I'm so frustrated with Wolves, pretty football and can't score.
I'm not sure if it's a lage problem or players confidence.
We was up against a team that just conceded 9 goals and there just wasn't any pace going forward.
In my opinion, go with pace, attack from the off get early chances and a goal, so there confidence drops bringing memories of conceding 9 last week.
But no we all pretty with no goals and pretty football with no end product doesn't get you points. So fuming
If Lage was to go, I'm not sure who we would get in, I'm not sure which direction fosun want to go

What are the predictions for the mighty Wolves this season in the league?

ChristopherYappy87

1.) 27 Jul 2022 05:56:04
Far far too early for that sort of question christopheryappy.lets get August gone at least.

2.) 27 Jul 2022 06:17:08
Better than a lot think.

3.) 27 Jul 2022 06:58:36
Everyone when starting a season has a perception of where they think there team will finish at the start of the season.
Who's going down?
Who's your top six?
Come end of season.

4.) 27 Jul 2022 07:07:05
Agreed Abbey Sept 1st is the day to ask that question. If they land a good striker, we'll do ok, if not who knows.
There's actually nothing wrong with the team itself the issue is squad depth, we've had a clear out which is fair enough but boy are we thin on the ground.

5.) 27 Jul 2022 07:24:08
I think we will be top 10 with a more than fair chance of finishing 7th or above.
We iron out the goal scores for column we will be right up there.
I have basis from last season and now we have Neto and MGW.
Collins an excellent acquisition.
I trust in the project of our club.
Yes there's always concerns but I am born a winner not a defeatist so I always look forward to the new season as we have quality top class players at our club of which rarely seen for most my adult life.

Top 6,
Man City Liverpool Chelsea arsenal spurs and man utd.
I think man utd the most vulnerable of not making top 6.
Relegation I am not sure it seems the 3 promoted teams are strong.
I woukd like Bournemouth to he relegated.
Not sure about Lampard is good enough manager for the pressure of being the Everton manager.
Everton may have another bad season.

6.) 27 Jul 2022 08:02:05
Agree mainly phil, as it stands we're no way in fear of relegation, but without a striker and further depth we could be in for midfield struggle. If all went injury/suspension free and the goals flowed we could be pushing. Bruno as the history of youth players being successful but most of ours seem to be going out on loan, luke cundle possibly the latest, which I find hard to believe. Ronan could be our surprise package, there still a lot of activity transfer wise possible. Because of that I think we need to look at our position in September before we'll have a real sense.

7.) 27 Jul 2022 08:44:55
Top six. Not out of the question,by any means.,see what we all think after the first six games, and a couple more shrewd signings.
Coyw

8.) 27 Jul 2022 09:06:27
You are correct mate so is longmynd and everyone else regarding our thin squad.
I answered genuine I probably be laughed at,most takes my views not seriously just I'm over enthusiastic too positive and barking mad lol.

9.) 27 Jul 2022 10:26:41
No one laughing at you phil, your right, it's just the uncertainty of what players we'll have have gives us doubts at the mo. That's why I think it's too early to make judgements now. COYW 2 matches the weekend and Sunday night bruno should give us all an idea. I keep remembering what I was told by a Portuguese guy who knew bruno before he joined us, he told me bruno changes the team around depending on the opposition not in a set style

10.) 27 Jul 2022 10:39:16
Pretty much agree with you Phil. definitely need another strike in. My top 6 is the same as yours but Arsenal and Chelsea the other way around. This based on who Chelsea have lost and who Arsenal have recruited. Bottom 3 I think Forest, Fulham and Leeds. I'd prefer to see Bournemouth go and Forest stay but time will tell. Agree Everton could also have another difficult season. As for Wolves I'm going to say 9th.

11.) 27 Jul 2022 10:54:47
Spot on Phil, never laugh at u mate, your views are from the heart of a wolf. ??

12.) 27 Jul 2022 11:02:19
I agree with you Phil, I wouldn't put money on a position and obviously squad size and suspensions/injuries will play a part but hopefully top half of mid table.

13.) 27 Jul 2022 11:20:19
I understand you Abbey?

14.) 27 Jul 2022 11:22:50
I shouldn't of posted what I did.
Wrote/spoke without thinking.
?

{Ed001's Note - we all do that at times Phil don't worry. That was how we found out about Ed666's penchant for wearing a rubber gimp suit.}

15.) 27 Jul 2022 11:38:50
Pmsl?
Ha ha cheers Ed001 ?

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome Phil. If you google gimp suit these days you will see some very fetching pictures of Ed666 modelling his...}

16.) 27 Jul 2022 13:47:18
Greyleg I haven't told you this for ages you still.my legend ?lol.

Ed001 it's the 666 that worries me?lol.

On serious note our squad depth has been real thin for quite some time.
I feel we are still in that position but right now at present we have a few things making us better than last few seasons especially last season.
With this in mind where we finished last season and where we just missed out on finishing last season with more rub of the green it's not impossible to have a good season.
We could have injury's suspensions this clearly will be key.
I know the Leeds game at home jiminez sending off was wrong/harsh but there was a foolish booking for jiminez prior to the sending off in that game which ultimately made it the second yellow.
My point is needless bookings can be resolved and should be,making our task of picking up wins/points not needlessly harder like last season.

Fingers crossed ? for the mighty wolves.

17.) 27 Jul 2022 14:49:38
Ed001 funnily enough or not! My youngest son is currently the referee on the ITV2 program "Apocalypse Wow" wearing a "Gimp" mask. It's an awful show, my opinion, fortunately he gets well paid for making an ar*e of himself!

{Ed001's Note - I have never heard of it, by the sounds of it that is a good thing! But somebody has to do it, so why not him? Some people do it for free, so good on him earning money for wearing it. Ed666 will be gutted to have missed out on that.}

18.) 27 Jul 2022 15:18:00
Ironically Ken, I too know someone who appears on that awful show Apocalypse Wow - my other half manages Hot Slippery Jesus's photography studio.

19.) 27 Jul 2022 15:24:30
Phil you should see some of my posts mate we all do it don't be hard on yourself.
I agree with you about top 10 possibly 7th, but with the right signings we can probably break the top 6, we've been knocking on the door for the past season so who knows mate?
Keep your posts coming you are a breath of fresh air and I love reading your posts mate.

20.) 27 Jul 2022 15:36:13
Ed001 apparently it's on after "Love Island" whatever that is!
It's not exactly what I had in mind when he said he was going to be an actor! But whatever makes the money.

{Ed001's Note - you have to start somewhere mate. I remember my uncle starting out as a comedian and went to the job centre to join some scheme or other to get help. The woman behind the counter genuinely said to him when he told her he wanted to be a comedian "are you trying to be funny?"}

21.) 27 Jul 2022 16:14:23
Ed001 yeah I had Hollywood in mind not Cricklewood!

Statto he enjoyed this second series more than the first one, more nice people on it than last. The director asked for him to this one and the next if they do it that is. Someone somewhere must like it, not for my age group.

{Ed001's Note - give it time mate and you will be snubbing all us plebs while you hang around with the Hollywood jet set.}

22.) 27 Jul 2022 17:59:35
Ed001 I very much doubt it, if he makes a living doing what he loves I shall be a happy man! You can't really ask for more for your kids than that. It makes him happy and he enjoys what he does.

{Ed001's Note - that is all you can ask mate.}

I'm really not happy with the direction wolves are going in, we don't seem to have a clear transfer policy, targets that I feel are out of our reach, I love the optimism but we need players in and seem to have a lot of out going transfers with any replacements coming in. I starting to fear for wolves and I'm a massive fan always have been.
Should I be worried?

ChristopherYappy87

1.) 15 Jul 2022 00:51:49
No Sellers has already said they are hoping to bring 2 or 3 more players in,
don't listen to any of the rags linking us with player Wolves have never let on who the targets are until the deal is done.

2.) 15 Jul 2022 05:37:28
Christopher as rated says don't listen or read the rubbish put out by media, they get paid to come up with the twaddle. Additions will be made as and when by the club.

3.) 15 Jul 2022 08:02:17
Have to disagree Christopher, I think that the club have a very clear transfer policy, young players with potentially to develop has been the blueprint for a number of years. So enjoy the season as Neto, Kilmun,Ait Nouri,Collins,Mosquera,Chicquino etc etc strut their stuff.

4.) 15 Jul 2022 09:48:42
I'm struggling to name many players that Wolves signed under Fosun that were over 23 for serious money. Jimenez and Semedo are the only two that stand out. Moutinho was a token fee and you can probably argue that Patricio and Sa were specialist positions that retain transfer value for a far greater period of time. Neither were in fact above 20 million with Sa almost being a swap for Patricio.

5.) 15 Jul 2022 10:30:57
ChristopherYappy : YES.

6.) 15 Jul 2022 13:28:42
How old was big wily boley and seiss? Seriously don't know ardunby, would of thought big wil was 25+

7.) 15 Jul 2022 14:47:55
Abbey you may be correct I think Boly is 30 now and Saiss about the same age. I can't recall when tbey signed. They were about 23 to 25 I would say.

8.) 15 Jul 2022 14:58:13
Just checked Abbey both were 26 when they signed by the look of it.

9.) 15 Jul 2022 16:50:50
I thought they might have been, I think they were only (only I say!) 2-3 million or even on a free. That was an investment.

10.) 15 Jul 2022 18:34:38
Willy Bolly cost approx 10.5 Mill and Saiss around 3mill

11.) 15 Jul 2022 19:37:15
Abbey, Arddunby and Norfolk - They were indeed great investments!

I think the Portuguese influence in the squad and the signing of both guedes and nunes will be a massive pull for us to get these highly talented players. With Jorge mendes and obviously Bruno Lage's impact in being able to convince them to join wolves I can see the transfer record being broken again. With Ramos looking more and more likely, we will see how likely tomorrow night if he's picked to play for benfica.

We need a different identity, the football was stale towards the end of last season and it's good he's putting a stamp on things and he hasn't lost the dressing room you can see how the players played very well for most parts considering the lack of depth.
Lage needs time and I think he will get it, not easy clearing out the crap, bringing in new faces, whilst changing to a new formation and tactics. Have a little patience least we can all agree on thing we will finish above crappy man utd?

Yeah I agree with Wolfman32, he was average but amazing leadership. Collins and kilman look like they will work and playing 4 at the back which Coady can't do gives us that extra man in midfield which with the right attacking players going forward will mean more goals which we need following from last years effort. We still need reinforcements to come in but guedes signing is very positive for us and signing him will keep neves at the club for certain.
Neto has to stay tho, he's offers similar to traore both very unpredictable and that offers confusion for the opposition as they won't know what to expect.
Take sterling you know exactly what he will do, hugs the touchline then cuts in on his right foot, so predictable and it's the unpredictability that can be the difference between a win or lose.

I think we need to play a side that capable of scoring the longer we go without scoring and the press etc going on about it mentally it will affect us. I think play full strength got at them and make a point, plus give more opportunity to gel.
I do think there's a link already there with podence and guedes. COYW

MGW is not premier league, i'm not his biggest fan and £40 million for a bang average player and unproven should be grabbing the money and running

I agree Buxwolf, I love wolves always have done we have shown no really intention of signing players and fosun not backing Lage with teams around improving and wolves standing still I think it's going to be a difficult season
