last two years and now know all of the top players in the world and their strengths and weaknesses. They have an idea what they will sell for and if they are good enough to play for a top Premier League or Champions League team.
Wolves are not doing this on the cheap, they are approaching this after consulting with other top international teams to see how they have been set up to reach their levels of success.
They know how many scouts top teams need. They know what kinds of training facilities top teams need. They know what kind of backroom staff top teams have and they are trying to emulate that to improve Wolves chances of becoming equally as successful.
That is why I think Wolves will do much better than many of you think.

5.) 26 Jul 2018 18:00:06
I’m very disappointed to see Barry Douglas go, particularly for such a modest fee. IMO his all round game is more than good enough for the Premier League. Jonny his replacement is right footed with modest experience- let’s hope the manager does regret it.

21 Jul 2018 07:32:06
Anyone know what has happened to Connor Ronan? I don't think he's been invovled pre-season. He seems to have disappeared which I find surprising.

wollabby

1.) 21 Jul 2018 11:24:28
And has Michael Zyro returned?

2.) 21 Jul 2018 14:20:59
Be a good one for local press to pick up on. I was expecting a fair few fringe players to be moved on one way or another. We’ve got a lot of players on the books still. A lot of which will be wanting first team football.

3.) 21 Jul 2018 20:16:45
I think we've gone beyond Zyro unfortunately. He wasn't a bad player before his injury. But hard to see a future at Wolves for him now.

A few other loanees reporting for duty I suspect.

Just seen that Boly has said he wants to stay, I will be delighted to be proved wrong! Go get him signed up Nuno.

Oh dear me, caught with their Baggies down again. WBA 1 Leicester 3.

wollabby

1.) 10 Mar 2018 21:56:37
Forget Baggies until Wolves post-Nuno face them in the Championship next season. Fulham will win this srason’s Championship, Cardiff second. Wolves in Play-Offs with Middlesbrough, Derby, Aston Villa. Expect Middlesbrough to win it.

2.) 11 Mar 2018 01:55:15
Make up your mind WobblyBobblies. A few weeks ago you said Villa will win the league and Sheff Utd to win the play offs. Why the change of tune?

3.) 11 Mar 2018 01:57:39
But back in December you said Wolves and Villa would both be in the PL next season. Your predictions change from day to day.

4.) 11 Mar 2018 10:05:06
Wobbly not backing your own club is stupid cause of one loss, your delusional I bet if we’d one that game you’d put us first!

1.) 01 Sep 2018 19:12:25
Wollaby yes big week for Leo a goal and an assist Patricio top draw keeper kept us in it and pace on the break great win hammers fans on there forum saying we weren’t that good guess we didn’t have to be ps thank god we didn’t sign wiltshere over payed and over rated.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 19:24:21
I always said Wilshere would have been a terrible signing. Overrated and bad attitude. Thank God we didn't go there! Fantastic result today and we weren't anywhere near our best. Unlike some I think International break has come at a good time. Savour the 3 points and work on the little things that we need to improve on. going to be a good season!

09 Aug 2018 20:01:02
I take it that we didn't get De Sousa over the line?

wollabby

09 Aug 2018 11:49:19
So Zinchenko made my point for me Lowwolf. Just as well you're not managing the club then.

1.) 09 Aug 2018 13:33:46
Wish I knew everything like you mate, you should be on The Chase.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 14:35:23
I've been on, Cannock Chase. If you can't take it don't dish it out Lowerwolf.

3.) 09 Aug 2018 16:16:48
You started the nit picking “mate”!

4.) 09 Aug 2018 16:17:50
I posted something that was headline on sky sport, you soon jumped in picking fault.

5.) 09 Aug 2018 16:31:16
I don't think so, you tried, and failed to belittle my post which was an opinion to which I'm entitled. Like I say if you can't take it don't dish it out. Lowest of the Lowwolf.

6.) 09 Aug 2018 16:58:28
I posted a rumour, on the rumours page! That was headline on sky. You were quick enough to call it old news.
Fact!
Yes- it was Reported weeks back we’d made the offer, but yesterday it was reported that Man City had officially accepted the offer.

08 Aug 2018 20:04:09
Sorry forgot Gladon, says it all.

Loads of business to be done in the next 36 hrs. Where are Ronan, Delandes, Mason, Zyro, Enobakhare, Batth, Ofuso-Ayeh and Graham going? A lot of activity in the next day and a half me thinks.

wollabby

1.) 08 Aug 2018 20:26:18
Where did you get 36 hours from wollabby? Window to buy ends 5pm Thursday. Yes, we could sell the players that you mentioned after that as long as it is to a non English team.

2.) 08 Aug 2018 20:28:00
Let me correct myself: We could loan out players to English teams outside of the premiership until the end of the month.

3.) 08 Aug 2018 20:50:53
Yup, so we won't be able to loan Gladon, Deslandes, Graham or Mason to another Premier team. I think we can cope.

4.) 09 Aug 2018 07:05:24
Hawkeyeusa, are you Donald Trump? He creates arguments over nothing by splitting hairs.

Zinchenko said himself that life in the U. K. didn't suit him. With that attitude IMO he's bad news. Lowwolf, you obviously haven't been keeping up to date, the fee was reportedly agreed a month ago and Zinchenko has not committed himself. We only want players committed to the cause thank you, not those who wait for a better option and then decide in our favour when doesn't come along.

Done a month ago, he's nothing but decisive, I'd favour pulling out.

Well Wolvessteve seems your the one panicing. I'll believe it when it happens but in all honesty he's useful all down the left side which would allow Jonny to cover both right and left. So could be a shrewd move. One thing Nuno and Fosun don't do is panic.

How does that figure if, as reported, WW want to pay for Traore in installments due to FFP. Actually I don't believe either.

Thought the Ed was supposed to be impartial not use the Wolves site to promote his own team. I've thought for sometime this site was going downhill, now it seems to have hit rock bottom. You can do better than this Ed.

Hanson, Lawrenson, Rednap, MacManaman, Murphy, Carragher, Thompson, Souness, Fowler, Barnes, they all need a lobotomy transplant.

The point about Zinchenko is he's messed about waiting for the highest bidder and then when it didn't come, ducking for cover. He's clearly not wanted by Guardiola and it must be a big mistake for him to stay on. He has said he doesn't like U. K. life and there doesn't appear to be any opportunities for him elsewhere. I'm delighted if he doesn't come to Wolves. O. K. he's a young lad but the way he has behaved IMO is very unprofessional. We can do without him and any other prima donnas.
