Noticed shabini or jordao not included in squad any news of them?

Tibbsywolf

1.) 17 Jul 2021 15:41:32
No Podence either.

2.) 17 Jul 2021 16:59:34
Podence injured due back early August, weren't the other two away with their countries U21 teams so doubt they are back yet.

3.) 17 Jul 2021 17:03:01
Both Jordao and Shabani are still on loan and will be having their preseason with their respective clubs. Many of the squad are still on their break from either the Euros or on their holidays. All of them should be present for the Spanish preseason games; including the new CB and GK.

4.) 17 Jul 2021 17:38:52
Both loans expired on 30th June 2021 so there either on an extended holiday or not under consideration by Lage.

5.) 17 Jul 2021 19:00:31
I’m going with you jas the loans have passed might be that lage doesn’t want them or they might be resting.

Campana on loan to grasshoppers.

Patrício gone 6 mill plus bonuses.

Tibbsywolf

1.) 24 Jun 2021 21:23:42
6 million is a little low but rui has been a good servant I wish him good luck I'm a little disappointed I thought with Bruno at the helm he might at least see what happens with us before just saying he wants to leave and play in Italy interesting to see who we end up with ( SA JOHNSTON OR WARD ) but they will all demand around 10_15 million it also seems moutinho is set to leave again been absolutely good for us but last season I think at times he looked like a 38 year old player so France I think he will get 2_3 good years there but I'm more than happy with our midfield we have very good players in that department and attacking football is what a few players are crying out for I'm very confident that fosun have all this in hand and maybe a few more might go but there will be more through that door.

2.) 25 Jun 2021 14:56:54
6m is a good fee for a goal keeper we got for half price after the sporting fans attacked him. That's a cost of £11m over 3 seasons for Wolves. As we brought him for £17m.

Put into the mix he wants to leave and play under Mourinho its perfect sense.

All these rumours are pure speculation and playing on British jingoism with Johnston and Ward links. Wolves will do a deal for Jose Sa. He has been seen as the replacement for Rui for a good two years.

I would tread carefully when reading links to Billy Gilmour and other British players. These are usually represented by British agents trying to drive the value of the player up or creating more of a buzz for a player.

Moutinho isn't going to France either. He is linked with going back to Porto.

3.) 25 Jun 2021 15:53:16
Indeed Madman it would be a profit! Bought on 4 year contract for circa £17m means he amorties at £4.25m pa so is now in books at £4.25m meaning we would make a £1.75m profit, .
Add in savings in wages and its not bad business but it may be better than that as i'm not certain he has actually gone and we may be trying to squeeze a bit more out of the deal?
Suspect Moutninho will indeed go to Portugal, (he deserves the move! ), but as we bought hi for peanuts 3 years ago he will be in books, assuming he wa on a 4 year deal?, for £1.25m so a modest fee could indeed mean we make a profit on him as well - with again big savings in wages.
Key though is who comes in and on what terms - fees and wages!

4.) 26 Jun 2021 11:34:35
Time will tell were he goes but considering people thought nuno wanted to go home and manage there should tell you all is not all black and white and were people end up is anyone's guess but I put mouthino to France after reading articles that ain't from Portugal because you read there rubbish then there would not be any Portuguese players at wolves next year plenty of sites to check information first and if you read 2 articles 1 from France and one from Italy saying something that is almost the same then usually you can believe some truth in the story.

5.) 26 Jun 2021 19:18:55
Each to their own I like reading the rumours and to me that's all they are.
The reason I found this site is when fosun took over and I wanted to see who wolves (we) may sign.
All the players linked to us whether or not they are codswallop is far far better than the players linked to us pre fosun.
Last year was terrible for us along with the rest of the nation and the world but we remain premier league and linked with all and sundry which is better than the the last 30 odd years of false hope.
Everyone has their thoughts and mine are I believe in fosun that they aren't giving us false hope but hope of good things to come.

Tony Roberts going to be our new goalie coach with wales at mo in euros.

Tibbsywolf

1.) 23 Jun 2021 17:29:54
Was good pro keeper I recall - many years at QPR.
Good addition.

19 May 2021 12:51:14
Raul has his results yesterday or plan to go forward, little bit surprised there has been no news of this, anyone thinking he may be on bench as wolves way is not to let anything slip.

Tibbsywolf

1.) 19 May 2021 13:31:18
Either that or a shock inclusion in the starting 11 and penned to play the first 45 minutes to be replaced by Silva at half-time. I share your thoughts Tibbs.

2.) 19 May 2021 14:19:48
I thought Nuno said he wouldn't be on the bench either today or on Sunday.

3.) 19 May 2021 15:33:32
I know just seems strange no news on him as of yet.

4.) 19 May 2021 17:37:24
There are a couple of ways of looking at this:

1. Raul won't be rushed back this season (what's the point? )
2. Raul may have to wait longer than liked to return.

A telling factor may be his inclusion in the Mexican National team.

5.) 19 May 2021 21:08:16
Raul given the all clear to resume full contact training. He will wear protective head gear for the rest of his career but he will definitely be fit for next season.

6.) 20 May 2021 08:22:05
club doctor's statement
.

7.) 20 May 2021 16:28:15
Nuno has made contradictory remarks about Raul's return. That hasn't helped. There is simply no point in risking Raul's health in a premature return; in fact it would be almost criminal. When he does come back he will be wearing a head brace, but psychologically he may never be able to fully commit to headers again. Would not surprise me if we get a mega payout from our insurers for this.

Does anyone think this talk of arsenal and now spurs with neves has any legs?

Tibbsywolf

1.) 14 Jul 2021 09:28:44
Well lots of noise but of course I have no idea if it means anything. All you can hope is that if he does go we:
one get a good fee - £40m+ would be good and
two: we have a quality (at least as good if not better) replacement in place immediately for no more money - otherwise what is the point!
To be fair to Jeff this is exactly what we appear to have done with Rui so fingers crossed.
Perfect scenario is that we keep Neves but let Moutinho go - he deserves a fair deal - and buy a quality replacement for him ( if you could get Moutinho but 6 years younger then we are really cooking! ) .

2.) 14 Jul 2021 10:19:18
Agree sanchez or paulinho would be a good shout.

3.) 14 Jul 2021 10:33:11
Declan rice, and kalvin Philips,
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮.

4.) 14 Jul 2021 10:45:00
Looks like sanchez has moved out of our reach but Palhina maybe an answer - although his rumoured fee keeps on edging upwards somewhat faster than his performances seem to justify (? ) . Is that just paper talk though?
If we really are looking at the £30m space - (i doubt we are) - maybe MU have some bodies they need to shift with Sancho coming in? Perhaps Lingaard might be an option. If he doesn't want to uproot his life and permanently go to London he could play at Wolves and still live in the NW?
He certainly brings legs, creativity and goals to our midfield which sadly last year was bereft of all 3.

5.) 14 Jul 2021 11:56:32
If Neves wants to go, then I see no point in keeping him as long as the revenue from his sale is enough to fund good replacments, Palhina, Sanchez or even Thomas Lemar for me, then let's get it done and move forward.

6.) 14 Jul 2021 13:28:58
Palinho is a no go his team has said his buyout clause is 53 million euros and that is what the price is no deals if teams want to take him then that's the price so I highly doubt we will be buying at those prices.

7.) 14 Jul 2021 14:00:41
Chelsea are apparently letting three players go, including Tammy Abraham, to finance a new purchase. Abraham wanted to come to us once and he also was on loan at Villa. So, geographically, no problem. He could be a good option and a useful insurance in case Jimenez struggles.

8.) 14 Jul 2021 15:32:16
Good luck to Patricio he is quality last season he had a dip in form but who didn’t. Looks like we’ve got a good replacement, he made many great saves one stands out for me against Man City in our first season back when he tipped a Sterling shot onto the bar in the 1-1 draw. Looking forward to the start of the season like we all are and very optimistic.

9.) 14 Jul 2021 18:51:54
Re neves a lot of paper talk but when there's a lot it normally means it'll happen. Dunno where he'll go but it must be for big bucks and a quick replacement sanchez for me in dream.

07 Jul 2021 08:30:37
Hi, does anyone no about the whereabouts of shabini or jordao are they aback training with us?

Tibbsywolf

1.) 07 Jul 2021 12:33:43
3-0 for us tonight
Hope coady gets a run out in latter stages of match, deserves it,
Can we go thru tournament without conceding a goal?
Has it been done before?

2.) 07 Jul 2021 14:16:07
Got to disagree to the score greylag. I think Denmark will score and the result being 3-1/ 3-2 to England. I can't imagine anyone winning without conceding but I havnt checked. Roll on tonight and hopefully roll on Sunday. Come on England.

3.) 07 Jul 2021 14:23:55
Have a great evening greyleg I'm pleased for you as you had confidence in England at the outset of the tournament.
Fairplay me mon. 😀
I don't think anyone has gone 5 undefeated at the euros, Italy the only other team to do it but Italy did it in the world cup.
I'm sure I remember correctly going on gary Lineker said at the end of England's last match.
Sure someone will confirm or not confirm.
Come on England.
I going another 4 nil this time Kane hat trick.
Come on England 🤞👌👍👏👏👏.

4.) 07 Jul 2021 15:38:01
Greyleg. Whilst it would be great to see Conor get a run out, superstitious me wants him to stay on the bench. Remember Ron Flowers didn't get on the pitch in 66 and we won it! Sets up the rule, have a Wolves player in the squad, don't play him you win! Easy!
Maybe in the final 3-0 up give a run at the end. From what I read he's doing a superb job in the dressing room as you would expect him to!

5.) 07 Jul 2021 16:35:42
My superstitious song in connection to Harry kane on drive home was,
Shame 69 Hurry up Harry lol
Come on
Come on
Hurry up Harry Come on
We're going down the pub,
Come on.
Come on.

6.) 07 Jul 2021 16:55:23
Sham 69.

7.) 07 Jul 2021 19:31:07
Jordao and Shabani could be forced to self isolate for x number of days dependent on country they have returned from. All non UK players shown on day one testing were recovering from injuries and have probably been back in Compton ahead of the official start of training.

8.) 07 Jul 2021 19:31:22
Cheers for your comments guys,
Enjoy your evening,
Records are there to broken?
I've got a feeling this squad can break them,
Their strength is in the pack
All for one,
One for all
The roar of the lions triumph
Will be heard across the land
Coye.

9.) 07 Jul 2021 20:47:27
Keep the faith my loyal friends 👍👍.

10.) 08 Jul 2021 09:59:38
Great, great win for us over plucky Denmark. We were fortunate with the penalty, a soft or invalid one, converted at the second attempt. The incident in the second half looked more of a penalty. But even the opening goal drew my attention to Sterling's tactics. Obviously a clear Denmark own goal, but as Sterling went down he threw his arms UP in the air. This wasn't a natural movement, an instinctive reaction would be to put your arms forward and down to break your fall. To me it looked an attempt at simulation to get a penalty. But, that's Sterling. He's a vital cog in the team all the same.

16 Jun 2021 09:18:56
Leicester away again first game, tough start.

Tibbsywolf

1.) 16 Jun 2021 10:28:33
Can’t see any easy ones, but we don’t know what we’ll be playing them with yet, we know more about the other nineteen Clubs than we do about our own.

2.) 16 Jun 2021 11:01:28
Liverpool last game of the season would be great if there was something riding on it for both clubs eh Ed001.
And I'm not thinking wolves will be in relegation battle riding on the last game, just pointed that out incase any disheartened wolves fan thinks we will he in relegation dogfight.
COYW

Ps looking fwd to watching the Wales game later.

{Ed001's Note - personally I would rather we already had the title wrapped up by then!}

3.) 16 Jun 2021 11:07:57
Tough first three fixtures. Leicester, Spurs and Man U. Where's demon? We need his input. He must be expecting a double regelation by Christmas at this rate!

4.) 16 Jun 2021 11:16:07
Ha ha ha quality Deep Throat🤣.

5.) 16 Jun 2021 13:02:57
I'll tell you what, I'll be the doom merchant of sorts, I can see us losing first 3 while bruno sorts things, the relegation bruno must go etc merchant's will then come out. By the Liverpool game we'll be looking to get a 7th 8th spot. Of course that's my gut feeling, I have no knowledge of who we'll be left with or who we'll gain. I'm just being honest and not expecting miracles. I've got every faith in bruno and every hope for the season. COYW COB.

6.) 16 Jun 2021 13:37:19
And I've just renewed my membership aiming to get to as many games as possible this season. My bruno lage gold and black Union Jack ready and waiting.

Brilliant, see you in August, Raul! FWAW.

19 May 2021 07:40:36
Does anyone think rui will be off in summer only one year remaining on contract, I hope not I know his kicking isn't great but I like him as a keeper.

Tibbsywolf

1.) 19 May 2021 10:06:53
I'm 50/ 50 tibbsy,
But I think if Rui leaves it will be by his choose not the clubs choose.

2.) 19 May 2021 10:38:00
Sorry spelling choice not choose.

3.) 19 May 2021 11:24:52
Morning guys, I concur, his kicking is atrocious at times, but he's a good shot stopper, if he goes who would you replace him with,
Johnstone? Kepa.?

4.) 19 May 2021 11:41:11
Goalkeepers is the one position where we have always excelled. Mike Stowell, Matt Murray, Paul Jones, Wayne Hennessey and Patricio have been tge regulars since I started going to Molineux. Sondergaad is meant to be very good but if Rui does leave, we've been linked to Sam Johnstone and Alphonse Areola. Plus Nuno being an ex keeper will know who to bring in.

5.) 19 May 2021 11:45:47
For one I would wish him bon voyage, gets beaten at his near post too often and never comes for a cross.

6.) 19 May 2021 11:51:18
Watching the fa cup final I was so thrilled for Leicester and felt a huge sense of pride seeing Mike Stowell celebrating with Leicester.
Any ex wolves stalwart brings our name to show.

7.) 19 May 2021 12:46:19
In the perfect world yes - one he deserves a free to go to where he wants to end his career but two he is no longer a top half keeper (still a v good one but not top half) and we want to be top half.

However it isn't a perfect world and unless someone is going to pay a reasonable fee so that we can swap in Johnstone or his like (Leeds got Meslier for sub £6m apparently? ) then we can't afford to replace him as surely all of our budget is needed for more pressing requirements elsewhere.
He is perfectly competent and having him in goal for another year whilst not ideal is not the worst outcome.

8.) 19 May 2021 15:25:30
I get that Rui hasn't had the best season but I think people are forgetting the woeful defensive performances the team have been putting on in front of him?! I really don't think he's any worse than most in this league and a darn site better than some. I find it especially odd that peeps are desperate to get rid of him for Sam Johnstone.

I rate Johnstone enough but it's taken him till 28 to get to the Prem and in his first season there he's had 6 clean sheet compared to Ruis 10?! So he's spent most of his career playing at a FAR lower level than Rui and has had (I think) 1 international cap whereas a Rui is Portugals most capped goal keeper of all time?!

Sorry guys but for me this one is simply a case of us watching Rui all season so noticing his mistakes, how many of us have carefully watched Johnstones mistakes all season?! Now if Martinez had been going for £10m this window I'd get it but I really don't see the point in swapping keepers unless it's a clear upgrade. With that being the case I also think it's unlikely we will find said obvious upgrade within our budget?! 🤔.

9.) 19 May 2021 16:32:24
BB although my emphasis is probably different my thread and conclusion is similar. However remember Rui is 34 next year and is in the last year of his contract and is on £100k pw.
He won't get better but will be as you say a solid Prem player next year and we almost certainly can't upgrade easily within the limitations of our budget.
Re Johnstone though he is 28 and has played behind surely a worse defence and although I accept I haven't seen as much of him as I have of Rui he does seem to have played pretty well on the occassion I have watched him
If he is that cheap, allegedly £10m, and is on modest wages maybe even if he won't be an upgrade next year the swap may be worth looking at as over the medium term he will obviously be an upgrade as Rui will be gone - maybe even next summer?
