Well lads the next few months will let us know how good O'Neil was, maybe this is as good as we can get with this current squad, maybe we can start picking up straight away with the new manager. Time will tell. Either way I think we need 3/4 players in January to give ourselves a decent chance.

Reports are that GON was told after the Everton debacle that he was gone and VP has been in talks since then. He'll be announced today.
Tommy Doyle gave an interview to Jacqui Oatley where he mentioned more but I can't find it anywhere. The snippet I did read said that GON had lost the dressing room as he knew his fate.

Sadly we don't know the truth, but one perspective, maybe truth in the rumours of O'Neil being told he was gone a few weeks ago and Fosun had struggled to find a replacement, could have filtered through to the Dressing Room, hence the "odd" behaviour. Many players have voiced their support for O'Neil.
This from Jonny Phillips is telling:
“Shi has rarely attended games in these recent weeks, preferring instead to focus on contests in the e-sports world. That is fair enough if his role is to increase brand awareness and alternative revenue streams in far flung global destinations, but if Wolves want to succeed in a Premier League environment there must be a strong hand on the tiller in a traditional football chief executive role.”.
It feels like the dressing room will need a lot of convincing to restore faith in Fosun.

I get what you're saying RugeleyWolf2, but that's what a Manager is for. Players come and go with different pay masters in our case it's Fosun who pay their enormous wages. It's the players job to perform to their best ability and the managers to ensure they do. It's not Fosun's job. Trouble is these days they all want a arm around them telling them it'll be alright. It's their job to perform and not worry about Fosun. That's something they can't control. If they're upset at GON being sacked maybe they should take a long hard look in the mirror.

I get what your saying Black but I'm not sure it's that simple. It's kind of like at school when a supply teacher comes in, the kids behave horrifically because they know there is absolutely no repercussions! When you look at the last two matches I suspect Wandering is correct in that the players have clearly known Gary and his team are leaving (Lemina squaring up to Derry springs to mind). I get why they (Fosun) did it because they have clearly thought it's better than no manager (teacher:) but I would argue that yet again they got the decision entirely wrong!
Because actually the absolute sh1t show that has been the last two matches (players sent off, fighting staff and a captain stripped of the arm band) is now likely to do FAR more lasting damage! Surely it would have made FAR more sense if they had just done what (literally every other club does) and asked the u21 Manager (James Collins) to step in as care taker manager and prepare and lead those matches?! I'm sorry but yet again at EVERY juncture Fosun look like absolute amateurs when it comes to all things football! Give me strength, let's just hope this new guy is good at managing the dressing room cause he's walking into an absolute fire storm! Good luck Vitor, your going to need it at this place! ??

Good analogy Bullys, I think it's pretty obvious that this is a multi layered issue now. Fosun apparently tightening the £ screw, GON stitched up but lacking the experience to get through it, players acting like squabbling kids.
What I find interesting is that Shi was allegedly sidelined in terms of football matters and Hobbs promoted to take that over, he also took on GON. Now it seems that Shi is running the Manager hunt again under the guidance of our old friend Mendes. On that basis Wolves were never going to employ a Moyes or a Potter or anyone similar.
I always expected it to be a Spanish or Portuguese candidate anyway. As I've said previously, I know Fosun seem to have lost the plot recently buying kids, which might yet be Hobb's influence, but they can't afford for us to get relegated. Of late we seem to lurch from relative success to disaster with Fosun occasionally stepping in to sanction changes which usually get a reaction, that's their style. A hoop and a stick I once described it as.
It does make you wonder about the local management, however, anyway let's hope this is the first step in getting the hoop back on course.

I think the deal for VP was a few weeks ago it would surely take longer than 2 days to identify, approach and agree terms with the new manager. I think they had struck a deal after the Everton game and were just dotting the I's and crossing the T's.

While some shop at Harrods, we're left to rummage around the charity shops due to Fosun's declining interest ( (and I did find Johnny Phillips' article very interesting). Maybe (hopefully) the new guy will at least sort the defence out but I still think he'll be working without the likes of RAN and Cunha come Feb with freebies or loaners coming in.
Really we still need similarly decisive action with Shi and Hobbs- I don't know if we can still reignite our relationship with Uncle Jorge but I think he disappeared last time because we were too close to breaking the rules with his 'role.
Maybe just the optimist in me but I still think we can avoid relegation but it's going to be a bumpy ride

Have to agree with Gary's comment that Wolves are not physical enough. Problem is they tend to sign players not tall enough to be really physical. Hence we end up with the likes of Podence who defenders love to play against. Teams with big physical players tend to steamroller us. I would be good to have a Wily Boly at the heart of the defence. Mind you it would help if we had two full backs who can defend, Semedo is lightweight in that department. Pity they don't show the same aggression during games as they did at the end of Ipswich game.
