Middlesbrough have told Wolves £35m + add ons is the price for Hackney Wolves unwilling to pay that still trying to bring in a cm and st but unlikely to happen brownhill still in talks but requested a heavy sign on fee sasa could head out on loan aswell as a few fringe players

exwolves

1.) 01 Sep 2025 15:53:17
Do you think we could sign Oxlade Chamberlai?

2.) 01 Sep 2025 15:56:05
Wolves' incomings done. Brownhill turned us down ???? how embarrassing.

3.) 01 Sep 2025 16:17:49
Told player requested a £10m singing on fee which was why Wolves walked away player has also reject a move to Leicester who were willing to give him a high sign on fee lower then £10m and a high wage . Could be revisited after window close if player fails to find a move

4.) 01 Sep 2025 16:18:17
Pay the fee for Hayden Hackney.
Still need a cb and fw

5.) 01 Sep 2025 16:23:33
Frankly we are an embarrassment. We own a share of the biggest player agency in the world and we can't get decent players in during quite a long transfer window. What a joke our club has become! Jeff Shi and Fosun get out before it's too late.

6.) 01 Sep 2025 16:32:03
Wolves are reportedly interested in a January loan move for Japhet Tanganga.
He wants to move to Wolves.

7.) 01 Sep 2025 16:35:17
As expected we'll be signing no one.

8.) 01 Sep 2025 16:53:23
player wanted a 10 million signing on fee? he’s lucky to get £100 grand a week, let alone that . greedy little runt . he can do one as far as i'm concerned . I agree with the other comment that paying an extra £5 million for hackney would be ok, but you wouldn’t get a bag of orange chips from skinflints r us

9.) 01 Sep 2025 17:07:53
Wolvesrstyngup, have they changed the rules today then? Why would Wolves want to loan him in January considering he can't play for a 3rd team this season?

10.) 01 Sep 2025 17:23:29
Wolves think he could be available in January and are reportedly planning on ‘figuring something out’ between them, the FA and FIFA. Tanganga would be interested but it depends on how Sheffield United are doing come January. Player wants to return to the premier league. Vitor pereira has spoken before of his interest and is could reignite that. That’s the situation Wanderingstar.

11.) 01 Sep 2025 17:47:42
So why didn't Wolves buy him last week when he was available for just over £1m?

12.) 01 Sep 2025 18:19:15
They were looking at Krejci then, but now it seems like Japhet could actually happen.

13.) 01 Sep 2025 18:21:17
Although there is a fear that Crystal Palace want him and will sign him in January if Guehi is sold

14.) 01 Sep 2025 20:12:55
Can't see FIFA, UEFA or the FA bending the rules for Wolves and Japhet Tanganga.

15.) 02 Sep 2025 01:12:16
Next summer is apparently more likely. Smart acquisition, for a championship campaign. Right, Wanderingstar?

01 Sep 2025 00:07:10
Uche now in London to do a medical at Crystal Palace deal agreed

exwolves

1.) 01 Sep 2025 03:04:58
Who's he then?

2.) 01 Sep 2025 08:19:58
Don't care about him. We've got Tolu.

3.) 01 Sep 2025 09:13:32
Apparently the senior team, ie CEO etc were far more impressive in their contact with the player. No surprises there!

4.) 01 Sep 2025 09:16:40
Yes. Don't care.

5.) 01 Sep 2025 10:20:25
Love the attitude but as we all know he is one of the many players who may have made a difference this season but chose to go elsewhere.
I know it is boring but as I ask over and over again - but never get a reply - why? Why don't players want to join and why do players want to leave?
The answers are of course obvious and will not change until the club does.
Sadly that won't happen this window and consequently Wolves are probably going to rely to some extent on Munetsi, Hwang, Bellegarde, etc etc etc
Having seen the games/results across the Premier League so far this year it is pretty hard to see which teams are obviously at Wolves level.
I wrote about Wolves road to survival but Everton, one of the key games in that route, were clearly a class above and the loss at home was far from undeserved!

6.) 01 Sep 2025 10:39:39
If the window ends and we don't bring in anyone other than the new striker we are going to be in a right mess.

7.) 01 Sep 2025 10:55:41
we made Everton look good. Giving the ball away far to easily and not doing simple things like tracking runs and being able to pass to another Wolves player. Certain players should have been dropped due to recent performances

8.) 01 Sep 2025 11:11:25
I expect we'll bring in Raskin late in the window then possibly Brownhill later on as he's a free agent and can sign anytime.

9.) 01 Sep 2025 11:21:34
Exactly Alex we played well against City and Everton.
But we switched off too often in both games.
Giving the ball away is disasterous at this level.
One point I would make is the players do seem to be fitter this season looking at the way they press.
But I think its this press that is leaving us open on the transition as well.
It may take time to come up with solutions but the overall squad isn't awful they have replaced the RWB, LWB and FW.
But if we give away the ball like we have been we will go down.
Another CB would be ideal today just to shore us up and help us to start keeping clean sheets.

10.) 01 Sep 2025 12:03:34
the thing with a press is you have to get it right otherwise you are left short. I have noticed a few times some players press and others don't or the timing is slightly off. When this happens the other team will just go right through you. I think we really to focus on defence as it is awful. Aa lot of it is organisation and being aware of players making runs. Especially the target men.

11.) 01 Sep 2025 12:17:39
Madman I often agree but not this time.
The squad is truly awful!
How many of the Wolves squad would make the Villa team, the Newcastle team, the Palace team etc etc etc- 2, 3 maybe 4 at the very most?
If you think Wolfe, Jackson and Arias are even in the same postal district as the guys they are replacing you have a lot more hope than I have.
They may after a few months grow into their roles but today they haven't a hope.
It is not their fault, no player arriving in the Prem should be expected to carry a team from day 1, but unlike in the past when players arrived they were cushioned by the good players around them now they have to cover the inadequacies of their colleagues.
Wolves are not trimming fat but cutting bone!

12.) 01 Sep 2025 13:22:41
Future, I think at this precise moment you're probably right there are few of our players that other Premier teams would be pursuing. However this is a team in transition and I'm convinced that the players are better than what we're currently witnessing. Last season VP saved us with minor tweaks to a relegation bound team devoid of confidence, and a couple of signings who performed instantly, Agba, Munetsi. We are now seeing VP stamping his tactical brand on the team and it's clearly going to take time for them to get it.

Some of our best players of last season are now our worst (Agba, Andre, J Gomes) and they clearly haven't suddenly lost ability, they've lost direction and focus and are struggling to adapt.

Theres a video on youtube where VP discusses tactical identity and changes he aims to implement, search 'Vitor Pereira breaks down his tactical identity', it shows the extent of the job.

Regarding signings I feel we probably have to accept that certain positions have been strengthened as much as they're going to be in this window.
I don't see a chance of a new CB as we have Agba, Krejci, Mosquera, Bueno, Toti, Doc (6 for 3 positions).

Little chance of a wingback with Jackson, Wolfe, Gomes, Bueno, Hoever available (5 for 2 positions).

Possible need for 1 CM, Gomes, Andre, Munetsi, Bellegarde available (4 for 2 spots but Munetsi/Bellegarde often used in other positions )
No chance of a CF IF JSL stays and Tolu signs (2 for 1 spot).

And finally the elephant in the room.
A desperate need for a signing in the number 10 role, currently Arias, Lopes, Hwang (3 players for 2 position and 1 hasn't yet adapted, 1 isn't quite ready and 1 isn't good enough)!

That's my take anyway!

13.) 01 Sep 2025 13:25:49
TFIOG, Uche did want to sign for Wolves. He agreed the salary, bonuses and length. It was his agent who scuppered the deal as he had to take a lower fee.

14.) 01 Sep 2025 13:27:03
To be fair, neither AIT or Cunha have set the world alight at their new clubs.

15.) 01 Sep 2025 13:35:09
Nuno days players and a few just after Nuno would piss over this team.
Look at the players that we have had and now look. There are only probably 5 players of the current team who I would add to that list of good players. Andre, Gomes, R.Gomes, Larson, Yerson

Neves
Moutinho
Coady
Raul
Jota
Neto
Adama
Boly
Saiss
Rui
Vinagre
Vitinha
Jonny Otto
Podence
Nunes
Rayan
Cunha
Samedo

16.) 01 Sep 2025 14:00:28
Alex Bryant that's hardly fair is it, you're comparing todays starting 11 to a list of 18 players spanning a decade 2015-2025! And frankly some of the players you've listed had very limited success when with us.

17.) 01 Sep 2025 15:04:08
16 of those players were with us during the Nuno era. I am just stating that we have gotten weaker every season since. We have had a few good players here and there but the owners direction has completely changed.

18.) 01 Sep 2025 15:04:31
Molineuxway a good post and v fair assessment!

My ideas for the first 11 and what is needed to make it adequate:

GK: Sa is an adequate lower mid table GK

WBs : The 2 new WBs Jackson and either Wolfe or Bueno both need to find their feet v rapidly and turn about to be good enough - big ask and not a given by any means

CBs : Yerson stays fit and is as good as he was for a few weeks before his injury, Emanuel rediscovers his form from last season, the new guy is worth the fee paid - all somewhat optimistic?

Midfield the strongest part of the team picks itself

Upfront - options: JSL, Arias and another 10 to be signed or Lopez OR JSL, Tolu and Arias.

Beyond that though there is v v little.
At GK there is no back up worth the name.
At WB R Gomes is one of the major hopes either at WB or elsewhere in the side.
At CB Doc and Bueno are surely only a last resort for a few games a season - neither good enough. Toti could play if others can help him- an adequate player but v v v limited.
In mid no back up worth the name - Bellegarde has talent but seems some way off ready.
Up front Not just no back up but looks short for the first 11.

Far too many of the players currently included in the have no right to be in the Prem this season!

Alex you don't need to pick the best players over the last 7 seasons to find a team that would beat the current side

Sadly this side is probably the weakest team Wolves have put out since being promoted. What an indictment given the money that has flowed through the club over the past 7 years and what a failure to now be as weak as a newly promoted club!

19.) 01 Sep 2025 17:45:19
I disagree, other than the two defensive mf positions I think we do have decent options elsewhere and even defensive mf has Bellegarde who if played regularly to gain confidence and the new guy Kreijc can cover. Elsewhere I think Moller Wolfe and Tchatchaoua are good but need time to settle, Agbadou needs to get his confidence back as does Toti but competition from Yerson, Kreijc and S Bueno will help with that. Doc needs to play next few games for his experience and to help others settle in. Tolu, Arias and JSL up top with Fer Lopes as an option is actually strong and Hwang, Sasa and the young lad Mane are all options. Wing back we still have Lima as well who I really rate but he maybe going out on loan.

20.) 01 Sep 2025 18:55:55
Wolflea.

I think you have largely listed the first 11 - where are your options?

lets look at the players you name
Bellegarde has shown flashes but is a long way from an established prem player so a poor option at best
Krejci is going to be first choice LCB so will struggle to play DM as well but is not an option/back up
The two new WBs are new but are first choices so not back ups/options?
Emanuel (Worryingly I agree he does have serious issues at the moment), is first choice at CB and thus is not a back up/option.
Toti is a back up/option but without help from stronger players is very limited and is a weak at best option
Yerson and Krejci again are both first 11 so not back ups/options
Bueno (due to ability) and Doc (due to age and fitness ) are in my view not Prem league quality players so should not be options.
Tolu, Lopez and Arias are also new and 2 of the 3, (although unclear which 2), are first 11 - so one can be an option but obviously all 3 as I say once again are brand new.
Consequently whilst you may be right and they will be strong at the moment they are all a massive risk and probably would be regarded as a v weak front line in Prem terms by most independent observers.
Hwang (ability), Sasa (fitness ) and Mane (age and experience) are not viable options in the Prem,
although Mane may become one at some stage in the future. JSL is first choice CF so not an option.
So the conclusion I drew from what you wrote was that Wolves have a first 11 with lots of problems and v v few options?
maybe that has changed in the last 15 mins but I doubt it?

Tolu Arokodare Is ✔️ don't stress just awaiting an announcement expected within next 24 hours wolves bid for Hayden Hackney has had no response from Middlesbrough who have no intention of selling still looking for cm, st and cam before close Brownhill is an option but Wolves in no rush viewed a last option if fail to bring targets in however player has multiple options including 100k a week from al Shabab in Saudi

exwolves

1.) 31 Aug 2025 17:53:46
Wolves should be in a rush ? window closes in just over 24 hours and current squad has us down.

2.) 31 Aug 2025 18:48:47
Both me and you told everyone this a few days ago mate yet some still panic.

3.) 31 Aug 2025 19:11:21
I think people panicking is a fair reaction. I mean they want 3 more on top of tolu before tomorrow? We struggle to get signings across the line in the best of the times so its incredibly difficult to believe a narrative where we're getting 3 more in the next 24 hours when bids we're putting in aren't even being answered

29 Aug 2025 11:52:28
Tolu Arokodare currently taking his medical if all goes well deal will be closed €24m fee 5year deal I'm told

2.) 29 Aug 2025 12:57:02

3.) 29 Aug 2025 13:16:29
Really hope that Tolu Arokodare transfer turns out positive and doesn’t turn into a “Uche saga”. The vibes do sound more positive though?

29 Aug 2025 11:47:32
Wolves are in talk with Middlesbrough for Hayden hackney proposal of £20m with +10m in fairly achievable add ons being discussed difficult deal as Middlesbrough have no intention of selling viewed too crucial for there push on promotion but again money talks one to watch over next few days

1.) 29 Aug 2025 12:40:32
Where have you heard that?

2.) 29 Aug 2025 12:57:34

3.) 29 Aug 2025 13:12:45

1.) 26 Jul 2025 08:35:15
We should poach it

2.) 26 Jul 2025 09:58:12
That only happens to Wolves, we only ones daft enough to allow it to happen. Forgive me for the pessimism this morning, get cheesed off with all the non action, have you seen the report on what clubs have spent so far, Liverpool at the top on something like £300m. Think we are near the bottom obviously, not sure how we can climb the table with the squad we have at the moment, another season fighting relegation I fear.

3.) 26 Jul 2025 10:56:51
As of 1050am today, we have spent €67m.

This is more than:

Fulham 0
Palace €2.3m
Villa €7m
Forest 31m
Bournemouth €42.4m
Everton €50m
Brentford €60m
Newcastle €61.4m
West Ham €62

How much we spent between now and the end of the window is anyones guess and who we buy is unknown but surely something has to happen soon.

4.) 26 Jul 2025 11:34:19
Spent more than I thought Wandering. Keep forgetting as well Larsen is in this summers spending even though he been here for a while.
Realistically, what are people’s expectations on transfers in and out? How many, and who moving out and who we could sign, see if I can feel more optimistic ??

5.) 26 Jul 2025 14:01:32
Thing is Banksy every player we've been linked with on the clink bait reports have gone else where, which makes me wonder how serious we are in recruitment, so either we've got some surprises to arrive, or we're going to try and make do. The pubill incident sums it up really.
I just hope we've no more outgoungs bar the obvious and even then it'll leave us light.

6.) 26 Jul 2025 14:40:04
I thought and hoped this summer would have been different Abbeywolf, unfortunately it is looking very similar to previous seasons. All of the players we were initially linked to have, I think moved on.
Unless the likes of Sasa, Guedes, Hwang are staying and can contribute and play a part we look very light to me. Who is left as back up in midfield, as you say, we have to hope things are being worked on we are not aware of ??. Perhaps they are trying to sell before buying, at the moment it is not looking good.

7.) 26 Jul 2025 14:50:42
I agree all. Trouble is we are not currently in a position to attract great players. We need to at least finish mid table for rolling seasons for a cheeky promise that we could play in Europe soon.
I hadn’t realized we were in front of other clubs Wandering - nice update thanks.
In my eyes we need enough good players to cover injuries/challenge for each position and that includes goal keeper, which very few mention!

8.) 26 Jul 2025 14:54:29
Abbey. We can't compete with what we've got so far. Not if we get a series of injuries anyway. We need a RB/RWB maybe LB/LWB someone to replace Cuhna and hopefully another striker. Just hope we can offload some of the deadwood like Fabio to help with new acquisitions and hope Shi keeps his word!

9.) 26 Jul 2025 15:17:39
Completely off topic.
Does anyposter on here know about the whereabouts or wellbeing of one of our previous posters JAS M.
I always found his posts very interesting and informative

10.) 26 Jul 2025 16:01:47
More meaningless statistics Wandering! Is it relevant what other clubs have spent? What matters is what additions Wolves bring in before the deadline as our future Prem status may depend on it!

11.) 26 Jul 2025 16:43:41
47Vintage. I was pointing out to a poster who thought the club hadn't spent any money that they actually had. I wasn't posting a stat, I was posting a fact. Let's not over analyse everything.

12.) 26 Jul 2025 18:58:52
Nick 1960, Jas M decided to have a rest from the rumours page quite a while ago. He had his personal reasons along side some unfair remarks on the site I believe, but like you his common sense and enlightening post are missed by me too.

13.) 26 Jul 2025 20:03:49
Abbeywolf, you should do an analysis and see if we lose more transfer battles than other teams or if most teams only sign a small fraction of their targets.

14.) 26 Jul 2025 20:49:32
Jas M as well as Phil789 are missed. Hope they are OK.

15.) 26 Jul 2025 21:23:04

I would like to reach out to JAS M
Please let us know how you are and let's have you back on board posting about our beloved club

Mark Pubill deal done will be announced sometime in the next few days

exwolves

1.) 22 Jul 2025 09:32:24
I have a bad feeling about this deal. Two words - Commitment and medical.

2.) 22 Jul 2025 10:01:31
Saw that exwolves, I hope its not a last minute 'missed out to AC who came back with improved offer' situ, but Arias and Pubill this week would be a start. Personally I'd like to hear something positive regarding Sa staying, if he were to go where would we get a decent keeper on our seemingly low budget?. I don't think Johnstone and Bently are really that reliable to be No.1.

3.) 22 Jul 2025 11:13:38
Patrick Cutrone, similarities! But without knowing details it's difficult to comment.

4.) 22 Jul 2025 11:34:27
Doing business and still not happy ?

5.) 22 Jul 2025 12:58:30
Lostcitywolves Pubill passed his medical at AC Milan with flying colours. AC Milan pulled the plug because they said he wasn't technical enough. To me strange if you have watched the player and then chase to sign him then say its because he's not technical enough.

6.) 22 Jul 2025 14:44:54
Shada I read that but I interpreted the 'technical comments' meaning that they realised they already had players with similar skills at the club so they weren't really gaining anything.

Either way, as you say it's still odd chasing him, getting him in for a medical, which he passed, then deciding that you didn't want/need him. Let's see if he passes a Wolves medical, I think they're tougher.

7.) 22 Jul 2025 15:58:21
I'm with you on this one LostCity. They're my worries too - not just the medical itself even but that injury. Time will tell as always

8.) 22 Jul 2025 16:06:06
Or maybe there was a slight issue with the medical but they didn't want to say it was the official reason.
