Not a regular poster, but I’ve really fallen out of love with football this because of Wolves. I really, really hope something changes, and quick. It’s mental how losing two players (Cunha and RAN) who were regular starters have completely ruined us thus far. I’m also frustrated that Arias, who was meant to be Cunha’s successor is a bench player currently, as well as Agbadou losing all the ability that he showed last season. There is no leadership in the team, of which players like Coady and even Dawson offered. I feel like we have no prem pedigree, in the sense that we have little prem experience. We were never going to get players who were the quality that just adapt, however, had we been savvy with players like Michael Keane from Everton, would maybe have made the difference? I can’t be certain that he would change it, but hope that others may feel that we could have been a bit more 442 in our transfer strategy, for which may have aided some of the players who haven’t played in the prem. Let’s hope things change. Up the wolves

I think your right Rhuuud, the E and S summed it up perfectly at the end of the window. In the transfer window we lost 15 years worth of Prem experience and replaced them with a group of players that had not a single minute of Prem experience between um! Sadly I just don't think we are going to get away with doing that! ?

Messi has no Premier League experience.

3.) 21 Sep 2025 07:59:43
In a roundabout way you are right, Handsome. It's all about whether players are actually good enough and the majority of the recruits over the last couple of years simply aren't never mind poor 'old stagers' like Sa and Toti. Couple these facts with poor tactics/team selection and you have the perfect recipe for disaster aka relegation.

4.) 21 Sep 2025 08:51:58
True, but as stated in my post, my opinion is that he would fall into the category of player with such quality, that would adapt to the prem; however, players like that either cost a lot of money, or teams get lucky unearthing a gem- something it appears we lack currently.

No way Messi can be compared with our lot. They are on a different planet to him!

Haven’t got the energy to watch the game, but BBC and Sky comms are not great reading. It’s exhausting being a fan these days, 4 unbeaten to this.let’s hope the lads pull their fingers out and try and claw something from this game!

That 2nd goal was all Tommy Doyle. How do you solve a problem like Jose Sa?! Unbelievable last week, to liability this week. A spirited performance though, and nice to get at least a point! Had many opportunities to get ahead, but with a string of ‘easier’ fixtures ahead, I truly hope we start to accumulate some points. Out of the darkness, cometh light. FWAW

Let's hope this kick starts our season ?

2.) 27 Oct 2024 08:39:27
Sorry Rhuuuuuud but Sa a liability? His poor clearance led to their first goal. Unfortunately these things happen like Doyle blasting a great opportunity over the bar after 10 minutes. How many other players misplaced passes or cocked up yesterday? Thought Sa had a good game apart from that one slip up after a great game last week.

3.) 27 Oct 2024 09:03:03
47Vintage, maybe a little harsh, but as a result of that clearance, we conceded. I suppose what I should have said is that for all the good he does, he always seems to have a clanger not far behind. Fully take on board your other comments, hence noting we had several chances to get ahead. However, I would say that was a good point earned, although I must admit I never thought it was coming when we went 2 down! Happy Sunday - Onwards and upwards.

I thought/think Sa is our best keeper Rhuuud, yes poor kick out but would Johnstone have been out to head the ball clear as a last man? Sa has always been his own man in the box and as much as a liability he's saved our games on many occasion,
i don't personally rate Johnstone as highly as a shot stopper. (Incidently I think he had a slight slip on that kick).

Thanks for your reply Rhuuuuuud and I fully accept your comments. I know it was just a draw but it feels like a win. Onwards and upwards mate.

6.) 27 Oct 2024 17:52:25
Abbeywolf, fully respect that and don’t fall out with it at all. Sa is our best keeper and as many other posters have said on here, Johnstone seems a questionable buy at 10 million and by all accounts, not an upgrade on Sa. Sa is a brilliant shot stopper and has saved us many times- in my view, those moments feel overshadowed by his howlers however! I am hoping that by having Johnstone in the team, Sa realises he to be on his toes and knows he can’t keep making silly errors, or faces a stint on the bench.

Agree rhuuud, fair comment mate.

New poster, more encouraging performance, but how we haven’t come away with a point is beyond me. Nelson had a chance to make it 2-0 in the first half, however, the incompetence of the officials has cost us. Funny how we have a goal chalked off against West Ham last season for interference, yet, in my opinion, Bernardo’s incident is worse, but nothing. Appreciate Micah and Daniel Sturridge given their views, which were in our favour, yet does nothing about us being robbed. Rant over. Onwards and upwards and let’s hope we stick with the back 5.

Welcome rhuuud, it's a sickening decision from var and ref for us, as it always seems to be. You're right we should have taken a couple of chances but that's our fault. We've no favours from the powers that be and I feel it goes all the way back to Nunos complaint from years ago. They tried the heavy fine which didn't work and we've gone on to constantly bring the VAR problems to attention incurring more and more decisions against us. I think it's greyleg who says it below, they want us out of the prem. This year its looking like they'll get their wish.
We certainly looked safer at the back today, let's hope we'll build on that.

2.) 20 Oct 2024 18:16:45
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again var is a way for the premier league to legally fix the outcome of matches therefore setting the position of who plays in Europe etc $££££££££££££££££££ that’s all they’re interested in

Unbelievable dross from the media re: JSL. Even if a bid comes in, he would be going more than what Arsenal have got Gyokeres for, plus another 15/20!

Leadership qualities for sure! I’m pretty sure I remember an article after the World Cup and it was Southgate’s then assistant, Steve Holland stating that Coady was his player of the tournament for his off field presence - granted we need to get another defender over the line who will actually play in the XI, but in terms of team cohesion, this could be a good move. Daws is unfortunately past his best and as much as I would love to see a resurgence from him, I just can’t see it.
