One fit defender, one central striker ( at least 'til Jan ) Several quality young players shoved out on loan, when we're struggling to put out a team for a Cup-tie! e.g Hugo, Chiquinho, Lembikisa etc. What is going on? Never mind, we've got 4 goalies! Absolute Shambles! FWAW .

So Mosquera and Toti have slight injuries so they won't be risked tonight. Dawson therefore won't be risked either as we can't aford to lose him either. Santi Bueno is the only senior CB who is available and willing to be risked as Meupiyou is also injured. I think this is GON's way of telling the board that CB position needs to be addressed. I think GON is now looking for an exit strategy as all other positions have been covered except the CB role and he knows that it cannot be solved any time soon.

I don't blame GON at all. The club should have identified a suitable CB regardless of Kilmans departure. I've long backed Fosun but the fact that they've failed to address our CB issues is nothing short of criminal.

There is no point having the attackers who will score 2 or 3 goals a match if the defence are going to concede 3 or 4 goals.

Our team tonight on paper will be strong bar 1 CB position as it'll most likely be: Sa, Lima, Bueno, U21 CB, Doc, Rodrigo, Forbs, Cundle, Doyle, Guedes, Sarabia.

We'll play well for 75 minutes, get battered for 15 minutes where Brighton will scored at least twice. GON will come out and say we need to concentrate and make improvements but ultimately, Fosun will only see the 75 minutes where we played well and think everything is rosy in the garden.

WS. I don't think GON will need an exit strategy if we're adrift at/near the bottom of the table come Christmas. He'll be fired.
I realise we didn't get a senior CB, but we did get in two younger ones. The one we bought from Nantes (who is apparently an excellent prospect -£5Mill?) is injured and was when we got him!
Who does that?
It was strongly rumoured we were selling Traore before his injury against Burnley and then the club backed out.

Yes it's crazy to risk any of the players we need in the CB position for Saturday, give the u21 players a chance if need be, they may surprise us.

Well I watched the U21 team last night, lost 3-0. But a notable absentee was Alfie Pond, cf, he's looked very good with decent distribution. Was on loan at Stockport last year I think. Maybe he might be in GON's plans tonight?

Give it a rest E, I've also long debated the intentions of Fosun (on both sides of the fence). Doesn't make someone a bad fan, quite the opposite as they are generally trying to find the positive to help support the team. Not to mention the fact that if everyone just agreed on here it would be an awfully dull forum! Besides all of which just cause it looks bad now we could all still be wrong. Unlikely I grant you but if by some miracle we end up finishing in the top 8 this season then I will be first in the line with a bowl in hand desperate for some humble pie! It would certainly taste sweeter than relegation! ??
