We got told that after Arias and Pubill ( That didn't happen) we wanted a lwb, cm and striker. Now we are being linked with a has been free agent rb. Is history repeating itself?

Are we just scouting players for other teams? Adli and doak to b'mouth. Guess and to the vile. Lucumi to s'land. Are we going to sign any players anyone knows?

The bigger question for me Hendy, is that Adlie said he didn't want to come to wolves, why? Money not enough or the clubs reputation ambition wise?. I don't think he's been the only player to have said this either. Of course a lot of players will have been linked for clickbait purposes with wolves having shown no interest and we do move under the covers as it were, Wolfe for instance as example.
But your right, nobody knows who we'll end up with.
The izaak liverpool/newcastle/larsen may finally break us if a fee of £67+m comes in .

The bigger issue for me is that just because a few unreliable sources say the club are interested doesn't mean they are. Unless the club or the player themselves confirm it then I just wouldn't believe it.

3.) 20 Aug 2025 09:37:14
Since Fosun brought the club we've been linked with players we likely had no intention of signing. Rather than buy into every rumour it's best to wait until you see the player in the shirt as most signings come under the radar.

We also every year see promoted clubs sign players we supposedly wanted and then the whole "can't compete" with newly promoted clubs argument is made, and those clubs then finish lower than us with those signings not always turning out that well. The time may come we can't compete if income doesn't improve, but we might not even be in for those players to begin with.

We can say what positions we'd like signings in or who we'd like to sign, but no point believing every rumour is true, and best to just see how it plays out by end of August. We have no idea what the conversations are behind closed doors, it's all guessing.

What I would find helpful is when it's reported that a player 'turns us down' that we're then told why they turned us down.

It would certainly save a lot of speculation, was it the lack of European football, Fosun's reputation, fear of a relegation scrap, £'s, doesn't fancy the Prem, etc?

It's happening again now Aclewolf, we linked to Casada from Barcelona, a 26m fee as been agreed, WH are monitoring the situation, Barcelona have pulled out of the agreement and so on. Who really knows?

6.) 21 Aug 2025 00:55:47
Everyone who turns down an offer should be obligated to tell the fans of the club why.

Are we still after a rwb cm and striker? Just if that's what the boss has said and it doesn't happen. Fairplay if he stays. We seem to be scouting everyone, putting a bid in and being robbed eveytime

Not only that Hendy, if reports are true (doubt it) were persisting in chasing players who have said they don't want to come. We didn't see larsen coming, we didn't see Wolfe coming, maybe more arrivals but not those constantly mention in clickbaits.?

2.) 07 Aug 2025 11:02:01
I doubt the press rumours are the likely signings, they may be aspirational signings without being necessarily realistic signings.

3.) 07 Aug 2025 11:16:35
Is it me or has our transfer window descended into a now desperate race to find anyone who will come to Wolves. Discounting the obvious clickbait rumours we do seem to be 'talking' to an awful lot of people with seemingly little result.

Is it because we are trying to tempt the clubs of players we really want to sell as well as, of course, the player themselves and getting a lot of rejection? Or, are the financial constraints too tight, or has it just become a scatter gun approach because we are missing Matt Hobbs focus on achievable targets?

4.) 07 Aug 2025 11:51:20
I think the answer to your question Long is that as a club we are not an attractive proposition compared to the "big six" or a continental club. You have to ask yourself who would join a club with little or no chance of winning anything unless they used us as a jumping off point which we are all too familiar with.

5.) 07 Aug 2025 14:04:35
John Arias came Derry when it was rumoured CR7 tried to get him to go to Saudi on no doubt x5 the money Wolves are actually paying him

6.) 07 Aug 2025 14:18:16
Agree Longmynd and Derry any club can bid for players who don’t want to come, it’s all transfer bluster and stage managed by our owners who have no ambition whatsoever.Transfer targets are well aware of the facts hence no desire to play for us.

7.) 07 Aug 2025 14:43:25
Exactly Derry. I cannot understand the fans who do not realise this. OK, let's imagine an exciting young prospect from a middling top flight team in Europe. He's ambitious and not getting enough playing time. We stick a bid in, and that alerts the whole world. Then, a CL team from a glamorous capital city bids for him. What's going to happen? Get real, he doesn't go to Wolves. It's not always like that as we know, but bit by bit we can hope to upgrade the squad and therefore be more attractive as a destination even if it is sometimes just a stepping stone destination.

8.) 07 Aug 2025 15:26:15
Yet today I'm hearing 2 possible arrivals from Chelsea a striker, jackson and diais (?) Who was at villa last year. Loan deals for CL teams to give them ball time?
Sometimes the grass isn't always greener and I doubt the truth of the report to be honest but Chelsea have enough players on their books they want to off load the burden.

Fosun are businessmen not football.
The promises from day 1 about being in the champions league and winning a trophy within 10 years as well as doing the stadium up haven't been kept. So don't be surprised. Relegation is guaranteed
