Posters saying GON could or should be sacked but he has a new four year contract until 2028.
They can't afford to pay him off and even if they did who would come in and change things when some players are playing for a move and others are playing just for their wages and not for the shirt or the fans.
We are a club who are divided from the owners down to the chairman management coaches players and fans.
We need strong leaders in all areas which costs money that we don't have or are not prepared to spend.
1.) 19 Sep 2024 14:17:40
I cannot understand Wolves, why give GON a 4 year contract? Why are they selling the best players? This looks like another poor season. I have heard that GON is an excellent golfer he doesn’t have a handicap, it doesn’t do Wolves any good. We haven’t got a settled first team and I just can’t see Wolves getting any better with the players they have. I hope I am proved wrong.
2.) 19 Sep 2024 15:09:06
Not sure I agree (surprisingly), I was at the game last night and I saw that the majority of the team were playing for the shirt and the fans. Even though it was a cup game. I also saw the disappointment in their faces when they came and clapped the fans after the game, which is also not the actions of a team not playing for the fans or shirt. I’ve never been a fan or Sarabia and when I said last season about how he thinks he’s better than he is and throws his toys out the pram too much people disagreed. Doc played with some fight presumably after getting blamed for newcastle. And overall I thought we had an ok game with the exception of some sloppy defending, despite it being a second eleven. The new lads on the wings did well, I thought R Gomes final ball needs work and Lima needs to play like he did in the second half, Forbes looks and exciting prospect. I also still think gon needs to work on his tactics but we all knew he was going to be learning on the job. I’m still confident we will be fine but we definitely need a win sooner rather than later.
3.) 19 Sep 2024 15:09:39
Lessons not learned from the Nufc game.can't give the space we are giving around the box for the opposition to shoot.criminal but Sa should have done better!
4.) 19 Sep 2024 16:03:50
Melo7, what do you mean 'he is an excellent player and doesn't have a handicap?' You cannot be an excellent player without a handicap. Or do you mean he is a scratch player, which, by the way is a handicap? Most Pro players these days have a handicap of at least plus 4.
5.) 19 Sep 2024 16:19:26
He plays off scratch and I am sorry I am not a golfer but I was told that he carded a round of 4 under par. I just Wolves were playing on par with their football game.
6.) 19 Sep 2024 16:30:15
Goatmark I didn’t see Guedes kissing the badge when he scored and I believe he would be off like a shot if a suitable club came in for him.
Joao Gomes seems uncomfortable in the new system and other clubs are monitoring his situation which must have an effect on his outlook.
Sa Hwang Sarabia say no more and Semedo must be thinking about his future plans.
Doc and Dawson can’t go on forever.
Yes they are good at clapping the away fans after a loss and so they should be by now.
Looking forward to the thanks and appreciation shown to us at VP on Saturday if we haven’t departed early.
7.) 19 Sep 2024 17:37:39
E you said some players are playing for a move and some their wages. I was pointing out that imo most of them were playing for the team, Guedes gave it his all despite not necessarily wanting to be in the uk. I’ll agree with you about sa having his head turned and Sarabia being potentially unhappy as he isn’t in the first team. Hwang I believe just needs to hit form and he will be happy. As for Gomes I think he looks comfortable the goal against newcastle would imply he knows what he’s doing and I feel like he enjoys having some other Brazilians around him. Obviously at some point if the right offer came in for him I think he would leave. But only for a top club like Neto did. My point was we don't look like we lack fight and saying players want away or just want their wages imo is wrong. Also why would you leave early E? I thought fans were supposed to stay till the end and support their club or do you only support when we are winning?
8.) 19 Sep 2024 18:20:09
Whatever happened last night goatmark I don't think you can deny the difference in attitude between the two halves, something was said at half time to perk them up.
Guedes never 'over celebrates' his goals, he looked pleased enough when he did, and what was the 'T' symbol he made with his arms? After he did.
On tv there looked lacklustre in the first, the goals knocked them back tho, but they didn't seem to know where anyone was and didn't play as a unit. Sarabia wasn't seeing alit of the ball and I think maybe got a shouting at from GON after the booking. Hwang was just 'absent' from ball play and I thought Sa could have done better on both goals, closer in his dive and timings. I'm going to mention Alfie Pond again, I thought the lad looked very composed for his debut with Santi and is a promising CB.
I don't think it's total doom and gloom, we need that win to lift us, please may it come this weekend at the vile. COYW
9.) 19 Sep 2024 18:38:48
Totally agree Abbeywolf, the half time talk definitely helped as I said Lima as one looked more aggressive etc and the desire to fight was definitely there which is a plus. Didn’t see guedes T sign, was missing the replays watching it live. I also thought pond looked good, give it a few years and we will have CB’s coming out of our ears.
10.) 19 Sep 2024 18:52:04
Liked the pun, if intended, goatmark. If not my apologies to any CBs concerned.
11.) 19 Sep 2024 20:00:01
Wolves have players who will be great in the future.
What we need are players that are great now.
Jeff Shi needs to give control of the football side to someone with experience like Villa have done with Monchi.
12.) 19 Sep 2024 21:23:38
The club need to look at what the money is being spent on. I think Meupiyou, R Gomes, Lima and Forbs will be decent players in the future but what we need are players for the here and now. Surely Fosun can see that massive mistakes have been made. Sellars and Shi being allowed to run the football side of the club being the most obvious mistake.
Look at Villa. They hired Monchi due to his football knowledge and contacts and look what he has achieved. To me, Shi is a good accountant who has contacts in the business world but what we need is a football person who has contacts and can spot talent.
Again Hwang did nothing yesterday to suggest that he is an asset to the club. Yes he had a good season last time but he just isn't good enough. But will the club regard this as a waste of money? I would think not considering all the Korean based advertisements we currently have on display around Molineux and the club website.
I just hope that the results pick up very soon.
13.) 21 Sep 2024 05:54:26
Good point re Hwang wandering, is he purely played to bring in Korean money? because bar a couple of purple patches he's regularly disappointing. Even the wolves app opens with an ad for a Korean link.
Surely now with forbes arrival he can drop down?
11 Sep 2024 16:58:35
If Brighton beat Ipswich by two goals or more on Saturday and Everton and Southampton don't win their games we could climb out of the bottom three and this may encourage more none season ticket holders to take up the vacant seats in every area of the stadium still available for the game against Newcastle.
1.) 11 Sep 2024 19:03:21
Yes yes E from Wimborne and if TV coverage was cancelled some more fans might attend. But you seem to know these things, so can you tell us how many seats are untaken at the moment? What will the attendance be on Sunday? And, why do you keep going on and on about our attendance
Mind you come 8pm you'll be able to moan about our purple/pink 3rd away shirt and how nobody will buy them. Up the wolves pal.
2.) 11 Sep 2024 20:06:10
E, how many tickets are still left to be sold? I hope the stadium isn't half empty.
3.) 11 Sep 2024 21:28:14
The stadium is going to be like a morgue on Sunday. Only 31075 tickets sold so far. (Newcastle have sold all of their allocation). 984 tickets left as of 9pm.
Yet another example of E being a WUM.
4.) 12 Sep 2024 01:53:54
Are we sure E and Bux aren't the same person?
5.) 12 Sep 2024 09:08:37
They can’t be Rated. Have you seen Bux’s spelling ??
6.) 12 Sep 2024 09:21:23
Good info wandering star, I looked at the seating available plan last night and I guesstimated about a 1000 free.
Different topic, and as I'm not really impressed by SUDU's shirts so far, the vibrant violet 3rd strip is a step out of the 'ordinary'. Will we be known as the purple p****s?
It's not for me, but if others like it fair enough. I've collected just about every shirt we've had but bar the blue cloud effort, this has to be the worst. I'm old I know, move with the time etc. But it doesn't say Wolverhampton wanderers to me.
7.) 12 Sep 2024 16:48:04
Wot do u think bux stands for rated.wombourne?and htp domt kno wut u meen.u dink
8.) 13 Sep 2024 02:16:48
I'd say Buxton? At a guess.
9.) 13 Sep 2024 19:43:11
Were not all like that in Buxton Rated mate Lol

01 Sep 2024 21:00:33
How many points are we expecting from the next six games?
1.) 01 Sep 2024 23:00:04
8
Win v Newcastle
Draw v Villa
Win v Brentford
Draw v Brighton
Losses v Man City and Liverpool.
2.) 02 Sep 2024 06:12:59
6 maybe
3.) 02 Sep 2024 07:51:58
6 points I reckon
4.) 02 Sep 2024 08:17:02
8 would be an incredible outcome and would set us up for the season v nicely.
The fixtures obviously get easier and so we should pick up points at an even faster rate in the following months and we would be planning European travel next season.
However I would imagine that most independent observers would regard 8 as someewhat unrealistic.
Amazingly given current form, (although that is still 2 wins and a draw), and the home/away split Newcastle at home is probably the most favourable of the next 6 fixtures.
Consequently it is a must not lose game. However even though they aren't playing as well as many expected a point would still be a good outcome.
Other than that we have a v good record at Brentford and should be targeting a point there, although they are playing better than many expected.
Elsewhere it is likely that most people would expect to get not very much at all.
This is a very tough run and frankly 3 or 4 would probably be a satisfactory, (although sadly possibly an optimistic) outcome.
5.) 02 Sep 2024 09:14:00
I really cannot believe how negative you all are. We held our own against Arsenal away. Chelsea 1st half We were good. We went toe to toe with Forest. It seems most of you have no faith in thus squad.
Guys, we had 1 bad 45 minute spell.
6.) 02 Sep 2024 09:49:03
Anything above 4 would be a satisfactory return.
7.) 02 Sep 2024 11:10:51
I would go 4. It's a very tough run.
8.) 02 Sep 2024 11:39:31
In our last 11 prem games against teams still in the league, i.e. exclude Luton and Burnley, we have picked up 2 points, both from Forest, out of 33.
Also the next 6 includes 5 games against teams likely to finish in the top 8 and only Brentford away against a team from the mid table region.
So its been a little more than 45 mins of underperformance and it is a very tough run
9.) 02 Sep 2024 14:03:18
But most of them games were when we had Dawson, Hwang, Neto, Bellegarde and Cunha out injured.
Yes we've lost Kilman and Neto but Andre, Mosquera, Cunha, Gomes, Hwang, Guedes make our squad stronger.
Have some faith.
10.) 02 Sep 2024 14:12:56
4 if we are lucky. O'Neil's style is open to question
11.) 02 Sep 2024 16:56:59
Hwang and Dawson spent half of the season injured last year. And last time I checked that isn't a problem that gets better with age! In fact over the whole season Dawson played in just 25 league games! So assuming (optimistically) that he manages 24 games this season, then to play your 8 games in a row he'd have to start a third of his seasons games without an injury in the next few weeks?! Sorry Wandering but this isn't about faith it's a combo of common sense and previous stats. Otherwise why didn't you predict that we'd win 18 out of 18 points?! Surely we can beat Man City and Liverpool if you just have a little more faith?! ?
12.) 02 Sep 2024 18:57:55
12 points, I think it’s going to be Brighton and Liverpool that do us.
13.) 02 Sep 2024 19:17:24
Wandering - you won't like the "Forum" then. They discuss the same issue and are far more conservative with a "0" or two popping up!
BB - I am assuming Dawson is fit and Andre is as good as we hope he is otherwise it gets very messy.
Fortunately there are a number of sides who look like they are going to be pretty poor this year so at the moment I'm still reasonably relaxed. However to have allowed the window to close not just not having strengthened the defence but actually markedly weakened it was sheer madness!
14.) 02 Sep 2024 20:15:53
So what your saying is that Dawson will definitely get injured due to his age therefore we have to pro rata his game time? Your maths doesn't make sense as you say. He missed half the season but played 25 league games.
Just because he was injured last season, doesn't mean he will be this season.
15.) 02 Sep 2024 22:53:13
No what I'm saying is that he struggled to put 8 league games in a row together last season and by the laws of nature he's one year older this year at the grand old age of 34! Also I said half the games cause we have these extra games over here called 'Cup matches' of which he started VERY few last season no doubt to try and protect him due to his age!
And your right just because he was injured last season doesn't mean he will this season, equally though he could get a long term injury (which thankfully didn't happen last season) at which point how's your bizarre notion that we are looking stronger going?! ?
Faith is great but it shouldn't be a substitute for a solid recruitment policy, let's hope the club don't find that out the hard way in the next four months eh! ?
16.) 03 Sep 2024 06:02:28
Well, despite your clear lack of faith in the squad, I still think we'll get 8 points from our next 6 league games.
17.) 03 Sep 2024 08:06:09
I sincerely hope you are right!
If however you ask independent observers, such as the bookies, I wonder what the odds are on each game individually. I would not be surprised to find that we are the underdog in all 8 games and in some, if not most, by a considerable distance.
18.) 03 Sep 2024 09:46:29
Just as we were last season against Spurs (twice), Chelsea (twice) and Man City.
I'm sure the bookies also had us as the 2nd favourites to be relegated last season and amongst the favourites this season.
They often get things wrong. I mean they've had England as favourites to win every tournament since 2010.
19.) 04 Sep 2024 09:26:18
QS - how do you know O'Neil style is questionable? when by his own admission he hasn't been able to fully implement it as the transfer window didn't go as expected.
27 Aug 2024 18:16:54
People are saying the owners don't know what they are doing but they have made £100 million in this transfer window so they are not doing too badly.
1.) 27 Aug 2024 18:40:25
Any Prem club can make good money selling their best players, it's not rocket science!
2.) 27 Aug 2024 18:52:20
Question is E, what are they planning to do with the money?
3.) 27 Aug 2024 19:02:45
Fosun know what they're doing, they just don't want to tell us, and I think that's because it dosnt concern our football .
4.) 27 Aug 2024 19:54:58
£94m - £25m = £69m
5.) 27 Aug 2024 20:51:51
578 million pounds liabilities less 69 million pounds = 509 million pounds Wandering Star.
6.) 27 Aug 2024 21:11:28
PeteD, what are you on about. E was talking about the playing squad. I don't know about the full financial status of the club.
7.) 27 Aug 2024 22:00:10
Personally, I'm more interested in the football on the pitch and find football fans talking about 'good business' just a bit irritating. Some people believe that if a club raises £100M by selling their best players that they will spend all of that money on new players.
They sell those players because they need a chunk of that £100M elsewhere in the club, like avoiding PSR, due to excessive expenditure. So its not 'good business' its just survival.
8.) 28 Aug 2024 07:29:24
You don’t get to be a billionaire if you don’t know what you are doing.
Don’t see many billionaires posting on here.
Guo knows what he is doing and he will be fine.
9.) 28 Aug 2024 09:15:12
Sorry Wandering Star. I have become obsessed with the finances since their last published accounts. Go to Companies House Web site and check it out but have a clean pair of pants ready. They have a negative company value so on paper are worthless. Unless someone puts huge money in they must be planning on keeping money back from transfers to reduce liabilities and interest. That's what I think for what it's worth.
10.) 28 Aug 2024 09:29:42
E - Thomas Cook!
Also whilst Einstein spoke 4 languages and was quite good at Physics he couldn't speak Greek ( or indeed any of the other hundreds of languages in the world) so the arguement that if you are good at one thing you are good at everything is a pretty poor one
I strongly suspect that Guo has v limited knowledge/cares about the small football, (whatever that is), business his company has invested in and which to date has apparently been doing ok
11.) 28 Aug 2024 10:03:02
Some might disagree E mistakes have been made and a fair bit of money wasted, which can happen in the money pit that is football at this level. What remains a mystery to me is why Wolves don't seem to able to increase their income streams significantly.
Why no investment in increasing stadium capacity or sponsorship incomes? these are bedrock to these types of businesses. Concentrating on buying good players with potential is fine but if selling them is all you've got to rely on for growth/returns then the consequences are what we're seeing now.
12.) 28 Aug 2024 10:03:17
TFIOG you are indeed correct.
Unfortunately we are the ones who know all about football but Guo is the one making money out of our club.
He’s just made £100 M while the fans are arguing amongst ourselves so he will come out of it all ok!
13.) 28 Aug 2024 10:12:31
EFrom Wombourne he has not just made 100 million pounds. Cash in isn't the same as profit. It is a balance sheet item.
14.) 28 Aug 2024 10:21:57
E - he hasn't made £100m Wolves have but since they lose that every year in on going business it only goes to eliminate this year's losses.
In fact given the amount Fosun/he have/has put in (puchase price plus loans converted into Equity) it is now higly unlikely that he will even get his money back and if we are relegated he is looking at a very large loss.
So no he will not come out of it ok!
Pete D - don't worry about the negative net worth it really has very little to do with the value of the company.
Check out the major companies on the footsie and you will see there are vast differences between their TNW and their market cap.
The valuation of companies is a complex and multi faceted issue not suitable for this site but your underlying point is correct. The accounts are a mess and we are indeed a very badly run club!
15.) 28 Aug 2024 10:27:51
Also E from Wombourne take purchase of wolves add money spent then look at negative net worth, Guo has overseen financial disaster for Fosun and there is nothing there for him to take out. The future of Wolves may be decided by disgruntled Fosun shareholders.
20 Aug 2024 12:15:00
My season ticket price per game works out at £38.
When The Club announced ticket price rises some posted that this was essential to invest in the team to compete in the PL.
As of today there are tickets available in all areas of the ground for our Category A game against Chelsea which sees the return of Pedro Neto to Molineux.
I would urge supporters who were happy with the increased prices to snap up these tickets at £71 or £63 in the BW or SB stands and £56 behind the goals.
Our recent trip to USA playing on waterlogged pitches leading to Cunha being un match fit to start against Arsenal was supposed to generate more international fans who would be happy to jump on a plane on bank holiday weekend to take up the seats vacated by local fans who are priced out.

Yes WS you have backed Fosun for a long time and you have been wrong for a long time.
When other supporters have tried to show you that you may be misguided in your opinions you would have none of it.
17 Sep 2024 23:33:16
Sorry Old Wulf and WS it was WBA who paid £6.5mill for SJ and he went to Palace on a free.
Didn’t realise that.
He couldn’t really do much about N’castle goals but I think he will cost us points and how is he worth £10mill now when he is older than when he went for 6.5 and then for free?
17 Sep 2024 21:52:07
To pay £10 million for a keeper who Palace paid £6.5 million two years ago and he only played 29 games for them with worse stats than Jose Sa in his all time Premier League appearances is also ridiculous Old Wulf.
Not saying SJ is over the top but that he never reached the top.
He’s a good championship keeper.
We were linked with Ramsdale who is on a different level to SJ.
17 Sep 2024 19:33:11
Old Wulf remember Peter Shilton in the play off semi vs Bolton?
A good keeper is worth how many points over a season?
I think we have a top championship keeper in SJ but like the Doc his best days are behind him.
